After stepping out, Mo Yonggang and Old Huang hurriedly approached Bing Tianyi, looking at him with curiosity and asking, "We're dealing with land issues. What are you doing here?"
Bing Tianyi smiled mysteriously and said, "I'm also here for land matters."
"Don't joke around. This is the police station; how could it possibly relate to land issues?" Mo Yonggang said with a helpless smile.
Bing Tianyi thought to himself, "You have no idea. If there weren't some connection, I wouldn't be here for no reason."
Of course, land issues were just one aspect. Bing Tianyi knew that to establish himself in this city, he needed to get acquainted with people from three different spheres.
The first was the underground forces. Having just entered the city, he inevitably had to deal with these individuals. Moreover, they had extensive information; if he wanted to know something, he could simply ask them.
The second group consisted of political figures, especially those involved in business like him. If he didn't familiarize himself with these people, it would be nearly impossible to get their help.
Aside from these two groups, the third group was the police. From his previous experiences in Lan City, Bing Tianyi deeply understood that no matter what one did in this city, without police friends, it would be extremely difficult to accomplish anything.
For example, when his parents were running a stall at the night market in Lan City, if he had had a police friend backing him up, even if Brother Bao was powerful, he would have given them some face and not resorted to violence that could lead to his father's death.
Thus, today when he came to find Zheng Zhang, Bing Tianyi's purpose was twofold: first for land matters and second to build a rapport with Zheng Zhang.
"Don't worry, brother. If I say it's useful, it will definitely be useful," Bing Tianyi confidently said before suddenly stopping and looking around.
After a moment, he led the two of them to a stationery store on the left side across from the police station. Once inside, Bing Tianyi bought some paper and pens and wrote a few lines on it before handing it to Mo Yonggang.
"Brother, take this and go directly to the city government to find Secretary General Wang Meng. Just give her this note when you find her," Bing Tianyi said with a strange smile as he looked at Mo Yonggang seriously.
Mo Yonggang held the note and was about to take a look at it when Bing Tianyi suddenly frowned and said, "Don't look at it; if you do, my spell won't work."
Upon hearing this, Mo Yonggang was completely speechless and smiled wryly at Bing Tianyi. "A spell? If you could cast spells, would you still need to do business?"
"Brother, if you don't believe me, just watch. If things fall apart regarding the land later, it will be your responsibility," Bing Tianyi said with a mischievous smile, looking at Mo Yonggang, who seemed unconvinced.
Mo Yonggang didn't say anything and glanced at Old Huang beside him. Old Huang chuckled and said to Mo Yonggang, "Brother, I think you should just do as Bing said."
Seeing that Old Huang also agreed, Mo Yonggang had nothing more to say and could only nod with a smile, "Alright then."
After saying this, Mo Yonggang tucked the note away and turned to leave.
Once Mo Yonggang was gone, Old Huang couldn't help but ask Bing Tianyi, "Bing, what was written on that note? Why didn't you let Mo Yonggang see it?"
"It’s definitely something good," Bing Tianyi replied with a strange expression and a laugh.
Old Huang sighed upon hearing this, thinking that if Bing Tianyi claimed it was good news, then the note probably contained something quite inappropriate.
"Aren't you trying to get Manager Mo into trouble?" Old Huang lamented.
"What? Would you rather go instead?" Bing Tianyi retorted.
Old Huang quickly shook his head and said, "Forget it. At my age, just let me be."
Bing Tianyi laughed heartily at this response. "See? That's settled then."
The two strolled along the street, and before long, they arrived at a square. Bing Tianyi spotted an empty chair nearby and sat down while asking Old Huang to buy two ice creams from a stall nearby. They began to enjoy their treats.
A few minutes later, Bing Tianyi suddenly noticed a familiar figure approaching. He quickly asked Old Huang beside him, "Old Huang, isn't that Qin Qi over there?"
"The one you mentioned?" Old Huang asked curiously as he looked at the crowd.
"Yes, the girl in the black skirt," Bing Tianyi pointed out directly.
Old Huang stared straight ahead, not saying a word for a long time. Bing Tianyi, feeling curious, turned to look at Old Huang's expression and was completely taken aback.
"Hey, old man, have some dignity," Bing Tianyi said softly as he watched Old Huang drooling.
Only then did Old Huang snap back to reality and quickly said to Bing Tianyi, "That girl's legs and hips are so beautiful! If only I could have her as my wife."
"Pfft!"
Hearing this, Bing Tianyi nearly spat blood. He had seen shamelessness before, but nothing like this.
"Wait a minute, you should take a good look in the mirror first. Can you stop making a scene?" Bing Tianyi asked with a bitter smile.
Old Huang didn't seem to care, his eyes glued to the young girl in front of him as he sighed repeatedly, "Beautiful, truly beautiful. Being young is just wonderful."
Bing Tianyi couldn't help but laugh; he was at a loss for words when it came to Old Huang.
"Old man, I wanted you to see if that's Qin Qi, and instead you're drooling all over the place. Don't you think that's a bit much?" Bing Tianyi asked helplessly.
Old Huang chuckled and replied, "Too much? I don't think so at all. You have no idea about the pain of the bright moonlight by the bed."
"What do you mean?" Bing Tianyi asked curiously.
"Alright, I'll explain later. Something's happening," Old Huang said as he stood up and walked forward.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi quickly got up and grabbed Old Huang's arm, repeatedly reminding him, "Old man, take it easy. We're civilized people; don't do anything reckless."
"I want to be a hero saving the beauty; don't stop me," Old Huang said quietly as he looked ahead.
Bing Tianyi almost spat blood again: "Hero saving the beauty? You expect her to offer herself in return?"
"Hey, I have this idea," Old Huang murmured.
At this moment, Bing Tianyi's gaze also caught sight of the thief not far ahead, who seemed to have chosen his target—right in front of the Black Skirt Girl.
Rather than let this old guy take action first, it would be better for him to rush up and stop the thief directly.
"Wait a minute, old man, let's not fight over this. Let me handle this heroic deed," Bing Tianyi said seriously to Old Huang.
Old Huang shook his head and replied, "No way, I discovered it first."
"If you keep this up, I might just end up taking you down," Bing Tianyi joked with a serious expression.
Old Huang shook his head again and said, "It's fine, go ahead and play. I'm still young anyway."
Bing Tianyi was once again exasperated. Was this really considered young? Should he be looking for a nanny? Feeling helpless, Bing Tianyi simply stood his ground and walked back to the chair he had been sitting in.
Sitting back in his original spot, Bing Tianyi picked up an ice cream and started eating.
Meanwhile, Old Huang walked straight towards the Black Skirt Girl, stopping about ten meters behind her. He pretended to be casual as he took out a cigarette, lit it, and began to smoke.
The thief was completely oblivious to Old Huang's presence; his eyes were fixed on the Red Bag draped over the Short Skirt Girl. As he approached, the thief stealthily slashed the bottom of the red bag while passing by the Short Skirt Girl, effortlessly stealing the phone and wallet inside before turning to walk in another direction.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi was impressed.
He had seen thieves before, but he had never witnessed such agility.
After witnessing this scene, Old Huang shouted loudly from behind the Short Skirt Girl, "Hey, short skirt! Someone stole your wallet!"
As soon as he said that, the young man who had already walked ten meters away noticeably quickened his pace. Seeing that the thief was almost out of sight, Old Huang hurriedly chased after him while shouting, "Thief! Stop right there!"
Bing Tianyi was quite astonished. Did this old fellow really never catch a thief before? How could he just let him stand there?
As Bing Tianyi suspected, the thief, upon hearing someone shout from behind, took off running towards the street across the square. Old Huang, seeing this, also started to run forward with all his might.
To be honest, although Old Huang was older, he still had quite good agility. When he ran, he was not much different from the young people and was even faster than most of them.
In front of him, Short Skirt Girl hurriedly opened her bag and anxiously stomped her feet while shouting loudly, "Catch the thief! Catch the thief!"
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi couldn't help but chuckle to himself, thinking, "This is simply too easy!"
With a smirk in his heart, Bing Tianyi stood up and walked directly towards Short Skirt Girl. When he reached her side, he took a good look at her face and couldn't help but ask in surprise, "Qin Qiong, is that you?"
"Your dad is Black Coal Head," Short Skirt Girl frowned and sternly replied to Bing Tianyi.
Bing Tianyi furrowed his brow and said with a wry smile, "Come on, little sister, why are you cursing at me?"
"Of course! My name is Qin Yue," Qin Yue said with wide eyes as she rushed towards the direction the thief had fled while expressing her frustration to Bing Tianyi.
It suddenly dawned on Bing Tianyi that he had met her two years ago. It was right after he had just saved Qin Qi when this girl came with her parents to visit Qin Qi.
"Qin Yue, you remember me, right?" Bing Tianyi smiled and asked her.
At that moment, Qin Yue had no time for such pleasantries. After Bing Tianyi finished speaking, she bluntly told him, "Alright, stop wasting time! Can't you see my wallet has been stolen? Hurry up and help me chase him!"
