Bing Tianyi was not a fool. As the saying goes, there are no waves without wind. Since Wei Min could say such things, there must be many students at school who thought the same. With this in mind, Bing Tianyi looked at Wei Min and frowned, asking, "Who told you that?"
"Isn't it true? Your parents are just wonton sellers, and everyone knows what you were like in middle school. Don't think that just because you're in high school now, no one remembers. But now? You established some Lion King group and became a Lion Head; if it weren't for kneeling to Chen Qian, how would you have this status?" Wei Min's words were sharp and vicious as she scolded Bing Tianyi.
Bing Tianyi was completely speechless and smiled bitterly, saying, "Wei Min, your imagination is too rich, isn't it? Kneeling? I really admire you."
"Are you left speechless? Heh." Wei Min coldly laughed and turned to Mei Fenfeng, who was sobbing beside her, continuing, "Let's go. It's not worth it to deal with people like this."
Although Mei Fenfeng was somewhat reluctant, she still followed Wei Min and turned to leave.
After the two descended the mountain, Bing Tianyi stood at the top, looking at the small county town below. He sighed deeply, a bitter smile on his face, and walked down the mountain.
Back at the small shop, after helping his parents for a while, Father Bing went out to take some money from the drawer and handed it to Bing Tianyi. "Take this money to Fang Qing; it's for half a year's rent."
"Didn't we agree to pay rent once a year? Did she ask us for it?" Bing Tianyi asked curiously as he looked at his father.
"Since we've already used her place, it's better to pay the rent early. This money is for half a year; you take it to her first, and next month we'll give her the rent for the second half of the year," Father Bing said directly to Bing Tianyi.
Bing Tianyi knew his father's temperament; once he made a decision, no one could change it.
Thinking of this, Bing Tianyi could only take the money and walk out the door. Arriving at the neighboring shop, he found that Fang Qing was not there. He looked up at the phone number on the sign and dialed it. Before Fang Qing could speak, Bing Tianyi smiled and asked, "Sister Qing, where are you?"
"I'm at home; who is this?" Fang Qing's voice sounded a bit off as she quietly asked Bing Tianyi.
"I'm Bing Tianyi from the shop next door; I need to talk to you about something," Bing Tianyi replied with a smile.
"Then come over to my house," Fang Qing said.
Bing Tianyi answered and hung up the phone. Just as he went upstairs, Fang Qing opened the door. Bing Tianyi smiled lightly at Fang Qing and stepped inside, only to be greeted by a strong smell of liquor.
Looking towards the living room, he saw an empty red wine bottle on the table and half a bottle of white wine still there.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi awkwardly asked, "Is anyone else in the room?"
Fang Qing, clearly intoxicated, shook her head and said, "No one. Come in."
Bing Tianyi nodded and entered. Fang Qing casually closed the door and staggered over to the sofa. After sitting down, she asked Bing Tianyi, "Brother, what do you need?"
"Nothing much, just wanted to give you half a year's rent in advance," Bing Tianyi said as he took out the money from his pocket.
Fang Qing laughed heartily upon seeing this and waved her hand at him, saying, "It's not due yet; why are you in such a hurry? Come on, sit down and have a couple of drinks with your sister."
"I can't drink," Bing Tianyi replied somewhat awkwardly.
"Come on, just the two of us can finish this little bit of alcohol," Fang Qing insisted as she picked up the nearly full bottle of white wine and shook it.
Seeing the look of utter despair on Fang Qing's face along with the tear streaks on her cheeks, Bing Tianyi realized that she must be going through something painful. For someone with her cheerful personality, the only possible source of sadness might be issues with her boyfriend.
Thinking this, Bing Tianyi awkwardly asked, "Sister Qing, did that jerk bully you?"
"Don't mention that bastard in front of me!" Fang Qing shouted angrily.
Hearing this made Bing Tianyi even more uncomfortable. After sitting on the sofa for a few seconds, he tentatively stood up and smiled at Fang Qing, saying, "Sister Qing, maybe you should drink less. I'll go help out downstairs."
With that, Bing Tianyi prepared to walk out. Seeing this, Fang Qing quickly got up and grabbed his arm, slurring her words as she said, "Brother, stay with your sister today; I won't make you drink too much."
Upon hearing this, Bing Tianyi blushed and said, "I... it wouldn't be appropriate for us to be alone in the room, would it?"
Fang Qing glanced at Bing Tianyi, a mischievous smile appearing on her face as she whispered, "You little brat, where are your thoughts wandering? I just want you to keep me company and talk."
"But I still need to help my parents with their business," Bing Tianyi replied, trying to find an excuse to avoid any awkwardness.
Fang Qing's expression showed a hint of disappointment as she softly said to Bing Tianyi, "Alright then, can you come and keep your sister company after you're done? I'm feeling a bit down."
As she spoke, tears began to flow from her eyes once again without her realizing it.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi felt a pang of sympathy. After all, he rarely saw women cry, and in his mind, young girls like Fang Qing were at a disadvantage compared to men.
Thinking about this, Bing Tianyi's expression turned serious as he looked at Fang Qing and said, "Okay, I'll come talk to you after I'm done."
Fang Qing nodded and immediately hugged Bing Tianyi, kissing him on the forehead before saying directly, "Alright then, I'll be waiting for you tonight."
To be honest, when Bing Tianyi heard this, his mind inevitably began to wander. After all, Fang Qing had an attractive figure that was hard to ignore.
However, to avoid any awkwardness, Bing Tianyi gently pushed Fang Qing away and smiled as he said, "Alright then, I'll take my leave now."
After stepping outside, Bing Tianyi couldn't stop replaying the earlier scene in his mind. Especially that kiss made his heart race wildly.
Reflecting on how pathetic he felt before his suicide compared to his current life sometimes left him in disbelief. However, the unfortunate part was that he couldn't get close to women or drink or smoke for forty-nine days; otherwise, how could he have left so easily today?
Arriving at the store and finishing up business by eight in the evening, Bing Tianyi saw his tired parents and thought about visiting Fang Qing later. He approached his parents who were tidying up and smiled as he said, "You two should head home first. I'll finish cleaning up and come back myself."
"Let us help you," Mother Bing said with a smile.
"No need, you all should prepare the materials for tomorrow after you get home," Bing Tianyi said with a smile to his mother.
Father Bing, hearing this, directly told his wife, "Alright then, let our son tidy up first. We'll head home."
In truth, Father Bing had been in the same room with his son and wife for such a long time, and as a man, he naturally had his own needs. However, he often couldn't be too obvious about it. He had thought that once their son entered high school and stayed at school, he and his wife would have some time alone together. But unexpectedly, their son returned home just four or five weeks after starting school.
If there was an opportunity today, Father Bing would definitely seize it. Besides, cleaning was something Bing Tianyi could certainly handle.
Seeing the expression on Father Bing's face, Mother Bing nodded and said, "Alright then, just come back early after you're done."
"I have some things to do tonight, so I might be late or might not come back at all. You two should rest first," Bing Tianyi said straightforwardly.
Upon hearing this, Father Bing glared at his son and sternly said, "Remember what I told you. Don't mess around out there in society, understand?"
"Got it," Bing Tianyi replied with a smile.
After his parents left, Bing Tianyi finished tidying up in just twenty minutes. After washing his hands and locking the store door, he was surprised when his phone rang.
Upon answering the call, before Bing Tianyi could speak, Fang Qing directly asked him, "Are you planning to go home?"
Hearing this, Bing Tianyi looked up towards the upstairs. He hadn't expected that this girl was really waiting for him. Thinking of this, Bing Tianyi smiled and said to Fang Qing, "I thought you had drunk too much and were resting."
"No, if you don't have anything to do tonight, come over to my place," Fang Qing said softly, her voice slightly shy.
Bing Tianyi agreed and headed straight upstairs.
As soon as he reached Fang Qing's door, just like at noon, she opened the door and smiled sweetly at him. "Come in."
Bing Tianyi nodded and stepped inside, the room filled with a woman's fragrance. Compared to the smell of alcohol from earlier, this scent made Bing Tianyi feel a bit excited.
After Bing Tianyi entered, Fang Qing forced a smile on her face and said softly, "Please sit down."
Bing Tianyi moved forward and sat on the sofa while Fang Qing went to the kitchen to wash some fruits. She brought them out and placed them on the table, looking at Bing Tianyi with curiosity and asking, "Are you done with your work?"
"I'm done," Bing Tianyi replied, gazing at Fang Qing. The beauty of this young woman, along with the charm that radiated from her, suddenly made Bing Tianyi feel warm all over.
Of course, as an experienced woman, Fang Qing felt a bit shy after noticing Bing Tianyi's reaction. She lowered her head and sat on the nearby sofa, looking at Bing Tianyi curiously and asking, "You weren't angry during lunch, were you?"
"Angry about what?" Bing Tianyi asked knowingly.
Fang Qing raised her head to glance at Bing Tianyi's expression, then slowly lowered it again. With her hands resting on her thighs, she said softly, "I was really sad during lunch, so I drank some alcohol and acted a bit out of line."
"Can I say something honest?" Bing Tianyi smiled and asked Fang Qing.
"What is it?" Fang Qing inquired with some curiosity.
"Actually, you look even more beautiful after drinking."
Upon hearing this from Bing Tianyi, Fang Qing shyly laughed and said, "I didn't expect you to have such sweet words for a kid like you."
"Please don't call me a kid anymore; I'm already twenty-four this year," Bing Tianyi stated clearly to Fang Qing. Although he knew she wouldn't believe him, he still said it to catch her attention.
