The originally joyful atmosphere suddenly fell into an awkward situation due to Fei Hu's unwilling agreement, leaving everyone silent except for the sound of tea being poured.
"What is this? Even if I agree, there should be a better way to do it, as if it's my obligation," Fei Hu thought to himself, feeling a bit angry.
A-Lian finally couldn't hold back any longer. She smiled and said, "Nothing can be forced. Besides, everyone has their own aspirations. Fei Hu has his own thoughts; after all, we are just a bunch of nobodies. Having him as our leader does seem a bit like wasting his talent."
"Wasting talent? What a joke! Working as a security guard every day, what future is there? It's just a lack of ambition despite having skills," Xiao Qi turned around and shouted directly at Fei Hu. He was left speechless by her reprimand because her argument was sound.
Bald Zhang nodded in agreement with Xiao Qi's statement. Fei Hu felt frustrated but couldn't find a way to vent his feelings, so he continued drinking tea cup after cup.
"Fei Hu, although we met by chance and don't know each other well, you are indeed a good person. In just a few encounters, I've already considered you a friend. Having one more friend in this world means one more path. You should take the lead for us! As Xiao Qi said, being a security guard really leads nowhere. If you help us out, it might also create a beneficial path for your own development," A-Lian spoke earnestly, clearly putting in her best effort.
Fei Hu wasn't foolish; he could tell whether something was good or bad. However, this situation came unexpectedly. In the midst of drinking tea, he was suddenly made the leader. Fei Hu still felt a bit uneasy because he knew that once he took on this role, everyone would have to listen to him. But what kind of people were Brother Guang's crew? And what did A-Lian's group do? Fei Hu knew all too well; he truly had no confidence in leading these people.
"Hahaha, Brother Fei Hu, I see now that you look down on us. But if you think about it carefully, you'll understand that heroes don't ask about their origins. Society encompasses all kinds of people from various backgrounds. Regardless of the profession, the most basic goal is survival. We are actually quite similar; letting you be our leader doesn't mean taking us anywhere grand but rather uniting some weaker groups so we won't be bullied by larger gangs anymore," Bald Zhang said seriously, showing that he had some wisdom.
After much discussion from A-Lian and Bald Zhang, they forced Fei Hu into a corner where he had no choice but to say, "I need to think this over and will give you an answer in three days."
Although this response wasn't perfect, everyone could reluctantly accept it.
When Fei Hu returned to Sun Li's house, it was almost midnight. He quickly washed up and hurried to bed; if Sun Li found out he came home so late, she would definitely scold him.
"Alright! As long as he recovers from his injuries, it doesn't matter where he stays. Xiaofei will get a card and have Yingzi deliver it to him. Once he's completely fine, I'll personally host a banquet to celebrate his recovery. Also about the Annual Meeting, you two need to keep an eye on things; there mustn't be any issues. The most important thing is to prevent those two troublemakers from causing any disruptions," Ye Cheng said seriously while assigning tasks to Ye Xiaofei and Yingzi.
Yingzi replied, "Got it, Grandpa. Don't worry; I'll take care of these matters." After saying that, she turned and left.
Just as Yingzi opened the car door and was about to get in, Ye Xiaofei climbed in from the other side. She smiled and said, "I also want to go see this guy. It's been so many days, and I feel a bit guilty for not showing up."
"That guy?" Yingzi asked deliberately.
Ye Xiaofei just couldn't let go of her high-and-mighty attitude. She had been wanting to see Fei Hu all along but couldn't bring herself to say it. Today, she finally had the chance and mustered the courage to follow him, only to be teased by Yingzi. Frowning slightly, she said angrily, "Which damn Fei Hu? Who else could it be?"
"Hahaha, if you had just said his name, it would have been fine. He's not damn at all. Right now, he's at Head Nurse's place. If you want to see him, you really can't because that Head Nurse is very unwilling to let anyone meet him. I've already hit a wall," Yingzi said with a laugh.
Upon hearing this, Ye Xiaofei raised her eyebrows and asked, "Is this woman single? Why is she so domineering? Fei Hu isn't her private property."
"It seems she's single. Their relationship is quite special; I don't know anything else," Yingzi replied helplessly.
Ye Xiaofei cursed, "He's just a big pervert; don't think he's anything good." After saying that, she slammed the car door and left, leaving Yingzi confused about who Ye Xiaofei was angry with.
Fei Hu woke up from his nap and smelled a strong medicinal scent. He realized that Sun Li might have come back. When he looked at the watch on the table, he panicked; it was already eleven o'clock. He had overslept too much. Hurriedly getting dressed, he walked into the living room and saw Sun Li bending over to mop the floor. Her beautiful body curves were revealed through her thin nightgown, which was very enticing. Unable to resist, Fei Hu stepped forward and hugged Sun Li tightly.
Sun Li gasped in surprise, and they both fell onto the large sofa in the living room. Fei Hu panted heavily as he pressed down on her. When his thick lips captured Sun Li's soft ones, the pent-up desire within him ignited like a flame. His hands became restless as they squeezed her two full breasts; Sun Li beneath him let out joyful sounds.
As Fei Hu's hands slowly moved downward toward Sun Li's most private area, she suddenly pushed his hands away and whispered, "No, your relatives are here."
Fei Hu froze for a moment before sitting up in disappointment. What bad luck! It felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over him, extinguishing the fire in his heart.
"Understand that it's hard being a woman," Sun Li said as she sat up and patted Fei Hu's shoulder before continuing to mop the floor.
Fei Hu shook his head helplessly and recalled the rules Sun Li had set for him—one of which was not to touch women. He stood up to stretch his muscles and asked Sun Li, who was busy working, "What do you think about the thugs in society, like Dragon Tiger Gang?"
Sun Li paused, straightened up, and glanced at Fei Hu before saying, "Not much to see, really. These kinds of gangs have existed throughout history, from China to abroad; they are an inevitable product of society." After saying this, Sun Li went back to work.
This was a bit profound, and Fei Hu listened with a sense of confusion. People with knowledge certainly spoke differently. However, what Fei Hu was sure of was that these gangs seemed to exist not only in City A but also in many other places.
Everything continued as usual: taking medicine, eating, sleeping, and watching TV. Fei Hu felt that time passed quickly, and soon it was time for dinner. While eating, Sun Li said to Fei Hu, "You're going out tonight, but come back early. You're still a patient; if you don't take care of yourself, you'll have lasting effects. At that point, it will be too late to regret."
Upon hearing this, Fei Hu's heart sank. It turned out that Sun Li knew everything. He thought he had been discreet, but it seemed that if one wanted to keep something hidden from others, they must not do it themselves.
After Sun Li left, Fei Hu lay back on the sofa. He didn't even turn on the TV; his mind was filled with what Bald Zhang and A-Lian had told him last night. Upon reflection, it was true that working as a security guard couldn't last a lifetime; there would be no way up. However, living life on the edge like this wasn't sustainable either.
The phone rang again, and Fei Hu was annoyed. He almost didn't want to answer it. When he grabbed the phone and saw it was Yingzi calling, he had no choice but to pick up. Yingzi's refreshing voice came through the line: "Hello! Fei Hu, how are you doing now?"
"Hahaha! I'm eating well, sleeping well, and moving around freely. What do you think?" Fei Hu joked with Yingzi over the phone.
Yingzi paused for a moment before saying, "Is Sun Li at work? If you're home alone and it's convenient for you, why don't you come out for a bit? You choose the place; I'll drive over."
Without thinking twice, Fei Hu readily agreed: "Sure! What's inconvenient about that? I'll tell you the name of the place; just remember it." He then repeated the name of the place he had visited last night.
Checking the time, Fei Hu locked the doors and windows and happily headed toward the teahouse.
As the lights began to shine brightly in the evening sky, creating a beautiful scene, Fei Hu had no mind to admire it. He walked with his head down, wondering if Yingzi just wanted to sit down with him or if there was something more...
