Yui and Dian Yin sat in the tea house, watching the rush below, shaking their heads helplessly. Yui's bright eyes sparkled with a hint of excitement. "Why don't we join in? It looks like so much fun watching them."
Dian Yin remained expressionless, turning her face away, unwilling to look at her. It was simply embarrassing for a celestial being to compete with mortals for things; wouldn't it be laughable if word got out?
Yui was silenced by Dian Yin's expression and could only watch the beautiful women below enjoying themselves.
The silver moon hung high in the sky, and a gentle breeze blew.
In a dilapidated temple, two silver threads crossed in mid-air. Dian Yin lay on one while Yui sat on the other. Bored, Yui chewed on a piece of grass and said, "The cycle of day and night for humans is really fast. It's still early, yet it's already so dark."
Dian Yin turned over, facing away from her. "If you don't want to sleep, go outside. Don't disturb me."
Suddenly, an idea struck Yui, and a glimmer appeared in her eyes. She jumped down from the silver thread and walked over to Dian Yin, looking up at her. "Dian Yin, how about we sneak into the palace tonight?"
Dian Yin ignored her as she continued, "Humans say that knowing oneself and one's enemy leads to victory in every battle. We haven't even met these two princes yet; how boring is that?"
Finally, Dian Yin spoke coldly, uttering three words: "You're so annoying." Then she closed her eyes again.
Yui's greatest strength was her patience. With a long night ahead and no intention of sleeping, she vowed to sneak into the palace and uncover the mystery of the princes. She moved around to face Dian Yin directly. "Come on, let's go! We won't feel tired anyway since we're not sleeping. Instead of sitting here attracting mosquitoes, why not go find some fun?"
"I'm not going."
Yui was also angry. She had tried to persuade for so long that her mouth was dry, yet he remained completely unmoved. How unappealing! However, Dian Yin's cold demeanor reminded her of someone...
"Are you really not going?" Yui squinted her eyes, confirming one last time.
Dian Yin turned his back to her once again. Yui felt ignored, her pride wounded. She decided she would go by herself, hmph!
The moon cast down its silver light, spreading across the ground as a shadow moved at great speed, reaching the palace in the blink of an eye.
