But from the perspective of the Eunuch, it was a different scene. He secretly despised Yui, thinking that she was just like any other woman, unable to resist the allure of wealth and power. Yet, there was not a hint of weakness on her face.
Yui anxiously urged, "Let's go, let's go."
The Eunuch held the lantern and walked ahead, with Yui following closely behind.
The path was long and somewhat eerie, with the trees on either side gently rustling their leaves. The candlelight in the lantern flickered, casting shadows that swayed along the road.
As Yui walked, she sensed something was off; the shadows on the ground... seemed to belong only to the Eunuch.
Oh no, she had forgotten that as a celestial being, she had no shadow like a ghost. If the Eunuch noticed this later, it would cause trouble.
She quickly slipped behind the Eunuch and struck him with a swift chop. He let out a small gasp before collapsing limply to the ground.
Yui was not a kind-hearted person; she delivered two more kicks before picking up the lantern and bouncing toward the direction of the prince's chamber.
Inside, there was a faint light. Yui extinguished the lantern and took a deep breath at the door, realizing there was no sign of Dian Yin. The next day would be when Dian Yin was at his weakest; knowing his character, he must have found a place to hide by now.
Yui clenched her fist for encouragement; she had to complete her mission before Dian Yin returned.
She quietly stepped inside and saw the prince reading at his desk, not sparing her a glance. She couldn't tell if he knew she had entered.
Yui didn't know what to do. After standing for a while, she remembered to bow. She placed her hands at her sides, slightly bent her knees, and with a crisp voice said, "Xiao Yu greets the Crown Prince."
She was still not used to referring to herself as a servant, so she called herself Xiao Yu instead.
The Crown Prince slowly raised his head, a hint of amusement flickering in his eyes. He set down the book and leaned back against the chair. Perhaps it was due to the night, but his voice carried a slight huskiness.
"I thought you would be standing there for quite some time."
So he had known she was here all along and had left her waiting. How frustrating! However, Xiao Yu lowered her head to hide her anger and repeated what the waiter had taught her: "It is Xiao Yu who does not understand the rules."
