"Ha ha ha! You, Sisi, took advantage of me being drunk and made your move early. Did you succeed?" Li Qin was just as bold, speaking without any reservations. People from outside the country really have different mindsets, and this left Fei Hu speechless.
Chen Sisi glanced at Fei Hu, pouting, "I wouldn't even look at him. I just noticed his clothes were filthy and didn't want to dirty your bed, so I washed them. That's all I did." As she spoke, Chen Sisi deliberately made a face at Fei Hu.
Li Qin pointed at Chen Sisi's head and said, "You! You have the heart of a thief but not the courage. You washed his clothes but didn't give him a bath; isn't that the same? You can't tell me you also helped him take a bath!" Once Li Qin said this, Chen Sisi truly felt embarrassed. She lunged at Li Qin, and the two of them ended up in a heap together; these women were quite wild.
At that moment, the maid called to ask if dinner was ready and whether everyone wanted to eat in the restaurant or have it brought up to the third floor. Li Qin and Chen Sisi finally stopped their antics, both of them laughing with flushed faces. The three of them got up and headed downstairs. Surprisingly, after not eating all day, Fei Hu didn’t even feel hungry; it seemed he had really been living foolishly these days.
The wealthy dined lavishly for dinner. Fei Hu was unreserved, eating whatever he liked. In no time, he felt much better in his stomach. While eating, Fei Hu suddenly checked his pocket and asked anxiously, "Hey! Where's my phone? Miss Chen, have you seen it?"
Chen Sisi angrily placed her chopsticks on the table and scolded, "Miss Chen? How rude! I'm not a hostess; you can either call me by my name or just Sisi. I think we’re not that distant; it's not our first meeting."
"Right! What Sisi said makes sense. You two shouldn't be so distant; you've met before," Li Qin added with a strange smile, prompting Chen Sisi to get ready to retaliate.
Fei Hu quickly waved his hands and said, "Stop it! Isn't it good that I'm listening to you? Just tell me where my phone is; please don't let me lose it."
"Is there anyone as silly as you? I washed your clothes, so of course your wallet and phone are on the table in the bedroom on the third floor. But I turned off your phone because I was worried it would disturb your sleep. I'm quite considerate towards you, aren't I?" Chen Sisi said while throwing a flirtatious glance at Fei Hu.
The three of them fell silent again. After they finished eating, the maid brought out some fruit. This kind of quality life made Fei Hu feel very satisfied; if he could live like this someday, then his life wouldn’t have been in vain.
Jokes aside, Chen Sisi showed a very attentive demeanor towards Fei Hu with every gesture. As soon as the fruit arrived, she took the initiative to peel an orange for him and handed it over with a look in her eyes that made Fei Hu feel something was off. Wasn't she getting married? How could she treat another man like this without making her husband jealous?
Finally unable to hold back any longer, Fei Hu smiled slightly and asked, "Sisi, I heard last time that you're getting married soon? How come I can't see any bride-like qualities in you?"
"After Fei Hu said that, Li Qin was momentarily taken aback. She didn't speak, but Chen Sisi laughed and said, 'What a ridiculous marriage! It's over, just like you. Now I'm free and easy. My motto is to get married every day and not get married every day. How about that? Unique, right?' As Chen Sisi spoke, she shook her fist at Fei Hu.
'Unique? Too unique!' Fei Hu muttered repeatedly. He truly couldn't understand whether the world had gone crazy or if he was just outdated. Why were women nowadays so trendy? Either they never marry and live freely, or they marry today and divorce tomorrow. He simply couldn't comprehend it. Fei Hu lowered his head to eat some fruit while pondering this issue.
Li Qin walked over and gently patted Fei Hu on the back, saying, 'What are you thinking about? You’re not seriously considering stepping in now that Sisi has broken up with her boyfriend, are you?'
'How could I? What do you take me for? No matter what, I wouldn't take advantage of someone else's misfortune!' Fei Hu shook his head dismissively.
Hearing Fei Hu's words, Li Qin felt a bit annoyed and punched him lightly on the back, scolding, 'You useless guy! Do you think acting like this makes you a gentleman? Nonsense! The real gentlemen died out last century. Don't pretend here. Luckily, Sisi only washed your clothes; if she had to wash you too, she'd be at a loss!'
Fei Hu was bewildered by Li Qin's reprimand and didn't understand where he had gone wrong.
'Alright, stop just criticizing me here. Who was it that last time Sisi came over, had eyes full of envy? And last night, you sent me to chase after Ye Xiaofei while you drove around tailing him until late at night. How can you even talk about this?' Chen Sisi said as she hurriedly turned to run upstairs, fearing Li Qin would hit her.
Fei Hu sighed and said, 'Last time we came over, Sisi's boyfriend seemed pretty good. Why did they break up just like that? Isn't this too much of a blow for Sisi?'
'A blow? Please! It was Sisi who wanted to break up. You're overthinking it. If two people don't get along, breaking up early is good for everyone. If being together is uncomfortable, why wait? Wait until there are kids? That would be even more troublesome,' Li Qin said casually, not knowing if she had come to terms with it or if she was simply detached from the situation.
After a while, Chen Sisi came downstairs holding Fei Hu's wallet and phone. She pushed these items in front of him and said, 'Here’s your stuff back. Check if any cash is missing. But honestly, you don’t have much money in your wallet!'
Fei Hu smiled and said, 'Thanks to both of you. It's getting late; I should head back now. If there's another chance in the future, I'll treat both of you to a drink. Just don’t know if you'll give me that opportunity.'
'What do you mean? I have three floors here; there are plenty of places to sleep! You can choose wherever you want! Why are you in such a hurry to leave? There isn't really another woman waiting for you, is there?' Li Qin said somewhat displeased when she heard Fei Hu wanted to leave.
Fei Hu opened his phone while smiling and said, 'It's precisely because it's too comfortable here that I want to leave quickly. If I really got used to living here, even if you wanted me to leave later on, it would be quite troublesome!'"
"Isn't that just perfect? Li Qin, you need a man here. Why not let him stay and take care of you? Wouldn't that be better?" Chen Sisi said as she ran ahead to grab her bag.
Li Qin pouted and said, "Oh! I see now. You two have made plans to leave together, right? Are you saying I'm inconvenient here? Don't worry about me! Just rent a room and ignore me. Is it really necessary to leave? How boring."
Seeing that Li Qin was upset, Chen Sisi walked over and patted her shoulder, saying, "Let him stay! I really have things to do. Didn't I tell you I have an interview tomorrow? I need to prepare my materials tonight. Once I get this job, I can come hang out with you again. I really need to nail this job; otherwise, everyone will laugh at me. Plus, doing nothing all day is so boring. Unlike you, even if you sleep all day, you have such a big family business at home."
Li Qin saw how sincere Chen Sisi was and decided not to insist any longer. She nodded and said, "Alright! Ambition is good; I wish you success. I'm also heading to the United States in a couple of days. My parents are complaining that I'm too lazy since I'm not working. Before I leave, let's get together one more time and make it lively. If not, I can treat everyone to a vacation; I'll cover all the expenses." This is what rich people say without a second thought.
At that moment, Fei Hu's phone rang. He quickly answered it and heard Bald Zhang shouting on the other end: "Hey! Boss! What exactly are you trying to do? You promised to come back early and not turn off your phone. Here you are, not returning to the factory and turning off your phone. Are you trying to drive us all crazy?"
"Haha! No worries, I'll be back soon. Let's discuss everything in detail when I get to the factory," Fei Hu replied before hanging up.
Li Qin smiled at Fei Hu and said, "We're all busy people; you should go! Let Sisi take you back since you're headed in the same direction. Remember what I said: what's in the past is in the past; there's nothing worth holding onto. You're a man; act like one. Look at your Sisi; she's already at the point of getting married. She can let go just like that, and she's doing just fine."
Fei Hu nodded, feeling that Li Qin's words made sense. People should learn to live lightly. He waved goodbye and looked into Li Qin's affectionate eyes, feeling an impulse to stay, but ultimately he didn't because he couldn't afford to at this moment.
Chen Sisi drove gently, chatting with Fei Hu as the atmosphere became much lighter. Fei Hu asked curiously, "Sisi, you two seemed like a good match; why did you break up so quickly? I really don't understand."
"Haha! What's there to understand? You think too much about it. You should take it lightly. When we were together, we felt like we lost our freedom, and we both realized we weren't suited for marriage yet—maybe we just haven't had enough fun yet—so we broke up. But looking at you and Ye Xiaofei like that makes me feel it's not worth it for you; it's really unnecessary," Chen Sisi said with a particularly relaxed demeanor.
However, Fei Hu couldn't feel relaxed at all; he just couldn't understand why others could live so freely while he was burdened with worries.
