"Guess who is lying inside that Ice Coffin?"
Hearing the voice, I snapped back to reality and saw Xianxian standing next to me. It could be said that all four of us were looking at the images in front of us.
"I guess it might be the Demon God Child," Another Me said without hesitation.
"No, no, no!" Xianxian shook her finger and said, "I admit that was my first thought too, but upon further reflection, there is absolutely no reason for the Demon God Child to be here! Let's think about it; the Demon Clan is so powerful, and the structure of the Underworld was already magnificent. Although we won't encounter any Tomb Raider here, in this icy wasteland, who would want to suffer here for eternity?"
What Xianxian said was something I had also considered, but deep down, I really hoped to see this legendary figure with my own eyes! However, before this thought could fully form, it was abruptly turned into an empty fantasy by her words.
As we continued forward, the path ahead opened up unexpectedly. It was as if a regular tomb passage suddenly led into a burial chamber. I stared blankly at the scene before me, feeling as if I were dreaming and hardly daring to believe my eyes.
"So, how do we get across?" I asked.
"Fly over?" I joked as I looked ahead.
The space in front expanded, but the path beneath our feet had vanished!
It felt as if we had instantly entered another world; in front of us was a bottomless abyss, a sea of darkness that seemed endless! It was like a monstrous black hole that would devour anything that fell into it, leaving nothing but despair.
Yet it wasn't entirely hopeless; however, this one glimmer of hope only made me feel more disappointed and desperate...
At the center of the abyss floated a conical platform. Why do I say it was floating? Because a gentle and bright Green Light cascaded down onto this conical platform! The platform sparkled like a dazzling and beautiful emerald, shimmering with a faint Green Light.
Beneath the Green Light, a crystal-clear Ice Coffin rested on that platform.
Although the light here is almost invisible, I clearly know that there is no path leading to the center of that vast land.
"Heh, interesting. No road? Do they really expect us to fly over?" Xianxian said with a half-smile, showing no sense of crisis at all.
"How about...?" Another Xianxian seemed to suddenly take an interest, raising her eyebrows and smiling, "Why don't you jump down and see if you can fly? If you can fly, that's great. If you unfortunately fall, it can be considered a noble sacrifice. After all, Xia Yuxian is unique; if you die, I’m still here. What do you think? Want to consider it?"
Upon hearing this, Xianxian jumped up, glaring at the other one and shouted, "You should die! This Lord is the real body, so if anyone should try it, it should be you!!"
...
"I'll try first."
A calm voice suddenly came from behind me. I turned around sharply and saw that it was indeed Lime walking toward us with an indifferent expression.
My eyes lit up; indeed, every time I see this person, I feel reassured! Whether it was his previous ignorance or his current extraordinary strength, this man has always been above us!
I glanced behind him and saw no one, so I asked in confusion, "Is it just you?"
"Were you looking for me?" Just after I asked, another identical voice came from behind me—Lime's voice—but it wasn't Lime who spoke. I mechanically turned around and saw another Lime standing at the edge of the abyss, looking ready to jump at any moment.
Sure enough! The moment I heard his voice, my guess was confirmed! Not only had both Xianxian and I become two, but even Lime had split into two!
One Lime was already both lovable and infuriating; now with another one added, I wonder if the aura will become even stronger? At least as we walk along, we won't suddenly realize he has disappeared!
"Where's Pei Zi? Didn't you see him?" Another Me also walked over and asked Lime.
Lime shook his head, indicating that he did not see. Then I heard Xianxian speaking to another Lime: "Are you really going to jump? What if you are the original? If you die, we will lose a key member of The League of Shadows! Forget it, since it has come to this, I might as well take the risk and try!" Xianxian said, and he really rolled up his sleeves as if he was about to jump down.
However, at the moment he was about to jump, Another Xianxian pulled him back: "If you are the original and you die, will I disappear? So what I mean is, I think there's a greater chance that I'm the copy, so let me do it!"
"Alright, you two stop arguing!" I looked at the two of them in disbelief. They were clearly the same person, understanding each other's thoughts very well, yet they were bickering like children. I couldn't understand how Snow Princess, that beautiful lady, could be so devoted to him!
"What, do you want to argue with me too?!"
"What, do you want to argue with me too?!"
The two of them spoke simultaneously.
I pointed ahead and said helplessly, "Lime has already jumped down; didn't you know?"
Although it was a question, I knew they didn't know. Sure enough, as soon as they heard this, both turned around abruptly.
In the pitch-black abyss below, it was completely dark. I had seen Lime jump down without hesitation; in the blink of an eye, he vanished into the darkness before us.
"Why hasn't he come back up yet?!" Xianxian's voice was filled with urgency and worry.
"He just went down a few seconds ago; let's wait a bit!" Another Me said with a worried expression.
Time felt like it was dragging on for years as we five stood at the edge, staring down without blinking. Out of the corner of my eye, I glanced at Lime, and saw that he still looked calm and indifferent while the four of us were even more anxious than he was!
What kind of logic is this!
Speechless, I could only sigh when I thought of Lime's unique essence of life. What could we possibly say to this ancient being whose body is in its twenties but whose soul has existed for a thousand years?
"Hey, hey, it's coming up! It's really coming up!" Xianxian's excited and joyful voice rang out loudly.
Just as she spoke, I saw a distinct light emerging from the darkness!
It was Lime!!
Lime was coming up with a flashlight!
Watching him ascend slowly, there were no points of force on his hands or feet; he was completely floating up due to buoyancy!
So, this place really operates like outer space? With very little gravity, one can float freely inside? As I pondered this, I heard Lime calmly say, "Let's go."
After those two short words, he jumped down, descending rapidly and almost instantly merging with the darkness.
Seeing him like this, what else could we do?
Jump! The method had already been found; not jumping would be foolish!
In the moment of jumping down, I felt no buoyancy at all and fell straight down at an incredibly fast speed. All I could hear was the wind rushing past my ears, so strong that it nearly made my eyes unable to open. After trying a few times, my eyes became dry and uncomfortable from the strong wind, so I simply closed them and let my body fall downward.
I didn't know how long I had been falling; it just felt like my speed was slowing down more and more. I could even clearly hear the change in the sound of the wind around me. When I finally opened my eyes, my descent speed was almost zero.
What a marvelous structure!
At this moment, any sentiment can only be summed up in this one sentence.
In a situation like before, unless someone is truly fearless or seeking death, I believe most people would not choose such a bold and direct method. From this, I imagine that the people of the Demon Clan not only want to test our intelligence but also our courage!
In this second, I once again felt the power of the Demon Clan. To create such an effect, I truly wonder how they managed to do it.
Could it really be... that appearance is born from the heart?
I am not sure at all; it seems that in front of the wisdom of the Demon Clan, we are just ignorant infants. Because of this, I am even more eager to uncover their secrets, more secrets!
My body was no longer descending and did not stop in place; instead, it slowly began to float upwards. I also turned on my flashlight, initially passively floating upwards until I saw the strands of Green Light pouring down. Then I focused my mind and directed my body towards the Green Light.
Gradually, I saw Lime, and then Xianxian. When I reached that piece of land, I stepped onto it. It was no longer an empty feeling but a solid sense of reality!
Before long, the three of us had all stepped onto that place which I originally thought was almost impossible to reach.
From a distance, this land looked small, but now standing on it, I realized that at first glance it seemed mysterious and then expansive. The Ice Coffin was still located in the center of this "land." The light was directly facing the Ice Coffin, so the entire Ice Coffin had completely turned green—crystal clear green—that made it seem less cold and more mysterious.
"Isn't that Pei Zi!" Just as I was about to head towards the Ice Coffin, I heard Xianxian's surprised voice beside me. I turned back with Consciousness and indeed saw a person standing at our original entrance. That person was waving vigorously at us as if shouting something; however, due to the distance, I couldn't quite hear what he was saying. I saw Xianxian also waving her arm and pointing downwards, signaling Pei Zi to jump down.
Pei Zi seemed to understand our meaning and jumped down immediately...
