Guan Yue looked through his perspective eye repeatedly, and beyond that vast ocean was actually a mass of gas. Could it be another instance of Death Qi? This time, Guan Yue did not let Lan Xuelei take action; instead, he used the Azure Dragon Sun Sword to start digging at the edge of the ocean.
The Azure Dragon Sun Sword was indeed a Celestial Soldier, and under Guan Yue's command, digging a hole was quite easy. The stones were like tofu beneath this sword. Guan Yue pushed Lan Xuelei aside and dug in alone. Suddenly, a very coarse voice came from within: "Are you looking for death, kid? Get lost. If we didn't want to make too much noise right now, we could eliminate you immediately."
This voice reminded Guan Yue of the sound he heard from wild dogs in the sky. It was him, Helian the Old Thief!
"Hey, how did this little guy find this place? Wood Old Ghost, is this little guy a descendant of your Mu Family? You set up a restriction but left a backdoor?" This was the voice of a woman named Hua'er.
"Hua'er, you're wronging me, Wood. But this kid's abilities are indeed impressive; no one else in the entire Yongning Continent could have found this place. Let me ask, where did this kid come from?" A pleasant voice followed. It was Wood Old Ghost.
Wood Old Ghost spoke again, his voice not only pleasant but also magnetic, inadvertently putting the other party into a trance: "Kid, who are you? What means did you use to find your way here?"
Guan Yue secretly smiled and gestured for Lan Xuelei to remain silent. He then slowly said, "I am a disciple of the Southern Source Poor Scholar; my name is Guan Yue. I followed a special scent all the way here."
Upon hearing this, Helian the Old Thief complained to Wood Old Ghost: "It's your fault for leaving some scent that others could track here."
Wood Old Ghost immediately growled in a low voice: "Why don't you consider it might be Hua'er's scent? Or even your own scent?"
Hua'er also softly shouted: "I have no other smell besides fragrance—uh, fragrance?"
Wood Old Ghost spoke to Guan Yue again, his voice still enticing: "Are you really a disciple of the Southern Source Poor Scholar? That can't be true; he left Yongning Continent long ago. It's impossible for you to be such a young disciple."
"I'm not that young anymore. My master told me that your Mu Family has many experts and advised me not to provoke you. If your Mu Family were to unleash its full power, killing one or two Great Dao Realm Disciples would still be possible. So, Senior Wood, I beg you to spare me."
Guan Yue suppressed a laugh and spoke slowly, giving the impression that he was under some sort of spell. Guan Yue had intentionally mentioned the background of the Mu Family after encountering the old man earlier, knowing it would surely raise suspicion in Hua'er and Helian.
Sure enough, as soon as Guan Yue said this, Hua'er immediately turned to Wood Old Ghost and said, "Well, it seems that even a poor scholar understands you. So your Mu Family has such a background that you can strike against both of us at the same time. No wonder you are so calm; it seems you have already considered us dead. You only want to use us to help you find something, right?"
Helian the Old Thief roughly added, "After tens of thousands of years, you still resort to such tricks. Wood Old Ghost, our cooperation ends here. No one should expect to gain anything. Let's part ways."
Wood Old Ghost gently advised, "It's not that serious. Although our Mu Family has some background, apart from me, none of them are your match. We only have two Little Ancestor Saints. But it's strange; how did Southern Source Poor Scholar find out? Our Mu Family has never paid attention to worldly matters, and this information has never been disclosed."
Helian the Old Thief scolded, "Fool! Even a poor scholar has disciples in Yongning Continent. And how could your Mu Family disciples not use your name to intimidate others? Incompetent juniors love to wave their flags for show."
Ignoring the two old men, Wood Old Ghost asked Guan Yue with a puzzled voice, "Young one, we are contemporaries with Southern Source Poor Scholar. Tell us, what brings you here? It can't be that the scent lured you in?"
Guan Yue replied, "So it turns out you are the esteemed Expert. I pay my respects. You see, there is a divine beast outside; a wild dog has become a deity, and we were forced in here by it. I thought that since there were people here, they would help us deal with the wild dog, so we came in without realizing we would disturb your peaceful cultivation."
"Haha, so these two kids were driven in by a wild dog. No wonder; how many corpses has that mad dog devoured? Among them are not few Senior Cultivators, which must have greatly increased its power," Helian the Old Thief chuckled in understanding.
Hua'er shouted angrily, "Helian the Old Thief, you slaughter innocents and harm common folk without remorse. One day you will face retribution for your actions."
Helian the Old Thief laughed heartily again and said, "I consider myself superior and refuse to suffer in the Upper Space. For tens of thousands of years, I have killed countless people but have never seen any retribution. Yet you two keep restricting me at every turn, which annoys me."
Wood Old Ghost snorted coldly and then said to Guan Yue, "In that case, you two can come in."
Immediately, Guan Yue saw a small door appear before him. Inside the small door, the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy had solidified and reached an extreme density. As soon as the small door formed, that dense Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy began to leak out in large amounts.
Guan Yue and Lan Xuelei felt a force pulling them forward, and soon they found themselves standing in front of the three elders, while the small door had naturally disappeared.
The concentration of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy here was overwhelming, and Guan Yue felt as if he could not breathe. A tremendous power began to form within him naturally, and Guan Yue was pleasantly surprised to find that a solid form of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy had actually developed inside him, growing larger by the moment. As it increased in size, the density of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy in the room naturally became thinner.
Helian the Old Thief thought that perhaps too much energy had leaked out earlier, so he exerted himself again and absorbed the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy from the mountains and valleys. Guan Yue felt as if he had just feasted. The solid form of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy within him grew even larger.
Guan Yue looked up and saw that the Three Elders appeared to be young people.
Hua Er was indeed a stunning beauty; although she was not as perfect as Ruyi Girl, she was still an extraordinary beauty, rare in the world. She looked to be around seventeen or eighteen years old, beautiful and enchanting, with a voluptuous figure accentuated by her form-fitting attire. Her bright, large eyes resembled the moon in the sky or the vast ocean, making men eager to rush in without hesitation. Even Guan Yue, who had previously cultivated in front of Ruyi Girl, dared not gaze too long into Hua Er's eyes.
The Wood Old Ghost appeared elegant and charismatic, exuding an air of calmness as if he were unperturbed by any waves of emotion, embodying a sense of authority.
Helian the Old Thief looked to be in his thirties, with a robust build and a courageous demeanor that suggested he could face any challenge head-on.
All three of them had a layer of hazy aura floating around them, which made it difficult to perceive their true cultivation levels unless one paid close attention. This layer was transparent and could easily go unnoticed.
This aura immediately reminded Guan Yue of a similar presence surrounding Phoenix. What exactly was this layer? Why did it give Guan Yue such a mysterious feeling?
"Wow, despite being poor, he managed to get his disciple a pair of Celestial Soldiers. Not bad at all," Hua Er remarked with a hint of envy.
Helian added, "Pretending to be poor? Giving his disciple a pair of Celestial Soldiers shows great ambition. I don't even have Celestial Soldiers for my descendants."
The Wood Old Ghost laughed heartily and said, "I also don't have Celestial Soldiers for my descendants; however, my descendant managed to acquire an Origin Tool at an auction simply by exchanging it for Vermilion Jade. Truly a stroke of luck for my Mu Family."
"Wood Old Ghost, are you really going to use the Origin Tool against us?" Flower exclaimed in shock.
"Will I? If I could, I wouldn't be telling you this. However, that Origin Tool has already been claimed by someone else through blood," Wood Old Ghost replied.
"Old Ghost, don't lie to me. You must have a way to break the blood claim, right?" Helian the Old Thief sneered.
Wood Old Ghost sighed, "I can't break it because that Origin Tool came from a stone and has completely lost its Spiritual Energy. This is its weakest moment, so once blood was used to claim it at that time, it cannot be undone. I heard it was discovered by a young boy during a Gambling on Stones event; he certainly didn't know he had claimed an Origin Tool. That's why we haven't troubled that boy."
Flower laughed, "Nonsense! You're afraid of killing that boy and having the Origin Tool backfire on your Mu Family, aren't you? Others may not know, but I do—the backlash from an Origin Tool is incredibly fierce. Even the great elders of Upper Space have to exert all their effort to handle it. Your Mu Family probably doesn't have that capability."
Wood Old Ghost smiled wryly, "Even so. Since that boy doesn't know, we in the Mu Family certainly won't make a fuss about it. It's just that without our claim, the power of this sword can only be exerted at half strength."
After hearing this, Helian the Old Thief couldn't help but say, "Your Mu Family hides things very well. You remain silent; are you planning to deal with the Celestial Soldiers?" At this moment, his tone softened considerably; he was impressed by the depth of the Mu Family.
"Since we chose this path, we must be prepared to oppose the Heavenly Court. Are you planning to sit back and wait for death, Brother Helian?" Wood Old Ghost chuckled. "We three came here precisely to deal with the Heavenly Court. We're in the same boat."
Guan Yue then felt a sense of turning tides: so the Origin Tool ultimately ended up with the Mu Family. In that case, I won't hold back; I'm going to take it back! You offended Mo Senior, so now I must offend you.
If I get my hands on the Origin Tool, it will be a different story!
"Kid, your master is an honest man who went to Upper Space early on but has had a terrible time there. None of us from Yongning Continent have made anything of ourselves up there. I thought this was part of the Heavenly Court's scheme. So from now on, you don't need to go; the Heavenly Court doesn't need us for paradise. Only here in Yongning Continent is our true homeland," Flower said earnestly to Guan Yue and Lan Xuelei.
