I felt like my bones were about to break, but thankfully there was some resistance from the parachute; otherwise, the fall could have been much worse!
The Black Bear, still shaken, got up from the ground, panting and exclaiming, "Brother Qing is really amazing!"
Just at that critical moment, it was Lime who drew his sword and cut through the sharp tip on the ice. That decisiveness, that determination, and that speed truly lived up to the name of Master Qing!
Wang Yi's eyes sparkled with admiration.
Looking at their expressions, I suddenly remembered my past self. Especially at this moment, the Black Bear reminded me of how I used to be. Faced with such bizarre events and dangers, it was impossible not to feel fear. In short, back then my strength was insufficient, and I was limited in every way; when confronted with danger, I had no ability to resolve it.
With a bitter smile, I got up from the ground and turned on my flashlight to survey the surroundings. Upon seeing the situation, I could only sigh silently.
The flashlight couldn't reach the top or illuminate the surrounding ice or anything else. The ice beneath my feet was very fragmented—pieces large and small, unevenly scattered, making it difficult to walk.
Heh... Heh...
The growling sounds like zombies gradually reached my ears as beams of flashlight light swayed up and down and side to side. Despite the extremely low temperature at that moment, I still felt cold sweat forming on my back.
Darkness—indeed, it's what we in this line of work hate the most! But we often face darkness; unlike in cities where there are lights and electricity, here we can only rely on this small flashlight for visibility!
However, the flashlight's beam was concentrated into narrow shafts of light, illuminating only a small area.
To explain all this, what I really want to say is that right now—in this moment—within the range illuminated by my flashlight, I could see corpses resembling zombies from American movies! The only difference was that they were all frostbitten; their skin was cracked and even peeling back to reveal flesh underneath. Some had all their limbs intact while others were missing arms or legs. Yet each one emitted beast-like growls from their throats that were chilling to hear and made anyone listening feel uneasy.
These corpses had no thoughts; one could say their minds were entirely driven by animal instincts—instincts for attack and slaughter.
A few gasps sounded around me as Wang Yi spoke up and asked, "What should we do now?"
All around were Corpses, or more accurately, Zombies! Although their eyes were hollow, I could see the hidden bloodlust deep within them.
"Attack," Lime simply stated.
"Well, we have no choice but to attack," Xianxian said with a smirk that was neither a smile nor a frown, making it impossible to guess what was on his mind.
I looked at the surrounding Zombies and could only smile bitterly. Did we have any other options besides counterattacking? No! If we didn’t attack or resist, we would only end up dead ourselves. These Zombie friends didn’t look friendly at all!
"Let's start by taking out a few, then find a way out!" As he spoke, Xianxian had already started firing wildly. Almost simultaneously, a rumbling sound echoed from all around us. We were not facing hundreds or thousands; it was an army of overwhelming numbers!
No, it wasn’t just five of us! I immediately summoned all the Spirits from The Dead. As Jiang Feng emerged, he was momentarily stunned by the surrounding pressure, and the others were similarly affected. However, perhaps because they had already experienced death once, they knew these creatures couldn’t harm them, so they quickly became excited and began shooting.
I could sense any movements within The Dead at any time I wished, so I knew Jiang Feng was already engaged with these beings and had gained some understanding of the current situation.
The sounds of gunfire and roars melded into one, creating an increasingly heavy atmosphere. Even with the help of the Spirits, the surrounding Zombies surged forward like a flood. Although their speed was slower, they came rushing in relentlessly, and the encirclement grew tighter and tighter. I could even smell death in the air. My hands were already numb from exhaustion, and I had changed magazines several times. Finally, Wang Yi and the others ran out of bullets!
"Lime..." I turned back just in time to see Lime standing to the side with a furrowed brow, inserting his gun into his waistband before drawing out an ancient sword, clearly preparing to fight.
It was obvious that the others also noticed Lime's actions and expressed their surprise. "What does Brother Qing want to do?"
"I'm going," Lime replied as he started walking forward. I quickly grabbed him and shook my head, saying, "That won't work!"
"What about the explosives? Why not blow them up?" Black Bear shouted in fear.
As soon as explosives were mentioned, Wang Yi lost his composure and shouted at Black Bear, "Do you want to be Buried Alive?!"
Clearly, Wang Yi was still haunted by the earlier incident where he hadn’t controlled the force properly. However, it wasn’t entirely his fault; with so many Zombies chasing us at that speed, it was only a matter of time before we would be caught up. At that point, how would it be any different from our current situation?
"By the way, why don't we use Fire Attack?!" I slapped my forehead in frustration; indeed, it's easy to lose focus in a highly stressful situation.
"Fire Attack?" Xianxian jumped up suddenly and exclaimed, "How did I not think of that? By the way, how many do you have over there?"
"Well, I found three initially. One is in your bag, and another is with Lime," I said with a smile while looking into Xianxian's eyes.
Xianxian was taken aback for a moment before shouting, "I knew it! No wonder my bag got heavier. You little rascal, when did you sneak it in?"
I chuckled helplessly, admiring her acting skills. However, Lime remained much calmer. Wang Yi and the Black Bear were completely stunned by Xianxian's antics. Wang Yi was sweating profusely and pulled on Xianxian, saying, "Master Xian, isn't this the wrong time to discuss that?!"
"Yeah, yeah! They're about to attack!" the Black Bear exclaimed anxiously.
"Alright, alright!" Xianxian rolled her eyes in exasperation. She pulled out two magazines from her waist and tossed them to the two of them, saying, "You two hold them off for now."
"Got it!" Wang Yi and the Black Bear quickly loaded their guns and began firing wildly at the nearest Zombie.
Xianxian walked over to me and set down her backpack, turning her back to the two. She asked, "Big or small?"
"Well, not too big or too small." As I spoke, I reached into Xianxian's backpack. With a thought, a slightly smaller Flamethrower appeared inside. Xianxian's eyes lit up as she quickly pulled it out.
"This isn't good; they're getting closer!" The Black Bear ran over in panic. "Hey, hey, is this the fire extinguisher? It's too small!"
Seeing this, Wang Yi also rushed over with a frustrated expression. "Master Xian, this only ignites at close range, right?"
"Uncultured!" I shot a glance at Wang Yi, raised my hand, and tossed a Remote Control, saying with a smile, "This is high-tech; it comes with remote control. Just watch!" I gestured to the nearest person to me, Sun Cheng, who immediately understood and hurried over to take the Flamethrower from Xianxian.
Everyone looked surprised as I handed the remote control to Xianxian.
Xianxian looked at the remote control in her hand, a mix of laughter and tears on her face, and threw me a look that said, "You're impressive." I raised my eyebrows and walked over to Lime, taking a Flamethrower out of his bag. Seeing that Wang Yi was very interested and about to grab it, Xianxian excitedly said, "This is really interesting, but one isn't enough for me. Bring me the other remote too!"
"Here." I handed the other remote to Wang Yi as he approached. Although he was full of curiosity, he wouldn't go against Xianxian's wishes, so he hurried over and handed the remote to her. Without needing to say anything, Guo Fan also eagerly ran over to grab the Flamethrower.
The two small Flamethrowers floated in mid-air as Xianxian excitedly shouted, waving both remotes in different directions. "Go!"
Guo Fan and Sun Cheng were perfectly in sync as they ran out with their Flamethrowers.
"Can I have a turn with the last one?" A young guy who seemed to have just joined us, named Gao Bo, excitedly ran over and asked me.
I smiled and nodded, handing him the Flamethrower in my hand. Soon, three Flamethrowers were spraying fire in three different directions, and I could almost smell the burning flesh.
The roar grew louder as the incoming Zombies let out continuous screams and howls that sent shivers down my spine. What could I say? I stood quietly by, only able to watch coldly.
In a place where no one could see, I had already sent Jiang Feng and a group of "people" to pour oil on those Zombies, so I watched as flames quickly surged from where the fire was spewing.
The raging fire almost illuminated the surrounding scene. In the sea of flames, the Zombies had nowhere to escape; in fact, they weren't trying to escape at all. Despite being engulfed in flames and screaming in agony, they still crawled toward us like moths drawn to a flame. It seemed they were determined to take us down! That resolve and intent made even me want to exclaim in admiration!
"This is too intense!" The Black Bear was once again stunned; however, this time the fear in his eyes had diminished significantly, replaced by both shock and joy.
Wang Yi was clearly much calmer than the Black Bear. Although excited, he hadn't completely lost his ability to think. He walked over to me with an expression full of admiration and asked excitedly, "Brother Feng, where did you find this treasure?"
