Finally, it has been sent out. Little Sword made a slip of the tongue, and there will be an update tonight. By the way, I've recently hit a writer's block, but today I finally managed to sort things out, so future updates should return to normal.
“Chutong, we meet again,” Houston said in a calm tone.
However, to Chuyang, it felt somewhat sarcastic. When they met yesterday, Houston had the same attitude, but he shouldn't have offended her! Thinking about Houston's position in the Gendarmerie, Chuyang couldn't shake off a sense of unease.
“Houston, Penelope, hello. Welcome to inspect our work,” Chuyang said with a forced smile.
“Smooth talker; it's clear you're not a good person,” Houston thought to herself. Due to her preconceived notions, she found everything about Chuyang displeasing, though she maintained a professional demeanor.
“Chutong, we are not leaders. The supplies in the two containers on the ship are your provisions for this month. Since you just took office, we are delivering them for your first month. After this, you'll have to pick them up from the office yourself.”
As she spoke, Houston tilted her head and pulled several documents from her briefcase, handing them to Chuyang. “This is the inventory list. If you’re not sure, feel free to verify it yourself. If everything checks out, please sign at the bottom of the confirmation letter and stamp it with your Naval Base seal; I need that for my records.”
Without caring whether Chuyang understood or not, Houston stuffed all the documents into his hands and pulled Richelieu aside, whispering something.
“Admiral, hand me the inventory list!” Lexington tied her long hair into a ponytail with a rubber band and rolled up her shirt sleeves, ready to board the ship and check the goods.
“Let’s do it together!” Chuyang felt a bit embarrassed letting Lexington handle everything.
“No need,” Lexington gently shook her head and adjusted Chuyang’s slightly wrinkled collar. “Admiral, you just keep an eye on these two little troublemakers.”
With that, Lexington poked her fingers on the foreheads of both Firefly and Andrea Doria.
In the morning, after Saratoga and Isuzu drove away from the Naval Base in a Truck, Lexington was busy tidying up the Admiral's office in the office building and didn't pay attention to the two little Kiddos, allowing them to play around the Naval Base.
However, when she had almost finished cleaning and was about to check on the kitchen, she discovered that five or six windows on the back of the Comprehensive Building had been shattered. Firefly and Andrea Doria were standing at the bottom of the building, with Andrea Doria holding a slingshot that she had found somewhere.
Andrea Doria was telling Firefly that when she was in Rongcheng, Zhang Rui's grandfather had made her a slingshot, and she had used it to shoot many little birds. While saying this, she demonstrated to Firefly. Just then, Lexington watched as another piece of glass from a window in the kitchen was broken.
"Firefly wasn't being naughty; it was all Sister Airi's doing," Loli said without hesitation, throwing Andrea Doria under the bus.
"Hmph! Little traitor, I won't take you to play anymore," Andrea Doria huffed lightly, turning her little head away. Perhaps she knew she had done something wrong and was a bit hesitant to meet Lexington's gaze.
But there were parents who spoiled their Brats. Saratoga approached Andrea Doria and whispered, "Don't worry, even if that slingshot was confiscated by my sister, I'll make you another one this afternoon. But you can't break windows anymore. If you really want to practice on glass windows, just wait until Prince of Wales comes back; you can aim for her windows."
Speaking of Sister-in-law, what kind of grudge do you have against Prince of Wales that you always focus on her windows?
"Okay." Andrea Doria's eyes suddenly lit up. Her Big Sister Veneto didn't get along with Prince of Wales either; why hadn't she thought of this before? This idea was great.
"You, you."
Although she couldn't hear clearly what her sister said, just from their expressions, it was evident that Saratoga had probably given Andrea Doria some bad idea again, but it didn't matter.
In the past, because the Admiral wasn't at the Naval Base, whenever something happened—like Aoba feeding Quincy chives or Bluefin Tuna lifting Daito's skirt or Fantasy arguing with Shoukaku about who was the fastest Fleet Girl at the Naval Base—it would always be blamed on her for not managing everyone well as a Secretary Ship and ruining the atmosphere at the Naval Base.
But now it was different; the Admiral had returned. He was the real head of the family, and these petty issues would no longer fall on her shoulders.
"Brother-in-law." After giving Andrea Doria an idea, Saratoga approached Chuyang and said, "Brother-in-law, look how capable my sister is; I think you should divorce Richelieu!"
Until now, Sister-in-law still held a grudge against Richelieu for what happened that morning.
"What are you saying? If your brother-in-law were to divorce Richelieu, you'd be happy!" Lexington was not going to be polite to her sister and directly slapped Saratoga on the head.
"Besides, what do you take your brother-in-law for? He is an Admiral; his words carry weight. If it were as you said, then I think it would be you who should be divorced."
"Sis, you're my real sister. If you hit me again, I won't grow taller."
"How old are you now? You should be done growing."
"I at least want to grow as tall as Richelieu." Saratoga glanced at Richelieu, who had already walked off with Houston.
Among the three Elder Sister-Class Shipgirls under Chuyang's command, Richelieu was undoubtedly the tallest, standing at about 1.7 meters. Although she was ten centimeters shorter than Chuyang, women generally appear taller, and when standing next to Chuyang, it was hard to tell who was taller. Fortunately, Richelieu wasn't wearing particularly high heels; otherwise, standing together with Chuyang would make them look like they were in a three-legged race.
On the other hand, Saratoga was undoubtedly the shortest, around 1.65 meters tall. For Saratoga, who constantly compared herself to Richelieu, losing out in height made Sister-in-law feel quite dissatisfied.
"Alright, don't say such things in front of the Admiral again," Lexington shot her sister a glare.
Although she knew that Saratoga was just joking and that the Admiral wouldn't take it seriously, such jokes were not appropriate. Richelieu was relatively fine; aside from the Admiral, she remained indifferent towards everyone else and didn't care much about what others said. But if it were Bismarck, who took everything seriously and compared herself constantly, that would be a different story.
"Okay, got it!"
