Although there are many sumptuous foods in The Dead, I only took out some compressed beef and water, of course, pulled from my backpack. After a simple meal, the Mountain Ghost did not pursue us.
To recover our strength and regain energy, we unanimously decided to rest for the night in this Tomb Hole. I had already set up a simple maze at the entrance. Although it was called simple, it was actually quite magical. After placing stones in specific positions, the formation would activate. If one did not follow the fixed steps and accidentally entered, it would be like walking into thick fog, ultimately leading them back to where they started.
If the stones were covered with a lot of Yin Qi, the effect would be even better! The cave entrance was blocked by a tent, which prevented some of the wind from coming in. However, even so, the weather was still cold enough to make me shiver. Although there seemed to be several blankets inside The Dead, it was still chilly!
The rain fell heavily and continuously; I even had a feeling that we might drown inside. But clearly, I was overthinking it. After staring blankly for several hours, I realized that Wang Yi and the others had already raised the bottom of the cave entrance with mud when it started pouring.
Choosing Wang Yi as the team leader wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision. He may look big and somewhat dull, but when it comes to crucial moments, he is quite attentive and clever. This seemingly brainless demeanor is actually his most lethal trait and something that enemies easily overlook.
When I first encountered Wang Yi, I misjudged him. At that time, I wondered how someone who looked fierce and brutish could be part of that team while others were falling one by one. Yet he and a few others survived. At that moment, I knew he was not simple; not just Wang Yi but also those around Xianxian were extraordinary. Given time and proper training, they would undoubtedly become remarkable talents!
