I am merely here to rescue my student; surely that is not against any rules?"
Saint Mai spoke with a probing tone towards Lu Chen. It was certain that Lu Chen would not permit him to interfere in domestic issues of Yushan Kingdom. During Princess Zhulan's ascent to power, Saint Mai had indeed not appeared; however, now he intended to rescue the Kalan Prince under the guise of a teacher.
"National Master, thank you for saving me," came Kalan Prince's grateful voice from deep within Luban Divine Ridge.
"Prince, it's over. I am no longer the National Master. You should give up as well. From now on, follow me in cultivation and pursue immortality," Saint Mai said in a calm tone to Kalan Prince.
Saint Mai was now advising Kalan Prince to abandon his throne and relinquish his desire for power, suggesting that he follow Saint Mai to Luban Temple to cultivate and seek longevity.
"Yes, Master. I will follow your arrangements," Kalan Prince responded obediently in front of Saint Mai.
"Saint Mai, enough! If you take Kalan Prince away today, it means you are opposing me. This Master will never agree to that. You better hand him over; otherwise, I will burn down your Luban Temple and all your countless giant trees," Lu Chen interjected firmly upon hearing that Saint Mai intended to take Kalan Prince away. If Saint Mai succeeded, it would be a huge embarrassment for him.
Moreover, Lu Chen had a gut feeling that someone like Kalan Prince would seek revenge and would inevitably return one day to threaten both himself and Princess Zhulan. Therefore, Lu Chen could not allow Kalan Prince to leave alive.
