"Admitting defeat, it's as simple as that. But what about the injured sisters? I think, in order to make you truly accept this, let's settle it outside in the courtyard. We can have a one-on-one or a group fight, and you can choose how it goes. What do you say?" A-Lian suddenly shouted angrily from behind Fei Hu.
Six Brother wiped the sweat off his face and said in a low voice, "I will cover all the medical expenses for everyone who was injured. This time, it was my fault for not recognizing the situation, and I apologize for any offense caused. Let's consider this matter settled." Upon hearing this, Fei Hu slowly relaxed his tense heart. He had come prepared for a fight when he entered.
Seeing Six Brother's sincere attitude, Fei Hu was moved. He turned back to discuss with Bald Zhang and A-Lian for a moment. In truth, none of them were naturally combative; resolving things peacefully was certainly the best option. After reaching a consensus, Fei Hu turned around and gestured for Six Brother to sit down. Then he spoke loudly, "Since you are willing to admit defeat, then it's up to you. We have six people who were injured by your subordinates. As for how much compensation is appropriate, you can decide. Just have someone deliver it tomorrow. I believe it's better to move on from this; once we start fighting, it won't benefit anyone."
Six Brother cupped his fist towards Fei Hu and said loudly, "You really surprised me; I underestimated you. At such a young age, you are already the leader of so many people. Let's part ways here; perhaps we'll meet again." With that, he turned and led his subordinates away.
A-Lian stood at the door and shouted outside, "Feng Jie, see them off!" Fei Hu understood that without A-Lian's shout, it would have been impossible for Six Brother to leave through the door.
Watching the group leave in a hurry, Fei Hu finally asked A-Lian, "The injuries aren't too serious, right?"
"It's fine; they just got a little scraped during the pushing," A-Lian replied with a smile, appearing quite relaxed. "They might be starting work now under Xiao Qi's leadership."
Bald Zhang shook his head and said, "No way! You are too ruthless as a boss. Today is just a minor holiday. Besides, things were chaotic just now; how can you let them work? You're really something."
"Big brother! We have a shipment to deliver early tomorrow morning; we just started working. If we don't maintain our credibility now, who will deal with us in the future? It wasn't chaotic; didn't the boss come? And with Brother Guang bringing so many people over, how many of them are there? The boss alone can handle them," A-Lian said this and everyone started cheering; the room instantly became lively.
Just then, Feng Jie strode in and laughed heartily, "These bastards didn't even give me a chance to fight back! It's all Bald Zhang's fault; I told him not to call the boss over. Once he came, he scared everyone away—who would dare to fight? Seriously!" Feng Jie shook her head as she spoke, looking quite comical and eliciting another round of laughter from everyone.
Once everyone finished laughing, Fei Hu's expression turned serious as he said, "That guy clearly underestimated our strength tonight. Do you think after he goes back he will change his mind and not send money but instead find more help to come back here and cause trouble again?"
"No, no matter what, he's still a man who stands to urinate. He wouldn't do something like that. Besides, in this line of work, everyone values their reputation. If he did that, how would he survive out there in the future? When they went out just now, I took a glance and recognized him. He used to run errands for the Dragon Tiger Gang but somehow got kicked out. Relying on some old connections, he gathered a crew and started playing on the edges where no one was watching. However, I've heard that he has a relative in the police department, which is why he's so bold," Feng Jie answered decisively.
Fei Hu glanced at his watch; it was almost ten o'clock, and there were still so many people outside. He felt a bit guilty and asked Bald Zhang, "How many people did you bring tonight?"
"About sixty or seventy! What's up, boss?" Bald Zhang asked, somewhat confused.
Fei Hu paused for a moment and said, "How about this? It's so cold outside; let's take everyone out for a late-night snack! I'll treat, and A-Lian, let your sisters join us too."
Bald Zhang's eyes lit up upon hearing this. He laughed and said, "Great! It's the first time the boss is treating us. No matter what, we all have to go. Even if it's just takeout, we're happy with it."
A-Lian shot a glare at Bald Zhang and said, "Seriously? The boss only makes so much in a month. How can he treat seventy or eighty people? Tomorrow, if Six Brother really sends over the medical expenses, I'll cover it all for dinner. If that's not enough, I'll chip in too. How does that sound?"
Hearing A-Lian say this touched Fei Hu's heart. But with so many people involved, words once spoken are like water poured out; moreover, this situation arose because of him. Treating everyone to a meal seemed perfectly appropriate. So he immediately stood up and said loudly, "Alright, it's settled then! I just got my paycheck today; it's only right that we celebrate together!"
"Count me in!" Yingzi suddenly walked in from outside. It was then that Fei Hu realized he had been inside for so long while Yingzi had been waiting outside, making him feel a bit embarrassed.
Everyone stood up to greet Yingzi. A-Lian asked in surprise, "What are you doing here?"
Yingzi smiled and replied, "We were having dinner together when he got a call and rushed off. I figured it must be urgent; otherwise, he wouldn't have left like that. So I drove him here. I noticed everyone else had left already and thought it was strange that there was no movement at all. I couldn't wait any longer, so I came in to check."
Fei Hu sheepishly scratched his head and chuckled, "I really forgot about you in my rush earlier."
Yingzi shook her head and said, "It's fine; I was just joking. I brought money; let's go!" She leaned closer to Fei Hu and spoke in a very low voice. Hearing this gave Fei Hu some confidence.
"Let's go! We need to celebrate the Little New Year together, or else the restaurant's boss will close up!" Fei Hu shouted loudly, pulling Bald Zhang along as everyone rushed forward.
Fortunately, there was a car, and since they weren't too picky, Feng Jie pointed to a nearby food stall and exclaimed, "How about this one? It looks like they can set up seven or eight tables without a problem." Bald Zhang and A-Lian agreed, so Yingzi had no choice but to stop the car. The pickup truck behind them, along with some old, shabby vehicles, parked awkwardly behind X1, creating a rather mismatched scene.
When the boss of the restaurant saw so many people arriving, he should have been happy, but instead he shook his head and said, "I'm sorry, everyone. We've run out of dishes today. You might want to try another place!"
Bald Zhang was furious upon hearing this. He shouted, "You've run out of food, yet you're still open? Are you messing with us?" The boss looked a bit frightened at Bald Zhang and glanced nervously behind him.
Fei Hu sensed something was off. He stepped forward and smiled at the boss, saying, "Brother, I'm their leader. Let me talk to you. We need eight tables of food in total. Just cook whatever you have; as long as you put your heart into it, I won't shortchange you. Don't be afraid; these people may seem rough, but they're all good folks."
The boss didn't expect Fei Hu to be not only neatly dressed but also polite in his speech; he really did seem like a boss. However, he still hesitated. Seeing this, Yingzi quickly walked over with a smile: "Brother, if you don't trust him, you can at least trust me! That car up front is mine; remember the license plate. If anything happens, you can call the police! Besides, how much could a few tables of food cost? I can afford it."
At that moment, the Boss Lady came out from behind and smiled: "It's okay; this guy is just timid. Please understand; we've never seen so many people together before, especially this late at night for dinner. And those guys behind look quite intimidating," she joked while pulling the boss along as they headed to the back.
Fei Hu called everyone to sit down and laughed: "Do I really look that scary? It seems I won't dare to go out alone at night anymore."
A-Lian chuckled: "You look fine enough; it's just your hair. Anyone with common sense can see that! You should wear a hat when you go out!"
Just as A-Lian finished speaking, Xiao Qi suddenly popped out from somewhere and took off her hat, placing it directly on Fei Hu's head while exclaiming loudly: "This is a gift for the big boss! Look how cool he looks wearing it!"
Everyone burst into laughter at the sight. Xiao Qi's hat had pom-poms hanging from both sides; when Fei Hu wore it, his cuteness turned into something rather comical.
