I grabbed the man's arm and whispered, "Follow me, be careful."
The man was startled by my sudden action and instinctively tried to break free, but I held on tightly. He had no choice but to lower his voice and ask, "What's going on?"
"There's a situation," I replied succinctly, pulling him toward the woods without further explanation.
Although the man was puzzled, he chose to trust me and obediently followed me into the forest.
The deeper we went into the woods, the thinner the sunlight became. The trees grew taller, their branches intertwining to block out the light, creating a stark contrast with the bright sunshine outside. A cold, eerie atmosphere permeated the air.
I slowed my pace and became more cautious, observing my surroundings. An invisible pressure enveloped me, making me feel uneasy.
"Do you sense anything?" I asked the man quietly, my gaze scanning the environment.
He shook his head, his face pale, clearly frightened by the sinister surroundings.
I let out a soft hum and said nothing more as I continued forward.
Suddenly, I felt a strong energy fluctuation coming from ahead. That familiar sensation sent a jolt through my heart.
It was the aura from the jade pendant!
A chill ran through me, and I quickened my pace, while the man stumbled behind me.
We passed through a dense thicket and arrived at a clearing.
In the center of the clearing stood a massive Bagua Formation, with eight black flags inserted at the eight cardinal points. Strange runes adorned the flags, fluttering in the gentle breeze.
A figure dressed in a black robe stood with his back to us in the center of the Bagua Formation, murmuring incantations in a low and eerie voice, as if performing some kind of ritual.
"It's him!" I recognized immediately that the black robe belonged to the mysterious Antique Dealer from the auction that day!
Suddenly, everything clicked into place; it seemed he was behind all of this!
Just as I was about to step forward to stop him, the figure in the black robe abruptly halted his chanting and turned around sharply.
His face was old and sinister, with deep-set eyes that glinted like knives, exuding an unsettling aura.
"It's you!" The black-robed man saw me, surprise flashing in his eyes before it was quickly replaced by anger. "You are the one who ruined my plans!"
His voice was hoarse, as if it came from the depths of hell, sending chills down my spine.
"Who are you? Why do you want to harm my sister?" The man could no longer contain his fury and stepped forward to confront him.
The black-robed man cast a cold glance at him, a cruel smile curling at the corners of his mouth. "Your sister? She's nothing but a sacrifice!"
"You..." The man was instantly at a loss for words, his eyes filled with anger and fear.
"Hmph, you overestimate yourself!" The figure in the black robe snorted coldly, quickly forming hand seals while chanting incantations. A powerful Energy Fluctuation erupted from his body.
"Not good!" I thought to myself, quickly pulling the man behind me while unleashing my own power, ready to face the threat.
I saw the figure in the black robe wave his hands, and the eight black flags in the Bagua Formation suddenly shone brightly. Eight streams of black mist surged into the sky, coalescing into eight hideous Demon that lunged at me and the man with bared fangs and claws!
