Seeing Sudai so excited, Song A couldn't help but ask, "Miss Su, what exactly have you discovered?" 0

"You'll find out soon~" Sudai said with a mysterious look. 0

Sudai rarely acted this way, so her behavior had successfully piqued my curiosity. Following closely behind her, we soon entered a narrow yet long passage that felt cold and sterile, reminiscent of a hospital corridor. The sight of such a passage made me feel uneasy, so I glanced back at Lemon and noticed his brow furrowed. An ominous feeling washed over me, and I quietly asked him, "What's wrong? Did you notice something?" 0

"Yes," Lemon nodded and replied, "There should be hidden crossbows here; be careful." 0

I nodded seriously. These hidden crossbows were common in the Tang Dynasty and earlier; once triggered, they would shoot from concealed spots in the tomb. Worried about stepping on one, I warned everyone, "There might be hidden crossbows here; watch your step!" 0

Just as I finished speaking, a faint sound of something slicing through the air reached my ears. Although it was quiet, it startled everyone into silence as we exchanged glances. 0

"Quick, back away!" Lime shouted, but it was too late. From behind us came a series of mechanical sounds activating one after another. At that moment, Wuma You screamed in terror, "Run! Run! Damn it, we're definitely going to get shot like a beehive this time!" 0

I tiptoed to look back and saw a flurry of arrows shooting towards us. By the time I regained my senses, Lime had already grabbed me and started running forward. At the same time, I heard Sudai exclaim in surprise and regret, "Oh my gosh, there are hidden crossbows here! How come I didn't notice them when I came in earlier?" 0

"I think you were just lucky not to trigger them!" Song A replied as she ran ahead of me. 0

"Something's off about her," Lime suddenly whispered in a tone only we could hear. I glanced at him and recalled the strange situation with ‘Songzi’ earlier, then asked in fear, "She isn't a snake transformed into a human, is she?" 0

"No," Lime shook his head. Just as he was about to say more, we heard screams coming from behind us. 0

I didn't expect that in just a few breaths, our crossbows had already fired rapidly. Lime rushed to the front without hesitation, and just as he ran off, an arrow struck my left shoulder. Due to inertia, I fell to the ground. As I was about to get up, someone stepped on my back, and I found myself embracing the earth once again. One after another, people stepped on my back, and I felt as if I were being trampled into internal injuries. 0

The sounds of crossbows firing, people's screams, and the chaotic sounds of running filled my ears. After a while, they finally all ran away, leaving me sprawled on the ground in a sorry state. 0

Perhaps I was lucky; the height at which those crossbows fired was just about a fist's distance from my head. I didn't dare to get up and could only watch helplessly as people in front of me were shot into a beehive of arrows and then used as human shields... 0

I felt a chill because I saw that one of those people was Song A! Although the flashlight's beam wobbled due to running, I was shocked to see Song A unhesitatingly using someone as a shield while running. Our group was already small; Xiaoshan had died on the way. Judging by the size, the person in his hands should be a man—perhaps Da Meng—because he was larger in stature. This was when one could truly see a person's nature... 0

As I pondered this, I saw many more crossbows firing ahead, and they were shooting close to the ground! If I stayed down like this, I would surely die! Just as cold sweat broke out on my forehead, someone suddenly lifted me up. I looked up in terror and realized it was Lime. Instantly relieved, I thought how great it was that my good brother came back for me at such a time! 0

"Hold on tight." 0

Before I could say a word of thanks, he threw me over his shoulder. Then I witnessed a scene that could only be seen in movies—he actually carried me like a living person while leaping over walls. Although he swayed left and right, up and down, making my stomach churn violently, this shock was not just visual; it came from deep within! 0

He looked so thin and weak; I never expected him to have so much strength! This couldn't be described as human; it was like something divine! I couldn't help but wonder if I was dreaming again—had I already been shot into a beehive? 0

But soon I realized this wasn't an illusion because he pulled the arrow out of my arm in one swift motion! I couldn't help but gasp and tightly covered the wound while he tossed me a piece of cloth and leaned against the wall to sit down, starting to pull out several arrows from his leg... 0

I stood aside, wanting to help but fearing that I wouldn't be as quick or precise as him. Instead, I bandaged my own wound while feeling extremely guilty; if he hadn't come to save me, he wouldn't have been injured. Just then, Lime said, "The traps were deliberately set by that woman." 0

So Lime had gone to stop Sudai? I quickly asked, "Why did she do that?" As soon as I finished asking, something felt off, so I curiously asked again, "You just said she wasn't transformed from a snake; then what is she transformed from?" I simply couldn't believe that Sudai would harm us, so I had to think in other directions. 0

"No," Lime denied again. "She must have been possessed by something." 0

"Possession..." I stared at him in shock and hesitated before asking, "It can't be a ghost, right?" 0

I didn't believe in ghosts, but first I encountered a giant snake that could transform into a person, then there was the Zongzi with its skin peeled off, and next came the blood-red hair that could move and bite. After witnessing so many bizarre occurrences that even science couldn't explain, my worldview had truly changed. Even if I was reluctant to believe in ghosts, I couldn't deny the reality of these events. 0

"What about Sudai? How is she now? Is she in danger?" I asked Lime without blinking, firing off three questions in quick succession. After all, we had come together, and I didn't want to see her die here while still so young and beautiful. 0

"She ran away," Lime said casually. Perhaps seeing my lingering worry, he added, "She's not an ordinary person; she should be fine." 0

Not an ordinary person? Indeed, she was far from ordinary. She had been a soldier and was much stronger than me; I was the ordinary one... 0
