This was like watching a battle movie, with scenes that had appeared in those films vividly unfolding before Fei Hu's eyes. He even felt a sense of disorientation, wondering if he was dreaming. Noticing something was off, Yingzi gently nudged him and whispered, "Get a grip, be careful not to be discovered."
"Ye Boss, did you bring the cash?" Little Man asked quietly. Although his voice was low, it was clear enough for Yingzi and Fei Hu, who were crouched on the Container, to hear.
Ye Wu snorted and said, "Of course." He waved his hand behind him, and Abiao brought over a large safe, placing it in front of Little Man.
Another man behind Little Man stepped forward and quickly opened the safe. The light was too dim for Fei Hu to see what was inside. Yingzi held up her binoculars for Fei Hu to see. Goodness, it was a large box full of cash. If the entire box was filled with money, it must be at least a hundred thousand. What were they planning to trade? Fei Hu felt puzzled.
At that moment, Little Man gestured behind him, and another man immediately turned around to open a nearby Container. These people were incredibly skilled; opening this Container was as easy as opening their own front door. The man climbed into the Container for a moment and then dragged out two large boxes. He placed them in front of Ye Wu and then stepped back.
Ye Wu signaled to Abiao, who hurried over. He skillfully opened one of the boxes and pulled out a bag of white substance. Fei Hu nervously adjusted the focus of his binoculars as his heart began to race. He watched as Abiao made a small cut in the white bag with a knife, then took a sniff from the tip of the knife before licking it. Fei Hu had seen this kind of scene many times on TV and in movies—oh no, this was drugs.
Ye Wu really was like an old man hanging himself; he seemed to have a death wish. In his agitation, Fei Hu's hand trembled, causing him to lose grip on the binoculars, which slipped from his hands with a crash. Time seemed to freeze at that moment.
"Who?" With a loud shout, both sides raised their weapons simultaneously. Fei Hu felt a rush of wind above his head as Yingzi pushed his head down.
Suddenly, shadows surged from all directions, and the leader shouted loudly, "Put your hands up! You are surrounded!"
However, the men below were blinded by rage and paid no attention to who was speaking. They unleashed flames from their weapons towards the newcomers. In that chaos, Fei Hu and Yingzi were ignored. Slowly lifting his head, Fei Hu saw Little Man retreating while firing one-handedly with the other hand dragging the safe.
Inside the Cargo Warehouse, gunfire erupted suddenly, creating an atmosphere of terror.
"The police have arrived! We need to go down and help them; if this continues, these guys might escape," Yingzi said as she turned to Fei Hu.
Fei Hu thought to himself that this was the police's business; why should they get involved? Just as he pondered this, Yingzi had already climbed up from beside him. With a roll, she grabbed the edge of the Container and climbed down.
He couldn't fall behind her in such high-mindedness. Thinking this way, Fei Hu mimicked Yingzi's movements and climbed down from the top of the Container. It was much easier going down than going up; once he reached the second level below, he let go and landed on his feet with a thud.
That bastard Ye Wu had forced his men to block the police while he and Little Man continued shooting while retreating. By the time Fei Hu caught up with Yingzi, he saw her stealthily approaching Little Man.
Suddenly, Little Man seemed to have eyes in the back of his head; he whipped around and fired without hesitation. There were two gunshots—Yingzi fell instantly. Fei Hu lunged forward and collapsed beside her; his heart shattered along with hers—two shots meant one life ended just like that.
"No, no, I want to take revenge for you," as Fei Hu raised his head, two gunshots rang out again, bullets striking the concrete floor, sending dust flying and sparks scattering. Suddenly, Fei Hu felt Yingzi's delicate hand pressing against his neck. Could it be that she was not dead? A wave of joy surged in Fei Hu's heart.
At that moment, a voice shouted from the front: "You are surrounded. Resistance is futile."
"Sister, you all hurry and leave. I'll cover you. You don't need to take the money; just climb over the back wall and don't go on the Main Road," a woman's crisp voice came through.
Strangely, there were clearly three men; how could there be a woman's voice? Just as Fei Hu was about to look up, Yingzi whispered, "Crawl and don't move."
Another round of fierce gunfire erupted, followed by a deathly silence that felt somewhat terrifying. When Fei Hu lifted his head, the three Little Men had vanished without a trace. An open safe lay on the ground, stacks of brand new bills scattered everywhere, but at that moment, it evoked no greed in him.
"What are you looking at?" Yingzi sighed and flipped over.
Fei Hu hurriedly supported her and asked anxiously, "Are you okay? You're not hurt?"
"Hurt? What do you think we wore this for? You're such a fool," Yingzi said as she glanced around and then stood up.
Suddenly, at that moment, more than ten fully armed police officers surged out from both sides of the Container. They held their guns and shouted loudly, "Don't move! Raise your hands!"
"Quickly raise your hands and crawl on top of the Container," Yingzi urgently told Fei Hu. She was afraid that this man would act recklessly; otherwise, it would ruin the Major Incident. In such situations, everyone was on edge and most likely to open fire.
Without giving them a chance to speak, Fei Hu and Yingzi were pushed into a police car. After several turns, when they arrived at the back, Fei Hu and Yingzi were separated and locked up again. Since he hadn't done anything wrong, there was nothing to fear. As soon as he entered, Fei Hu fell asleep; he was simply too exhausted.
With a clang, the heavy iron door was swung open. Fei Hu rubbed his eyes and saw Ni Ling smiling at him. When she noticed he was awake, Ni Ling asked, "Did you sleep well? It looks like you slept until dawn; what a good mindset."
Fei Hu then noticed that Ni Ling had a bandage wrapped around one arm hanging across her chest. He initially wanted to complain but seeing Ni Ling like this made him swallow his words. He sighed and said, "What happened to you? You weren't hurt last night, were you?"
"Yes. Several of us were injured. It's all because we underestimated Ye Wu; we didn't expect he still had weapons on him, and these weapons are quite advanced internationally—better than our equipment," Ni Ling said with a helpless shake of her head.
Fei Hu hurriedly stood up and asked anxiously, "Did they catch them all?"
"That bastard Ye Wu was stubborn and was shot dead on the spot. Among the three with my aunt, one was killed by our Special Police while she managed to escape with another woman. We have issued an international wanted notice; whether she can escape depends on her luck," Ni Ling said through gritted teeth as she spoke with anger.
Fei Hu brushed off the dust from his clothes and smiled, saying, "This is your business, but it's a bit unreasonable to bring us helpers back as well. I'm leaving now; I'm both hungry and tired." With that, Fei Hu turned and walked toward the door.
"Don't be in a hurry. I've already reserved a table to calm you and Yingzi down. Although this matter wasn't handled perfectly, you did help us," Ni Ling said, reaching out to pull Fei Hu back, seemingly afraid he would run away.
Inside the private room, the three of them ate in silence. Fei Hu found it strange; Ni Ling had said it was to calm them down, but she showed no signs of happiness, her face clouded with worry.
After eating for a while, Fei Hu couldn't hold back any longer. He laughed and asked, "What's wrong with you all? You’re all acting like mute people. Is the food not good, or are you scared by what happened last night? Look at me; it feels like a dream, and I've already moved on."
Yingzi shot Fei Hu a glare and quietly asked, "What happened? Did you get scolded?"
Ni Ling nodded and said, "The director is very angry. This case has been under investigation for three years. Just when we were about to wrap things up yesterday, we didn't expect so many people to get hurt and the most important international drug lord to escape. This is all my oversight; I'm extremely upset. Since you knew Ye Wu had such intentions, why didn't you communicate with me beforehand?" Ni Ling finally expressed her displeasure.
Fei Hu put down his chopsticks on the table and glanced at Yingzi, who was looking down. "Officer Ni, that's not fair. We're not police officers. If we had lost our lives last night, how would you have defined our situation? Besides, Ye Wu is part of the Dragon Tiger Gang; I can't just ignore what he does. As for the drug deal, we only found out about it last night."
"Yes, Fei Hu is absolutely right. We noticed something unusual about this person recently, which is why we started monitoring him yesterday. Maybe it was just a coincidence that we uncovered such a big case. That bastard deserves his fate; it's just unfortunate for his subordinates," Yingzi said with some regret.
Upon hearing this, Fei Hu immediately asked, "Ye Wu was killed? What about his two subordinates, Abiao and Little Four?"
Ni Ling sighed and replied, "Abiao was originally a drug dealer; this time he returned to his old profession. Last night he knew he couldn't escape death and committed suicide by shooting himself. Little Four is a crafty thief; he surrendered last night and revealed everything he knew. Do you know how much drugs were involved? Two whole boxes—at least over thirty kilograms—could harm so many people if they got out."
Just as Yingzi was about to respond with something crucial, her phone rang. Upon hearing it, she immediately stood up and said, "Not good! Ye Xiaofei is missing!"
