"Why do you keep saying I'm your Benefactor?" The boy calmed down, realizing that Yui meant no harm. His mind quickly turned over the possibilities; a little girl, even if she were a deity, was still quite innocent...
"Hmph." Yui sat down beside him, opened her palm, and a translucent jade pendant appeared in her hand, faintly glowing in the dark night. "Look, you have this. This is what I gave to your Benefactor years ago."
The boy took the jade pendant, blinked, and looked closely again, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. "It doesn't glow when I carry it."
"Of course not. In front of you mortals, it won't glow unless it recognizes its master. I am its master, and since I'm a deity, it will glow. But I find it strange... it's been with you for almost ten years and was given to you by me. Why doesn't it glow?" Yui furrowed her brow in confusion.
The boy tightened his grip on the pendant, lowering his gaze to hide his ambiguous expression before changing the subject. "Is it really just because of a jade pendant?"
"Well," Yui pondered while resting her chin on her hand, "are you named Nuo?"
"Yes," the boy nodded.
"Then that's it! You have the jade pendant and the same name; you are my Benefactor! Although I don't know why you forgot me," Yui said cheerfully as she patted the boy's shoulder. "By the way, what's your full name?"
"Liu Fu Yeno."
After Liu Fu Yeno spoke, he asked again, "Are you really a deity?" Is there really such a legendary thing in this world?
"Why don't you believe me yet..." Before Yui could finish her chatter, a chilling killing intent rushed toward them. Yui quickly pulled Liu Fu Yeno aside as a golden blade sliced through the spot where he had just been standing, splitting the ground beneath them in half.
"Yui shouted, 'Dian Yin, have you lost your mind? What are you doing?'
'We can't let humans know we are immortals. Step aside, I am going to kill him,' Dian Yin said expressionlessly, not loosening the light in his hand, his eagle-like sharp eyes fixed tightly on Liu Fu Yeno.
'He... he is different. He saved me, and he knew I was an immortal ten years ago. I won't let you kill him,' Yui firmly stood in front of Liu Fu Yeno."
