The War Minister had just stood up, still in shock, when a severed head rolled to the ground, tumbling like a ball until it came to rest at his feet.
This was a real human head, bloody and with eyes wide open, not yet fully closed. The blood was still warm, emitting a faint steam, indicating it had just been severed not long ago.
Upon closer inspection, the War Minister realized that the head belonged to none other than Dolandor, who had left this place not long before. Just moments ago, he had been very much alive and arrogant; now, only his head remained, with the flesh completely gone.
