The Crown Prince couldn't quite articulate his feelings, as if the uncontrollable heartbeat he experienced years ago when he first saw Yui in the rain had returned.
His throat felt dry, and he wanted to speak, but his lips merely moved without sound.
The figure he had long hidden deep within his heart was actually smiling and walking toward him, just as beautiful as in a dream.
Yui, enduring the burning sensation within her, saw the Crown Prince collapsed nearby with a pained expression. Forgetting everything else, she rushed toward him.
"Crown Prince, are you okay?"
The Crown Prince stared at her without blinking, reaching out as if to touch her, but his hand merely trembled in the air.
"Am I dreaming again?"
Scared? Dreaming? Yui touched her face and suddenly realized that she was exposed.
She quickly took two steps back, feeling flustered. Turning around, she searched for something to cover herself with, but the blanket was torn apart, leaving only a few ragged pieces of cloth.
"Right... Crown Prince, you are dreaming right now. Everything you see is false; it's all fake."
She wasn't sure if this kind of self-hypnosis would work, but there was no other choice. She had just barely survived using a technique that didn't belong to her own style of martial arts and was likely severely injured, completely drained of energy.
The wound on his finger could not heal by itself, so there was no way to erase the Crown Prince's memories.
The Crown Prince suddenly caught up, wrapping his arms around Yui's waist from behind, firmly holding her small body in his embrace.
"Yui... is it really you? Really? I know I'm not dreaming. This time it's real."
Yui trembled but did not dare turn her head.
A terrifying thought gradually spiraled into her mind.
"Yui, are you going to deny it again this time?"
The Crown Prince forcefully turned Yui's body around, gripping her chin and forcing her to look up and meet his gaze.
It was indeed the face from his memories. He had thought he would gradually forget, but it turned out that just a little was enough for him to recall every detail of those days.
"You... how do you know the name Yui?" Yui's lips trembled, and her hands shook.
