The elder nodded, and then, accompanied by the sound of rushing air, a Thunder Warship descended steadily onto Martial Arts Peak.
The disciples boarded the ship one after another, each finding a place to stand. Afterward, the Thunder Warship began to move slowly. The mechanisms inside the warship clicked and clacked, and it was unclear where the power source came from; its structural principles were certainly not something an ordinary person could comprehend.
The Thunder Warship was a mechanical creation personally crafted by the Earth Second Artisan of the Five Element Sect. The status of the Earth Second Artisan was even higher than that of the Elder Immortal Academy, second only to the Supreme Emperor and the Young Sovereign, the two leaders.
The Thunder Warship they built could operate in water, at sea, and on land. It had a large capacity and high speed, truly deserving to be called a divine artifact. If deployed on the battlefield for transporting troops or military supplies, it would be incredibly convenient—able to penetrate deep into enemy territory and maneuver swiftly.
Of course, the Five Element Sect was an external force that would only come to show their resolve when the Imperial Authority was established or assist the current dynasty in some anti-bandit and peacekeeping efforts. They would never casually use a divine artifact like the Thunder Warship to disrupt the rules of the world.
Not only would the Five Element Sect refrain from such actions, but other major sect leaders would also avoid it because their power was too great. Once they intervened in the Imperial Authority, it could lead to unimaginable consequences. The most terrifying outcome would be pushing everything toward destruction.
Accompanied by a strong gust of wind, the Thunder Warship sailed into the clouds and flew high above. In addition to the Inner Sect Disciples, there were also some senior brothers on board who were there to maintain order.
The person leading everyone to eliminate bandits in the East Sea was the Supreme Emperor; however, so far, no one had seen his true form. The Void Immortal was like that—always elusive and mysterious; he must have already infiltrated the Thunder Warship.
As the Thunder Warship ascended into the clouds, fluffy white clouds floated above. The ship continued climbing higher until it broke through the cloud layer and reached above the white clouds.
Suddenly, blinding sunlight poured down, making it hard for people to open their eyes. The atmosphere below the white clouds was gloomy, but once above them, the sunlight became scorching.
Everyone looked up with their heads held high; in the distance lay the vast universe. Standing on the ship, one could even see many unnamed planets glowing under intense sunlight. This magnificent scene evoked a sense of awe for the wonders of Earth.
This is the inexplicable power of nature!
After flying above the cloud layer for half a day, the Thunder Warship covered several thousand miles—equivalent to a carriage running at full speed for half a month.
The speed gradually decreased as it slid back into the cloud layer and descended into the space below.
At this moment, standing on the Thunder Warship, one could see the vast blue land below, or more accurately, the blue surface of the sea. The scene was just like the Cosmic Starry Sky beyond the clouds, with no visible boundaries.
The Thunder Warship plummeted downwards with a whoosh, and the scenery below became increasingly clear. Eventually, the warship landed steadily in the middle of a massive island, descending into a forest.
This place was entirely a sea of trees, with cypress trees large enough for several people to embrace found everywhere, blocking out the sun. In the distance, there were volcanoes emitting thick smoke.
As the warship landed in the woods, it startled a large group of birds and beasts. There were also some unnamed animals, such as spiny porcupines, one-eyed short-billed birds, and mice peeking out from the ground to observe their surroundings. The area was vibrant with life, clearly undisturbed by human presence.
The disciples gradually disembarked from the ship, leaving only the more senior brothers aboard. They would not join the anti-bandit team but would instead leave with the Thunder Warship and return to welcome Lu Chen and other new disciples after the anti-bandit mission was completed.
The warship soared again and vanished from sight.
At this moment, many people exchanged glances, realizing that they had reached a point where they needed to fend for themselves, feeling a sense of loneliness creeping into their hearts.
Those bold enough had already brandished their great swords and charged directly into the distant forest. The more timid ones sought to form teams for outdoor missions; naturally, teamwork was best for mutual support.
Lu Chen held a package in one hand containing Spirit Talismans and medicinal bottles while gripping his great sword in the other. He stepped away from the crowd. Once he had distanced himself sufficiently, he used Rift Spell to open the entrance to Jun Bell, placing both the medicinal bottles and Spirit Talismans inside before sealing the rift with Healing Void Spell.
Earlier on the ship, with so many people around and circumstances being complicated, he had refrained from using Jun Bell for fear of attracting attention.
As he advanced through the dense forest alone, Crimson Lotus Princess had invited him to team up; however, he declined under the pretext of already having a team. After all, Lu Chen was already part of Sun Zizhao's faction. Mixing with Crimson Lotus Princess and her group would be inconvenient. He also felt a bit wary of Crimson Lotus Princess's cunning nature; if she decided to strike at a critical moment, it would truly be disastrous.
One must always be cautious of others; regardless of who they are, especially since Crimson Lotus Princess was a deeply scheming individual. Being around someone like her was extremely dangerous.
Next, Lu Chen walked while beginning to devise his plans.
Currently, he was on the outskirts of Wind Blinder Archipelago and needed to gradually advance inward alongside others. The Five Element Sect, Star Gate, Qi Kingdom, Yushan Kingdom, Eastern Sea Seven States, along with Great Zhou Court's Defender of the Realm had all united to form an Alliance Army that spread out like a large net over Wind Blinder Archipelago, seemingly preparing to capture Red Robe Sect and other bandits in one sweep.
Lu Chen naturally could not assist these people in slaughtering the Red Robe Sect, as he himself was already a member of the Red Robe Sect. However, he also could not openly turn against them and help the Red Robe Sect massacre the Alliance Army; the Alliance's power was too great, and turning against them would only lead to his own demise.
This matter had to be approached slowly, taking one step at a time and adapting as needed.
After walking alone in the damp forest for several hours, he had covered about forty to fifty miles. The surroundings gradually darkened, becoming quiet. Lu Chen jumped onto an ancient fir tree and sat cross-legged on a branch, allowing his Yin Spirit to leave his body and began cultivating the Four Symbols Thunder Scripture.
In the darkness, Lu Chen's Yin Spirit took on a vague human shape, resembling a human frame that was not very solid or real, appearing extremely faint; this was due to the Pure Yang Classic aura within his Yin Yuan.
Lu Chen raised his palm, and a lightning snake, about the thickness of a chopstick, began to condense in his hand. It twisted and turned, gradually growing taller with the urging of his Yin Yuan, from one inch to one foot, then to one and a half feet.
At one and a half feet seemed to be its limit; Lu Chen exerted all his strength into his Yin Yuan, but the lightning snake still could not rise any further.
Suddenly releasing his grip, the lightning snake vanished. He let out a long breath; cultivating the Four Symbols Thunder Scripture was truly exhausting and consumed an immense amount of Yin Yuan. After practicing for so long, he had only reached this level.
This was not due to his low aptitude; it was mainly an issue with the Yin Spirit Realm. After all, he was still in the Spirit Travel Realm and had yet to condense his Dharmakaya into form. It was impossible for him to compare with those peak experts of Law of the Realm like Chuan Ru Mage.
Just as Lu Chen finished his practice, a series of clashing sounds echoed nearby, accompanied by faint shouts that seemed to indicate a fight had broken out.
Lu Chen returned his Yin Spirit to his body, his figure flickering as he jumped down from the tree and headed toward the direction from which the fighting sounds came.
After passing through a patch of woods, he arrived at a clearing about three hundred steps wide. The sounds of battle were indeed coming from this open area. Lu Chen crouched behind a dense thicket of grass, peeking out cautiously to observe.
He saw about ten people dressed in red clothing and wearing red hats surrounding two young disciples wielding large swords. Nearby lay several individuals in red clothing who appeared to be dead.
It seemed that these individuals in red were members of the Red Robe Sect, while the two disciples wielding large swords belonged to the Five Element Sect.
At this moment, although the disciples of the Five Element Sect were being besieged, they were not at a disadvantage. Both disciples had reached Unity of Man level; their Qigong was exceptional. The swords they held were long and heavy; every swing generated powerful gusts of wind that no one dared to block. They maneuvered effortlessly against the ten or so members of the Red Robe Sect.
The cooperation between the two was unique; they often separated to engage in combat, taking down several Red-Clad Disciples before quickly retreating to back each other up, moving cautiously.
In contrast, the situation for the more than ten Red-Clad Disciples was quite dire. Several had already been slain, and while the remaining ones surrounded the two disciples from the Five Element Sect, they were still at a disadvantage and very passive.
Their Qigong cultivation was lacking, with the highest among them only at the Body Refinement Explosive Qi Realm, and more than half had not even reached that level, indicating they were merely ordinary disciples of the Red Robe Sect.
Lu Chen used Yin Spirit to observe and discovered that those two formidable disciples were indeed from the Five Element Sect and looked somewhat familiar, though he did not know them. At this rate, the disciples of the Red Robe Sect would eventually be worn down by the two, and Lu Chen could not stand by and let that happen.
With this thought in mind, Lu Chen swung his great sword and boldly jumped out from the bushes, shouting, "Brothers, do not panic! I am here to lend you a hand."
Lu Chen's sudden appearance stunned both the Inner Sect Disciples of the Five Element Sect and the Red-Clad Disciples.
As Lu Chen wielded his great sword, he walked forward while releasing his Qigong energy and executed some impressive sword techniques. The Red-Clad Disciples were immediately taken aback and tightened their grips on their long knives in defense.
"Brother, look at the great sword in his hand; he is indeed one of our Five Element Sect members," one of the two disciples said joyfully to the other as they stood back to back.
