"The surface is very smooth." Lime furrowed his brow slightly, lost in thought.
While he was speaking, I had already directed my gaze upwards, and at this moment, I was equally shocked. Indeed, we hadn't noticed these details at first because our thoughts had wandered far away, and with Lime and a few others present, we didn't think much of it. Now that he mentioned it, I could see that this "ice wall" had no cracks whatsoever!
Isn't that strange? Of course, it is very strange!
The ground was covered in shattered ice pieces, varying in size, all caused by the Big Bang. However, the ice here appeared very peculiar; logically speaking, there should be at least one or two cracks or unevenness! Yet, it was so smooth, as if it were completely separate from the other broken ice pieces!
This leads to three possibilities.
First, the wall here and the shattered ice pieces are indeed separate.
Second, an invisible force is protecting this ice wall from the explosion's impact.
Third, the hardness of this ice wall is simply too great to be affected by the explosion or other ice pieces.
"Actually, I've been thinking," Xianxian suddenly spoke up, reaching out to touch the ice wall in front of him and said lightly, "We must have arrived here while we were unconscious. Logically speaking, such a place shouldn't exist underwater. So is it possible that we've fallen into another dimension?" When he said the last sentence, a glimmer of unknown light shone in Xianxian's dark eyes.
"Another dimension...?" I began to ponder seriously.
Xianxian continued, "For example, in our current material world, we believe everything is solid and has mass. Just like large planets or small tables and benches; everyone sees them as tangible and substantial. Now scientists say that matter decomposes into fundamental particles until there's nothing left... but that's still uncertain. According to Daoism, all things are composed of qi; Buddhism teaches that emptiness and existence are the same. Therefore, beings from higher dimensions perceive everything in our material world as mere illusions..."
"Each sweeps their own doorstep clean; let others deal with their own troubles—does that mean anything?" Pei Zi hesitantly spoke up.
"Everything created in different dimensional worlds—houses, buildings, etc.—is formed from the gathering of qi, light, and thought. Due to differing frequencies from Earth's material world, they are invisible to us. The essence of matter is emptiness; actually, it's similar to the principles of the material world," Xianxian said with a profound expression.
I thought for a moment to digest what he said before hesitantly responding: "So you're saying that based on the principle of emptiness and existence being one and the same, combined with differing frequencies means that when houses are built in different dimensions at the same location, humans cannot see other houses; they can only see one?"
"Exactly! This Lord means just that! Haha..." Xianxian laughed lightly before suddenly becoming serious and mysteriously said: "In short, I suspect this place is a manifestation of collective consciousness! Just like in Mythical Legends, when more people believe in it, it becomes real!"
I swallowed hard, feeling a strong sense of excitement slowly rising in my heart. "I believe there are other dimensions beyond our three-dimensional existence, but is this idea of creation really feasible? It just feels so incredibly cool!"
Xianxian did not answer directly but continued to speak cryptically, "Actually, every dimension has its own version, you know about the Lotus Sutra, right?"
I shook my head. "No, I haven't heard of it."
"I know you haven't heard of it, so listen carefully!" Xianxian shot me a glance and continued, "Its current translation suggests that when Bodhisattvas come to Earth, they need to lower their frequency. When the Bodhisattvas see Earth in its messy and dirty state, what Buddha shows them is actually a golden and beautiful Earth. This also involves frequency."
"That seems unrelated to what we're discussing," I said dismissively.
"What's wrong? This Lord is just supplementing your knowledge!" Xianxian glared at me. "If you're going to look down on someone, look down on those major religions instead!"
I thought he was just showing off his knowledge. I rolled my eyes at him again and asked disdainfully, "Why?"
Xianxian looked disappointed as if I were an unteachable child, then said indignantly, "In fact, there are enlightened individuals in Buddhism and Taoism, but most religions distort the truth, promote superstition, or profit from it. They create a personified god to enslave people for gain and fame—it's truly... unbearable!"
"OK, OK, you seem like you're the one promoting superstition!" I chuckled. Seeing him about to get angry again, I quickly added seriously, "But what you said does seem to have some merit. How about..." I looked at the other two, "we give it a try?"
"Let's use collective Consciousness to think about what we would become if we succeeded."
"Sounds good! That sounds interesting!" Pei Zi immediately agreed.
"Yes." Lime nodded lightly.
Thinking of it as an action plan, we four closed our eyes right there. In my mind, I envisioned that the four of us were no longer on the ground. When we opened our eyes again, who knows—we might have already ascended! And perhaps we would uncover some great secrets!
Even though I knew this was just a psychological suggestion, I hoped it would be stronger!
Suggesting that we had succeeded, suggesting that we had truly discovered the secrets here or seen something like a coffin—anyway, when we opened our eyes again, we wouldn't be in the same place!
With these thoughts in mind, after a while, I slowly opened my eyes. The flashlight was still on, but upon waking up, I realized... the other three were nowhere to be found! Oh my God, what on earth happened? I tried to calm myself down and recalled whether there had been any unusual air fluctuations during that period of meditation—anything at all. In short, I didn't miss any detail in a "360-degree all-around" scan.
Unfortunately, after working hard for most of the day, I still haven't seen the other three. Moreover, strangely enough, I am no longer in the same place!
Xianxian was right in the analysis! This was my first reaction.
But where should I go next? The place I find myself in is completely dark; aside from the light emitted by my flashlight, I can't see or touch anything around me. A strange feeling arises, as if something is watching me from the shadows, yet it seems like there is nothing at all.
After what just happened, I already know that these feelings are just my imagination playing tricks on me. In fact, the scenery here is very likely something I have "conjured" up myself.
Although it feels very real!
But everything is fake!
Yet annoyingly, even knowing that these thoughts are likely just my own fabrications, I can't control my mind.
"Lemon! Xianxian! Pei Zi! Are you guys here?" I shouted loudly.
Silence...
With no other choice, I had to take steps forward while repeating a phrase in my mind: I'll see the three of them soon, I'll see them soon...
So, while muttering this to myself, I continued to walk forward. I didn't look anywhere else but focused on my toes. After all, even if I looked around, there was no guarantee I'd see anything, and it was very likely that it would just be more of my imagination. It was better not to look at all.
Here, I could only hear the sound of my footsteps—very light and rhythmic.
However, as I walked, I began to notice something unusual! The sound of footsteps seemed to multiply! It was as if every time I took a step, another sound would follow behind me. It felt like someone was following me; when I took a step, they took a step too! When I stopped, they would stop as well!
With this realization, a chill suddenly ran down my spine!
It's not the first time I've seen a ghost; under normal circumstances, I wouldn't be afraid if I encountered one.
But in this situation, I have no idea whether it is good or evil! If I turn around and it lunges at me to tear me apart...
"Stop with these unreliable thoughts! Aren't there a bunch of ghosts living in The Dead? Why weren't you scared then? Why are you afraid now?" I thought to myself, "Honestly, I'm not scared at all. If they want to follow me, let them. If they dare to deliberately scare me, I'll just cut them down!"
With that thought, my steps became lighter, and I prepared to "summon" another companion. Just as I was about to check inside The Dead, suddenly, I found I couldn't get in!
I couldn't sense anything inside The Dead!
Oh, damn it! I gritted my teeth; what the hell is going on in this cursed place!
The surroundings were pitch black, and there were unknown things following me. That was one thing, but now I couldn't even "get into" The Dead! This is really messing with me!
Taking a deep breath, I suddenly turned around to look, and what did I find? Nothing!
Damn it! I was really just scaring myself! I patted my chest and turned back to walk forward again. But just a few steps later, that rhythmic sound came from behind me again! I felt a surge of anger rising within me and turned back sharply. And again! There was nothing there!
My anger had nowhere to go, so I had no choice but to keep walking...
However, before I could turn back again, something suddenly rested on my shoulder. Mechanically, I slowly turned my head to take a look and saw a hand resting on my shoulder in the darkness! Although it was through thick clothing and I couldn't feel its temperature, it truly annoyed me!
So without saying a word, I grabbed that hand and yanked it forward with all my strength. As I turned around, I bent my knee and pushed backward!
Then came a muffled grunt followed by a sharp and exaggerated roar that nearly shattered my eardrums: "What the hell are you doing?!"
