Yui lifted her head from the prince's embrace and asked, "What is happening outside?"
"Today is the Rain Prayer Festival."
In the Western Frontier, there is a custom of praying for rain, hoping that the heavens will send down raindrops to save them from drought. This year's disaster is particularly severe, so the event is being held with great pomp.
Yui clapped her hands excitedly; she had never seen such a scene before. Holding the prince's hand, she said, "Come on, let's go take a look."
A fleeting glimmer of something unknown passed through the prince's eyes but disappeared in an instant as he smiled gently and replied, "Alright."
Yui pushed open the door and indeed saw a crowd of people dressed in strange robes and masks, each holding small drums or other items she did not recognize.
As soon as the prince stepped out, the Prefect, with his round figure, displayed his extraordinary ability and rushed in front of the prince, saying, "Your Highness, may we begin?"
"Let's start."
The Prefect's beady eyes kept darting toward Yui, startling him momentarily. When did the prince bring out a woman? What happened to that girl from yesterday?
He had thought that since the prince cherished that girl so much, she would be easy to coax with a few kind words. Now… the girl was nowhere to be found, and instead, a woman had appeared.
As Yui walked past him, she stole a glance at him and said, "Prefect, I am actually that little girl's sister."
"Ah no..." Yui covered her mouth, her eyes spinning around before she mysteriously said, "Actually, that little doll belongs to the Crown Prince..."
Before she could finish her sentence, it felt like a little cat was scratching at her heart, but Yui had already burst into laughter and walked away.
As soon as the Crown Prince stepped out of the Prefect's gate, a sea of people knelt outside, their voices booming and shaking the heavens, "Long live His Highness the Crown Prince!"
"Rise."
Yui looked over and saw that it wasn't just the disaster victims; even ordinary citizens were kneeling there. Did everyone in the Western Frontier know that the Crown Prince had arrived here?
Unconsciously, Yui tightened her grip on the Crown Prince's hand. Even if she wasn't clever, she could roughly guess what kind of scheme was at play in the Prefect.
"Yes..."
"It's nothing." The Crown Prince lightly scanned the area ahead, a captivating smile curling at his lips. "This little bit of skill can't do anything to me. Just watch the show."
