The strange state did not last long before Cold Snow came from my embrace. I looked at her in confusion and asked, "What's wrong?" 0

"It's time for me to go," Cold Snow said, gazing at me reluctantly. The look in her eyes made me feel a bit complicated and hard to understand. 0

Has it really come to this so soon? I suspiciously glanced at my Watch, and it had only been twenty minutes. "Isn't there still ten minutes left? Where are you going?" I asked two questions in a row, and the strange feeling in my heart deepened. Why does this anger feel like a sense of parting life and death? 0

"Didn't that person say that the passage to the Divine Tree needs to be opened manually? I want to help," Cold Snow said seriously. I could see a hint of determination in her eyes. 0

"No." As she was about to leave, I pulled her hand with my Consciousness and frowned. "There are so many people; why do you need to take action?" I have always trusted my instincts. 0

Cold Snow shook her head and smiled, "I can't accompany you down, but at least let me help you open the passage myself; that way, I will feel at ease." 0

"Okay." I nodded randomly; what she said made sense. I couldn't bear to refuse, but there was still an uneasy feeling inside me. Feeling her hand tightly grasped mine, I looked up at her and saw her eyes shining like stars, with a charming smile on her lips. Unable to resist, I leaned down and kissed her lips, and Cold Snow shyly responded. 0

This was indeed our first intimate contact! 0

After the kiss, the uneasy feeling in my heart dissipated significantly. So, holding her hand, I said as we walked back, "Let me see you off, and promise me not to put yourself in danger." 0

"Okay, don't worry," Cold Snow assured with a light laugh. 0

I am not someone who speaks sweet words, nor do I consider myself a qualified lover. However, changing one's nature is not that easy, and reality does not give me the time or opportunity to change. 0

Everyone was still waiting for us over there. Just as I greeted them, Cold Snow said to me, "Let's stop here. I will go prepare with them." The "them" that Cold Snow referred to was naturally the Awakened ones. 0

I was about to give a few reminders when I heard several exclamations from that direction. I turned my consciousness toward them and saw Xiao Zian and Xianxian, among others, with their mouths agape in shock, their expressions quite artistic. 0

"You should go talk to them and get ready. The way down will be tough," Cold Snow said, feeling a warmth on my lips as she kissed me lightly and smiled while walking toward the Awakened ones. 0

I didn’t know where they were going or what they were preparing to do. After watching their figures for a moment and shaking off the uneasy feeling in my heart, I was drawn over by the voices of Xianxian and the others. 0

"What are you looking at?" I asked, puzzled, noticing Xianxian's twitching mouth and Xiao Zian's gloating expression. 0

"See for yourself," Xiao Zian said, looking at me with a mix of glee and pity as he handed me what he was holding. 0

I took it suspiciously and realized it was a telescope. Suddenly, I remembered that there seemed to be one in The Dead as well; I just hadn’t thought of it at the moment. However, there was no need to bring another one out, so after taking it, I held it up to my eyes and looked in the direction they had been observing. 0

At first, I didn’t see anything specific; all I could see were clusters of Green Light with something moving within them. Adjusting the focus, I stared intently. I noticed that there seemed to be Black Things clinging to the branches and trunks. After watching for a while, it suddenly dawned on me that those so-called Black Things were actually humanoid! 0

Could it be that the trees were crawling with dead people? Oh no, crawling with Zongzi? 0

"Seeing your shocked expression, have you figured out what those Green Lights are?" Xiao Zian's voice rang in my ear, his tone making me want to give him a punch. 0

But yes, I had already guessed what those Green Lights were about. Holding the telescope in my hand, I looked with my naked eyes at the enormous Sacred Tree ahead of us—or perhaps it could also be called the Divine Tree or Tree of Life; in any case, they all meant roughly the same thing. 0

I truly did not expect that beneath such a beautiful exterior lay something like this. 0

Indeed, the more beautiful something is, the more poisonous it tends to be! 0

Just as I was thinking this, a sudden noise caught my attention. I quickly looked over and saw a black object, about the size of a laptop, known as the Black Slate, appearing at the edge of the black hole. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was floating! 0

We exchanged glances without saying much. Xiao Zian patted Xianxian on the shoulder in a friendly manner and said with a smile, "Take care!" 0

Before we could call out, Lime had already stepped forward. He glanced at us and gestured for us to hurry up. I nodded and greeted my dad and the others, saying, "Don't worry about me; we'll be back soon." Even though I said that, I had no idea when we would be able to return. I had left plenty of food and water behind; if we rationed it, it would last us for more than ten or twenty days. 0

My dad also patted my shoulder and looked at me deeply without saying anything like "take care." 0

Cold Snow and the group of awakened ones did not come to see us off; they were likely busy controlling those floating Black Slates. However, would stepping on that black board really not cause it to fall? Looking around at the absence of any fixed objects nearby, honestly, it would take immense courage for anyone to step onto it! 0

Without lingering any longer, I watched as Lime was the first to step onto the seemingly dangerous floating object. Contrary to expectations, he did not fall through; instead, as soon as one foot landed on it, another identical Black Slate appeared a short distance in front of the first one. 0

Lime's expression remained calm and composed; he showed no signs of surprise or fear. Later on, I asked him if he was scared at that moment. He simply replied that there was nothing to be afraid of since he wouldn't fall. 0

Clearly, from the very beginning, he did not consider that thing to be unusual. I was thoroughly impressed by his nerve; most normal people would feel tense and scared in such a situation! After all, there were no handrails or fixed objects—if one misstepped, they could easily fall to their doom. 0

The second person to step up was Xianxian. However, when he stepped on it, he wasn't as smooth as Lime; he cautiously placed one foot on top and exclaimed in surprise, "It doesn't wobble at all! How amazing! Hahaha!" After laughing, he placed his other foot on as well. 0

Seeing them beckon me over, I didn't hesitate and immediately followed suit. But just as both my feet landed on it, the board behind me silently vanished... 0
