"Alright, you can all leave now." The Crown Prince waved his hand wearily and stood up, walking towards the Inner Chamber. His robes fluttered in the wind, the hem brushing against Yui's cheek, leaving a trace of fragrance.
Yui couldn't help but feel a moment of confusion. Could it be that she had turned into a color-changing girl? Although the Crown Prince indeed had a face that made one want to pick him, he was still the enemy!
Just as Dian Yin and Yui were about to leave, the Crown Prince stopped again. "Xiao Yu, right? Come here for a moment; the others can go."
Yui's eyes widened in shock, her body stiffening. Could it be... he recognized her???
She looked at Dian Yin with pleading eyes, but Dian Yin ignored her and calmly followed the Eunuch out.
She felt like crying without tears.
Taking tiny steps, she approached him with her head lowered. The two maidservants on her head happened to align with the Crown Prince's face as she softly asked, "Is there something you need, Your Highness?"
The Crown Prince was also puzzled, unsure why he had called her over. However, a cold glint flashed in his eyes; this woman clearly did not understand palace rules and did not seem to be pretending. Could it be another way to attract him? Or perhaps... a spy?
After a long silence without a response, Yui secretly raised her head. The space before her was empty, only the gauze curtain hanging by the pillar swayed in the wind, seemingly mocking her.
What the heck!!! They left without saying a word.
Yui and Dian Yin were assigned to the same room, which was remote and shabby. There was even a damp smell inside. Fortunately, Yui was from the Water Deity Clan and didn't mind these things too much. However, it posed some trouble for Dian Yin; being caught between water and fire elements made her uncomfortable in overly damp conditions as well as in excessive heat. Thus, she rarely returned to the room, turning it into Yui's personal domain.
For several days, she spent her time in the palace without any disturbances. The work was quite easy; she just helped with fetching water, mopping the floors, and washing clothes. However, she no longer had the chance to see the Crown Prince, and even Dian Yin was difficult to encounter.
She was not one to keep her feelings bottled up. Arriving at the palace was not as enjoyable as she had imagined, and there were numerous rules binding her. Feeling lost and disheartened, she looked up at the sky as it began to darken, preparing to return to her room for some rest. Just as she was halfway there, a commotion erupted behind her.
