The world for two is so beautiful; they quietly enjoy it, letting time slip by unnoticed. Nightfall arrives suddenly, and a strong wind rises by the seaside. Ye Xiaofei leans against Fei Hu as they walk step by step toward the car parked by the beach.
Driving back to the city, Ye Xiaofei remembers to invite Fei Hu to dinner this time. They choose a small restaurant that is elegant and tranquil, seemingly designed for young couples in love. As Fei Hu and Ye Xiaofei enter, they notice that most of the diners are couples, regardless of age, as if it were intentionally arranged. Fortunately, Fei Hu and Ye Xiaofei have not gone to the wrong place.
The waitstaff here are equally gentle and soft-spoken, as if afraid of disturbing others. Ye Xiaofei comfortably leans against Fei Hu, leaving the ordering to him. For him, it’s simple; he usually just wants enough to eat. As for the finer details, they don't matter much to someone with his hearty appetite.
Soft music fills the room, making dining in such an environment a rare pleasure. The dishes arrive quickly at their table. Fei Hu nudges Ye Xiaofei, who has her eyes half-closed, lost in the music. They begin their first private meal together. Ye Xiaofei smiles and asks Fei Hu, "Want to have a little drink?"
Fei Hu shakes his head and replies, "Forget it! You still have to drive, and it wouldn't be fun for me to drink alone."
"It's fine; you drink while I watch. I just love seeing how bold you are when you drink," Ye Xiaofei says as she orders half a jin of Maotai from the waiter. This makes Fei Hu feel quite pleased; he can count on one hand how many times he has had such good wine.
With fine wine in hand and a beautiful companion by his side, Fei Hu feels almost intoxicated without even drinking. Just as he revels in this moment, his phone rings. In such a quiet setting, the ringtone sounds like a monster; people at the neighboring table glance over curiously. Fei Hu silently curses under his breath, "What are you looking at? Have you never seen a phone before?"
Seeing Fei Hu's slightly flustered expression, Ye Xiaofei gently urges him, "Answer it! Why aren’t you answering?"
Fei Hu grits his teeth and presses the answer button. He knows he should pick up, but the call is from Wang Qian. He feels uncomfortable being seen as an oddity by everyone around him; he'd rather not answer this call at all. However, with Ye Xiaofei pushing him, he has no choice but to pick up.
"Hello! Why didn’t you want to answer my call?" Wang Qian's somewhat flirtatious voice comes through the receiver.
Fei Hu covers the phone with his hands and lowers his voice to the minimum level, saying softly, "The signal here is poor; we can't hear well. I'll call you back when we get home." Without waiting for a response from her side, he hangs up.
"There's nothing wrong; why say there's no signal? Just lower your voice a bit! If she has something urgent to discuss, aren't you delaying things?" Ye Xiaofei says softly. Her voice sounds even more melodious than any song to Fei Hu's ears.
Due to Wang Qian's reckless phone call, the meal lost its earlier enjoyment. Fei Hu ate quickly, fearing that the woman might call again. In no time, he finished eating, wiped his mouth, and sat aside watching Ye Xiaofei eat.
However, Ye Xiaofei also ate quickly. By the time they reached the car, Fei Hu glanced at his watch and saw it was already past eleven at night. He couldn't believe how time had flown. After drinking a bit and feeling the gentle breeze, along with Ye Xiaofei by his side, he felt tipsy without actually being drunk. Fei Hu swayed slightly, humming a tune, reluctant to get in the car. Ye Xiaofei laughed and chased after him on the street, clearly very happy.
At that moment, a black sedan suddenly stopped nearby. Five burly men got out of the car and slowly surrounded Fei Hu and Ye Xiaofei. The parking area was somewhat secluded, and with the streetlights having not been repaired for years, the road was quite dim. So when these men approached, the feigned drunkenness of Fei Hu vanished instantly. He immediately pulled Ye Xiaofei behind him.
"Hahaha! Life is full of unexpected encounters; meeting you really feels like a dream. You kid sure knows how to enjoy life; you managed to hook up with such a bright girl. How about lending her to us for a few days?" The speaker was Poison Wolf, who had crossed paths with Fei Hu at the casino last time. It seemed that where there were good things happening, bad things followed closely behind; tonight's situation was likely going to escalate.
Fei Hu shrugged slightly, discreetly loosening his muscles and coldly said, "Just say what you want directly; there's no need for beating around the bush or dragging a woman into this."
"Straightforward! I like that! Last time we tried to invite you but you refused us. Who would have thought we'd run into you here? This must be fate. Actually, it's nothing serious; it's just that last time during a fight, over thirty of my brothers were lightly injured and six seriously hurt. Since you're their boss, you should cover some medical expenses," Poison Wolf said, his eyes gleaming with malice.
Fei Hu chuckled and replied, "You're trying to extort me; even if I had it, I wouldn't give it."
"That's not good! If you leave this girl behind, you can go," Poison Wolf said while greedily eyeing Ye Xiaofei.
"How much? I'll pay you," Ye Xiaofei suddenly stepped forward and shouted.
Upon hearing someone willing to pay, Poison Wolf was naturally pleased. He looked at Ye Xiaofei with lewd eyes and said, "Not much; since a beauty is offering, let's say fifty thousand! Cash upfront and you can leave immediately; otherwise, don't blame us for being rude."
At this point, Fei Hu could no longer hold back. He pushed Ye Xiaofei away forcefully and dashed forward like lightning. With a swift motion of his left hand and a powerful strike from his right hand, he shouted, "Ten thousand is yours!"
Poison Wolf didn't expect this kid to be so fierce and thought he could take on five by himself. It was too late for him to react as he hurriedly jumped aside like a monkey. He managed to evade but one of his companions wasn't so lucky; there was a sharp scream as Fei Hu's punch sent him flying two meters before crashing to the ground. Perhaps due to having his arm bandaged, he struggled twice but couldn't get back up.
Seeing Fei Hu injure someone right off the bat, Poison Wolf shouted, "Old Two! Old Five! Let's all three go at him together! I don't believe we can't take this kid down!"
Fei Hu had been drinking, which gave him courage, and with Ye Xiaofei by his side, he was determined to protect her from any harm. He decided to go all out. "Three against one? I'll use the Tiger Fist. No need for chatter." With that thought, Fei Hu glanced at the wall behind him.
“Watch out for them, Fei Hu!” Ye Xiaofei suddenly shouted from a distance.
As soon as Ye Xiaofei's voice fell, Poison Wolf and Third Brother charged at him simultaneously. Two of them aimed for his legs while one attacked from above. Normally, anyone would be caught off guard, but Fei Hu was no ordinary person. With his exceptional skills and boldness, he suddenly sprang into action, using both hands to meet Poison Wolf's fists, leveraging the force to leap back two meters.
Seeing this, Poison Wolf laughed heartily, “Where do you think you're going?” They noticed that behind Fei Hu was a brick wall, effectively trapping him in a four-sided assault. They were determined to turn him into a meat pie tonight.
The three of them shouted as they charged forward. Just as they were about twenty centimeters away from Fei Hu, he let out a roar and leaped straight up from the ground. In mid-air, he suddenly lunged forward, pushing off the wall with his feet like a descending tiger. In an instant, two of Poison Wolf's brothers fell to the ground in confusion, each clutching an arm with their shirts torn open at the shoulders, revealing streaks of blood despite the dim light.
This left Poison Wolf terrified. Trembling, he shouted, “Are you human or ghost? This skill is incredible! I've been around for years and have never seen anything like it!”
Fei Hu sneered, “In the world of martial arts, there are always stronger opponents. You haven't seen much yet!” As soon as he finished speaking, he delivered a flying kick. Perhaps still shaken by Fei Hu's earlier display of strength, Poison Wolf didn't even attempt to dodge and took the full force of the kick. With a loud thud, he was sent crashing against the wall and then rebounded onto the ground.
The fight ended just like that. The two men with bandaged hands watched their fallen comrade from a distance but dared not approach. Fei Hu waved at them and said, “Come over and take them away.”
With assistance, Poison Wolf managed to stand up. Shaking slightly, he grinned and said, “Impressive! You're the first person I've genuinely admired in all these years. When I get the chance, I’ll definitely pay you a visit.”
Fei Hu scoffed, “Visit? Who knows if I’ll even be around next year.”
A cold little hand covered Fei Hu's mouth; Ye Xiaofei had unknowingly nestled into his embrace.
