Yingzi rushed over in a panic and snatched the telescope from Fei Hu's hands. The moment her eyes pressed against it, her face flushed from her neck to her cheeks.
It turned out that Fei Hu had adjusted the angle of the telescope, not pointing it at the school gate as originally intended, but at an apartment building. On the balcony directly in front of the telescope, a young couple was passionately kissing. The man's hand had lifted the woman's skirt, exposing her full and fair thigh. Perhaps due to the close distance, they could clearly see the woman's red panties, even the lace trim was visible.
Feeling embarrassed, Yingzi couldn't help but blush. She chased after Fei Hu and threw a series of punches at his sturdy body. Fei Hu held his head with both hands, chuckling foolishly without defending himself. After getting tired from hitting him, Yingzi finally stopped and lay down on the soft bed. She shook her head helplessly and said, "You really can't change your lecherous ways; you forget about everything else wherever you go. But let me tell you, our mission today is to protect Ye Xiaofei, not to sightsee."
"I know. I just wanted to make you laugh a little. Actually, I can't take all the blame; I just glanced casually and didn't expect to see such an exciting scene. If I had searched more carefully, who knows what else I might have seen that was even more thrilling," Fei Hu said playfully while fiddling with the telescope.
Yingzi suddenly sprang up from the bed and pretended to be angry as she said, "Turn it back! Don't look around randomly; be careful not to miss any important details. Otherwise, we'll be waiting here for nothing!"
Fei Hu nodded and adjusted the angle of the telescope again. He looked patiently but saw nothing at all. It was lunchtime, and with the bright sun overhead, most students were likely hiding in their dorms for a nap, making the school gate appear rather deserted. Besides the campus police under their umbrellas, there were only pushcarts on either side selling cold drinks.
Even so, Fei Hu and Yingzi were watching intently; they usually had their meals delivered to their rooms. It wasn't until after six in the evening that new developments finally appeared on screen: a familiar face emerged—Ye Wu's capable aide Abiao—who glanced around quickly before disappearing into the crowd.
Although this school had strict management, at night it was still somewhat ineffective. Firstly, these students were all adults; secondly, they were generally wealthy kids who would find ways to concoct excuses to wander outside for a bit. Meanwhile, experienced street vendors would use all their tricks to sell food and drinks along with some quirky items, trying their best to empty these students' pockets.
As night fell, more and more people gathered at the school gate, making it impossible to monitor the scene through the telescope. Fei Hu rubbed his slightly sore eyes and said, "This won't work; there are too many people. We need to go to the school gate. This is their best chance to slip away unnoticed."
Yingzi stood up without saying a word; she unzipped her backpack and shook it vigorously over the bed. Goodness! Hats, sunglasses, wigs—an entire pile spilled out.
"Pick a few things and disguise yourself! We absolutely cannot let them discover us," Yingzi said as she began dressing up herself.
In this urgent situation, Fei Hu didn't have time to think much; he quickly put on a wig and then donned a pair of big sunglasses... A few minutes later, when they looked at each other, they couldn't help but burst into laughter. With this disguise on, unless someone was very familiar with them and looked closely, no one would be able to recognize them.
At one side of the school gate, Yingzi and Fei Hu found a spot that was both hidden and allowed them to see the entrance clearly. Time passed slowly, and they no longer saw Abiao and the others appear. Strange! Could it be that they had played a prank on them?
As it approached nine o'clock, the number of people at the school gate dwindled. Suddenly, Ye Xiaofei walked out from the campus, looking around as she walked, clearly having her own doubts. After not seeing her for several days, under the lights, Ye Xiaofei appeared thinner than before, but her elegant demeanor, graceful figure, and stunning beauty still made Fei Hu's heart flutter as he remembered their wonderful days together.
"Stop just staring at Ye Xiaofei; you need to pay attention to her surroundings," Yingzi nudged Fei Hu with her elbow.
Fei Hu hurriedly pulled himself together and began to observe the situation around them carefully. As Ye Xiaofei stepped out of the gate and looked around, not seeing anyone she recognized, she was about to turn back when suddenly a white van sped towards the school gate. Just as the van approached Ye Xiaofei, its side door slid open unexpectedly. By the time Ye Xiaofei realized something was wrong, she was already pulled into the van.
Fei Hu and Yingzi witnessed everything clearly. By the time they rushed out, the van had already made a sharp turn and sped onto the main road.
Fei Hu sprinted after the van without hesitation. Even though he was fast, he couldn't compete with a vehicle. Fortunately, when Fei Hu could no longer run, Yingzi had hailed a rental car that caught up with him. As soon as Fei Hu jumped into the car, Yingzi shouted to the driver, "Chase that white van ahead; I'll give you two thousand."
The taxi driver was a young man who pressed down on the accelerator harder, causing the car to shake. Despite the van's efforts to escape, it couldn't outrun the rental car due to its superior performance; soon enough, they were within a hundred meters of each other.
"Maintain this speed and distance; don't get too close or let them shake you off," Fei Hu said coldly to the driver.
The young driver wiped his sweat nervously and said quietly, "Brother and sister, who are you chasing? I can't afford to offend anyone; please don't get me into trouble. I have an eighty-year-old mother at home waiting for me to take care of her."
"Stop talking nonsense and just drive; this has nothing to do with you," Yingzi said impatiently as she pulled out some cash from her pocket, counted it, and placed a stack next to the driver's seat. The young man glanced at it and couldn't help but show a pleased expression.
The van continued heading towards the eastern suburbs and soon turned onto a narrow country road. Due to the narrowness of the road and having to yield to oncoming vehicles at times, it couldn't go very fast. The rental car gradually closed in behind it.
Fei Hu and Yingzi whispered a few words in the car before telling the driver, "Overtake that van ahead and block it off if you can; if you damage your car in doing so, we'll compensate you fully."
The taxi driver hesitated for a moment but then pressed down on the accelerator again. The car jolted forward and quickly left the van behind. However, instead of following Fei Hu's instructions directly—perhaps concerned about his own vehicle—the young man slammed on his brakes abruptly in the middle of the road.
The road was not very wide to begin with, and with a car parked in the middle, it became difficult for vehicles behind to pass. A van came rushing up without slowing down, brushing against the rental car's body as it forced its way through. A thrilling scene unfolded before Fei Hu and the others; just as the van reached halfway past the rental car, it suddenly swerved and crashed into the farmland beside the road. Fortunately, the height difference between the road and the field was only about a meter.
With a loud crash, the van smoothly fell into the field, sliding forward for over ten meters before coming to a halt, puffing out black smoke. Fei Hu signaled to Yingzi, and the two jumped out of the car. Just as they landed, the rental car suddenly surged forward and disappeared from sight, leaving Fei Hu shaking her head helplessly.
The door of the van swung open, and five or six burly young men jumped out, each wielding a large machete that glinted ominously under the dim streetlights, looking somewhat terrifying.
Fei Hu and Yingzi boldly approached. Inside the van, they could hear Ye Xiaofei making muffled sounds, indicating that her mouth might have been gagged and she seemed to be tied up.
"Hahaha! You two friends seem a bit unfamiliar with our ways. Following us all this way—what's your purpose?" With that voice, Abiao jumped down from the vehicle, swinging his machete as if eager for action.
Fei Hu stepped forward, standing at the roadside with an imposing demeanor. He lowered his voice and said, "Stop wasting time. Hand over the people in your vehicle to us. Let's keep things civil; otherwise, it will be either you dead or me alive." Fei Hu deliberately made his words sound intimidating, hoping to instill some fear in these guys.
"That's not how it works, my friend. Why should we hand over anyone? There needs to be a reason! As for who lives or dies, I think it's not up to you or me; it's up to our knives. Whoever they choose will definitely not survive tonight," Abiao replied, shifting his machete into a different position as if ready to pounce at any moment. His words were even harsher than Fei Hu's; it seemed like there would be quite a show tonight.
This place was relatively remote and it was nighttime, so there wasn't a single passerby on the road. Occasionally passing cars sped up upon seeing this standoff instead of slowing down.
"Is having knives really that impressive? We've been watching your people for quite a while now. If you don't leave tonight, you'll all stay here," Yingzi suddenly stepped forward behind Fei Hu. Unbeknownst to them when she had pulled out a gun, which shocked even Fei Hu.
Seeing this, Abiao's face changed dramatically. He instinctively took a step back and said in a trembling voice, "Please don't act impulsively; be careful not to accidentally hurt our brothers. As for those in your vehicle? We can talk this out without needing to resort to knives or guns."
"Shut your mouth and hand them over; otherwise, I'll blow your brains out first," Yingzi said as she raised her gun with an extremely professional demeanor. Fei Hu had played CS with Ye Xiaofei before and realized that Yingzi had definitely trained before. Suddenly, a flash of light aimed directly at Yingzi's gun-wielding hand.
