Yui ran up from behind and met the Prince's deep and terrifying gaze. Her eyes shifted to the axe on the ground, and she felt a chill; it couldn't be... not again as the scapegoat.
Sure enough, the Prince's cold voice reached her ears, "Did you throw this???"
"No..." Yui waved her hands and stepped back, "It wasn't me." For some reason, she always felt intimidated by the Prince's aura, making her want to distance herself from him.
"It was... it was... that axe... that flew out on its own." She stammered, shaking her head vigorously.
The Prince coldly curled his lips, a hint of sarcasm flashing in his eyes, "Not you... but the axe flew here by itself?"
"Yes, exactly! The axe flew here on its own. You are truly wise, Your Highness." Yui couldn't believe how perceptive the Prince was and immediately broke into a bright smile.
But why did the smile on the Prince's face seem increasingly sinister? Yui suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.
"Come here!!"
Two groups of guards surged out from behind the Prince, grabbing Yui by her arms and forcing her to kneel down. Caught off guard, her knees hit the ground abruptly, and her head was pressed low.
She was furious; she was a deity, and her divine dignity did not allow her to kneel before a human.
"You lie." The Prince seemed to scoff slightly, "Or are you saying such an unbelievable lie? You tell me how you should be punished."
"You are completely unreliable, and your whole family is unreliable too."
"Your Highness, in the opinion of Old Servant, this palace maid has delicate skin and flesh. If it gets serious, it won't be good. Just give her twenty lashes," the Eunuch said, following closely behind the Prince, speaking obsequiously.
Yui gritted her teeth in anger, glaring fiercely at the Prince. Her usually spirited eyes were now clouded with a hint of gloom, and the raindrops on her forehead glimmered faintly.
The Eunuch sneered, pointing with his elegantly curled fingers at the axe lying on the ground. "This is evidence." He then turned his finger towards Yui. "You are a person. Now you are caught red-handed; you can't deny it. Someone, come and punish her."
Yui lightly curled her lips and coldly uttered two words, "Do you dare?"
