In the days spent weaving through the dense forest, Yezhi discovered that Wolf Child was always carefully following her from behind. According to the spy Xiao Fang sent by Yezhi, Wolf Child not only observed her and Black Treasure but also mimicked her when foraging for wild fruits, gathering Hazelnuts and Pine Nuts. When she sat down to eat, Wolf Child would do the same. While Wolf Child enjoyed the wild fruits just as much as she did, it struggled with the Pine Nuts and Hazelnuts, inadvertently chipping its teeth.
Sitting on a dead tree, Yezhi listened to Xiao Fang's report and couldn't stop laughing, only to choke on her own saliva. Black Treasure, sitting beside her and munching on a crisp Asian Pear, casually patted Yezhi's back with its chubby paw. Forgetting to wear her Bite-Resistant Armor, Yezhi almost suffered internal injuries and shot a glare at Black Treasure: this little rascal had grown taller and stronger; it seemed she could no longer bully him at will.
However, in a retaliatory move, Yezhi pulled out a paper packet of salt from her large Cloth Bag and dumped it into Black Treasure's mouth. Its small black eyes immediately filled with tears as it opened its mouth wide, panting and looking pitifully at "Mama Bear," waiting for her to bring out the brush. Yezhi laughed triumphantly; she knew that Black Treasure was afraid of brushing its teeth.
Wolf Child hid in the bushes, its bright eyes watching the interaction between Yezhi and Black Treasure. For some reason, it couldn't help but smile awkwardly as its strange laughter echoed through the forest. Suddenly, a shadow appeared before Wolf Child, causing it to instinctively retreat in alarm.
Yezhi approached Wolf Child but did not advance further. She opened her hand to reveal several shelled Pine Nuts and Hazelnuts. "Here, eat!"
After waiting for a long time without any sign of wanting to eat, Yezhi was about to withdraw her hand when Wolf Child swiftly snatched the Pine Nuts and Hazelnuts from her grasp. Seeing that Wolf Child seemed somewhat accepting of her, Yezhi enthusiastically said, "These are Pine Nuts and Hazelnuts; they're delicious! Give them a try!"
Wolf Child closed its eyes in disgust and swallowed them down while the Pet Communicator feedback read "not great," which deeply discouraged Yezhi, who loved Pine Nuts and Hazelnuts. After thinking for a moment, she took out her secret weapon for enticing children—Sugar Balls—and offered them to Wolf Child.
Black Treasure caught a whiff of the sweet aroma and excitedly leaned forward, drooling as it stared intently at Mama Bear's hand. As long as the little lady didn't eat them, it would be more than happy to help. Sensing that this black fellow beside her was eyeing her food, Wolf Child hesitated for a moment before closing its eyes and popping a Sugar Ball into its mouth. A delightful sweetness swirled in its mouth, leaving Wolf Child wide-eyed with surprise.
Yezhi quietly sat down beside Wolf Child. As it happily savored the sweetness, it became less resistant towards Yezhi who had given it the Sugar Balls. Meanwhile, Black Treasure sat pitifully on the ground licking its paw after missing out on the Sugar Balls.
After discovering that Wolf Child liked Sugar Balls, Yezhi bombarded it with more Sugar Balls. The two of them grew closer during their foraging activities, turning their gathering trips into a joyful gathering of two people and one bear.
During these days of shared joy in gathering, Yezhi stockpiled quite a bit of Mountain Goods. With Wolf Child's help as an expert climber, collecting Kiwi became much easier.
After receiving 100 pounds of Kiwi, Bai Duoya was finally free from harassment by buyers; however, his old man monopolized eighty pounds for himself and shamelessly held a tea fruit party showcasing several plates of Kiwi while boasting about "Earth's Rarity," claiming that these rare wild fruits were not available for purchase even with money before they hit the market.
Xingli received the same 100 pounds of Kiwi express delivery from Yezhi, and she was so excited that she couldn't contain herself. This was her idol Bai Duoya's favorite wild fruit, and she couldn't bear to share it with anyone else. Every night, she had to cuddle with it while sleeping. She also video-called Xiao Fang every day, asking, "When will Earth's Rarity open?" As the only staff member showcasing the wild fruit at Earth's Rarity, Xingli was the subject of envy and jealousy from many fans. Now, as a semi-celebrity, wherever she went, she attracted a 100% rate of people turning their heads. The most common question people asked her was, "When will Earth's Rarity open?"
Busy filming, Dulisa received Yezhi's Cosmic Express at the set, filled with deep green fruits. Dulisa generously treated the staff to taste them and, of course, didn't forget to send some to her dear Ye Xuan. Especially in front of reporters, Dulisa took a bite out of the deep green skin to reveal the oily green flesh inside. The sweet flavor made her silver eyes close in happiness as she sighed in a sexy and charming voice, "I absolutely love this taste!"
After Dulisa's tasting report on Earth's Rarity went viral on Cosmic Network, she pointed at the report projected on screen and said, "Dear Ye, isn't your sister generous? I'm giving you free advertising."
After watching the 3D report, Yezhi was covered in goosebumps. "Sister Du, your advertisement is quite scandalous; my pure fruit has been implicated by you. Can't you just eat properly?"
Dulisa casually picked up something and threw it at Yezhi, startling her into covering her head and running around. Initially very angry, Dulisa saw Yezhi jumping around like a clown and muttered, "Idiot!" before cutting off the video call.
"Master, your performance was so exaggerated!" Xiao Fang seriously criticized her master's acting skills while Yezhi laughed and casually sprawled on the grass.
After a busy week, Yezhi finally didn’t have to go up the mountain and could happily stay at home. After breakfast, she began sorting through her harvest from the mountain: six sacks of Pine Nuts and Hazelnuts; five baskets of Kiwi; three baskets of Mountain Grapes; one basket of mountain mushrooms; one basket of Yam; and one basket of mushrooms. In the front yard, there were also three flying dragons and three wild chickens. Originally there were five flying dragons, but yesterday when Yezhi caught them returning to the village, she happened to run into Village Uncle. She would have gladly given them to Village Uncle but didn’t want to share with the ten outsiders who stayed in their village.
Although Yezhi spent more time in the mountains recently, it didn’t mean she was unaware of what was happening in the village. Among those ten outsiders, four came from the severely affected Wujia Village while Wu Yi Village and Wu Er Village each sent three.
When this group arrived at the Field and saw the plump cabbages and lush radish tops, they were overjoyed beyond measure. The joy of harvest rejuvenated them all. Except for three women who moved into villagers' homes, the seven men camped out by the Field as if guarding their rice paddies.
In the evening, Er Niu pulled up two radishes from her own Field when Aunt from Wujia Village caught her red-handed while delivering dinner. This Aunt was formidable; not only did she snatch away the plump white radish from Er Niu's arms, but she also dragged Er Niu by her arm to demand an explanation from Village Uncle.
Uncle Zhou was busy working in the Field when he saw this situation unfold. He dropped what he was doing and rushed over. "Big sister, what's going on here?"
The Aunt from Wujia Village exclaimed angrily, "This little girl is misbehaving and stealing radishes from the Field!"
Panicking Er Niu felt pain in her arm as it was gripped tightly by this Aunt but didn’t cry. However, when this Aunt accused her of misbehaving and being a thief, Er Niu couldn't hold back her tears any longer as she cried out loudly: "I didn't misbehave! I didn't steal anything..."
When Uncle Zhou heard that Er Niu was being accused of misbehaving, he clenched his fists. The aggrieved cries of Er Niu made Uncle Zhou, who usually preferred to downplay conflicts, respond sharply, "You old hag, clean up your mouth! What stealing? Let go of her!"
"What’s going on?" A crowd from the neighboring village rushed over. The residents of Zhou Family Village, who were busy in the field like Uncle Zhou, also shouted, "What’s happening?" as they ran over.
Seeing her fellow villagers arrive, the Aunt from Wujia Village held onto Er Niu tightly and shouted loudly, "This little girl is a thief! Look! This is the dirty stuff."
The people from Wujia Village, along with those from Wu Yi Village and Wu Er Village, were stunned and didn’t quite understand what was happening. An old man named Old Zhao asked, "What’s going on?"
The young woman who had insulted Yezhi yelled, "I get it now! You little brat, how can you be so bad!" While saying this, she poked Er Niu on the head. This infuriated Uncle Zhou, who angrily pushed the two women aside and picked up the sobbing Er Niu. "What kind of thing is it for two women to bully a child!"
"Oh, this uncle is turning the tables! Is this how you people from Zhoujiatun behave?" the young woman sneered.
The residents of Zhou Family Village who had just arrived said angrily, "What do you mean by that? Explain yourself."
After whispering among themselves, the Aunt turned to Old Zhao, who spoke seriously, "You people from Zhoujiatun can't do this. Half of the cabbages and radishes in this field belong to our three villages; they are our lifeline."
"Uncle Zhao, what do you mean?" Da Zhu asked as he arrived with the Old Accountant.
"You from Zhoujiatun have no right to pick cabbages and radishes from this field without permission. If you keep taking from different places, won’t our share keep getting smaller?" Old Zhao said angrily.
This statement made the hardworking residents of Zhou Family Village feel uneasy. They had always been kind-hearted and willing to help their fellow villages suffering from disasters.
