Arriving at the Dragon Python Celestial Domain for a month now, I have fully adapted to the environment and acquired the cultivation method for breaking through to the Heavenly Realm. However, should I focus on cultivating to that level on my own, or should I first align myself with a faction to build my own power?
Guan Yue originally planned to head to the Waydao Empire immediately, but after observing for some time, he changed his mind. He decided it would be better to reach the Heavenly Realm before making the journey; otherwise, the trip would be perilous and unrealistic if he had to rely solely on foot travel.
That evening, he stepped out of the inn and strolled through the city, casually taking in the sights.
Suddenly, a commotion erupted ahead, with a crowd gathering in excitement. Guan Yue felt curious and moved toward the center of the noise.
To his shock, he saw Direction East and Fang West, along with four other disciples, tightly bound and being paraded through the streets by soldiers!
Guan Yue noticed a notice nearby stating that they were accused of being a group of rogues reported by the authorities. They had stolen a large sum of money and were fighting among themselves over the spoils when they were captured by the soldiers.
Guan Yue quickly pieced together what had happened: Direction East and Fang West must have encountered a bandit attack. During their struggle, they were discovered by the soldiers, and since they had just retrieved thirty thousand taels of Golden Red Sand, it was difficult for them to explain their situation.
Having already considered these two siblings as friends, Guan Yue immediately decided to rescue them.
He withdrew from the crowd and found a secluded spot. Using the Concealment Technique, he descended directly onto the cart escorting Direction East and whispered to him, "Brother, I am Guan Yue. I am here to rescue you."
Direction East was taken aback; he couldn't see anyone. However, he couldn't show his surprise and could only ask quietly, "Who are you? I'm wrongfully accused here."
"Wrongfully accused? Who isn't? You forgot about me right after leaving; that's not very friendly," Guan Yue replied with frustration.
"Ah, you are Guan Young Master?" Direction East finally realized who it was.
"Did you think you had so many friends that someone would come to save you?" Guan Yue lightly tapped Direction East's head. "I checked; these soldiers are not very strong. Once I free you, you need to escape southward. I'll rescue your sister afterward. If this doesn't work out, we'll meet at the Wang family."
At this point, Guan Yue had already communicated telepathically with Direction East and Fang West. They both nodded in understanding because they knew that once they were imprisoned in a dungeon, it would be much harder to rescue them.
Guan Yue handed each of them a pill to help them recover their strength.
As Guan Yue's procession reached the edge of a forest, he immediately swung the Heavenly Soldier Azure Dragon Yin Yang Sword, cleaving the shackles binding Direction East. Although Direction East was covered in blood, he had regained some strength and swiftly took to the skies, recklessly flying south.
The escorting soldiers were taken aback and several of them quickly pursued him.
It seemed that those who followed were all strong fighters, which reassured Guan Yue. After waiting for a moment, he casually severed the shackles binding Fang West and pulled her along as they soared away.
This caused chaos within the entire procession. A large group of people began to follow Guan Yue. It was then that they realized someone had come to rescue these two, and the Invisibility Technique was an incredibly precious spell in Yongning Continent. With Fang West as their target, everyone wanted to follow and capture the heir of this technique.
Since many shared this thought, they surged forward, all pursuing them.
Guan Yue, holding Fang West, also flew south but remained cautious not to catch up with Direction East. Doing so would only increase his pressure.
Thus, Guan Yue rapidly headed towards a towering mountain, as its height was such that many could not fly that high.
Upon reaching the summit, Guan Yue brought the still-breathless Fang West to a rocky outcrop and prepared for battle while looking down. He had dispelled his invisibility and entered combat mode.
As expected, only four individuals could reach the mountaintop. Without hesitation, Guan Yue launched an attack against them, wielding his Celestial Soldier. Taking advantage of their unsteady footing and labored breathing, he swiftly killed three of them.
However, the last one was exceptionally tenacious and skilled, matching Guan Yue's abilities. The two were locked in a fierce struggle.
This person exuded arrogance and said to Guan Yue, "You little thief! How dare you intercept government soldiers and rescue enemies of the state? Killing officials today will seal your fate. I, Xiao Wudi, will take your life."
As Guan Yue focused his energy to counter him, he felt that this opponent was indeed a worthy adversary. At that moment, he needed such a challenger to hone his skills; thus, he refrained from using any other techniques and fought purely with his true cultivation level.
The two grew increasingly exhilarated in battle. Xiao Wudi sensed that Guan Yue was the perfect opponent for him as well and exerted himself fully without rushing to end the fight.
Guan Yue was unaware that Xiao Wudi aimed to use him as a stepping stone to break through to the Sky Breaking Realm. Meanwhile, during their duel, Guan Yue distinctly felt that both Small Yuan Ying in his Blood Sea were joyfully growing stronger.
Despite this, both fought with all their might; only by pushing themselves to their limits could they gain greater insights from this battle and achieve more significant personal growth.
Before long, the two had cleared a large area of flat ground, and everything in the vicinity was completely destroyed by their Vital Energy Fluctuation and impact. This demonstrated that both of their Combat Powers were quite formidable. Guan Yue's opponent was certainly someone who had cultivated to the Great Path Realm.
Suddenly, Guan Yue heard some chaotic noises coming from down the mountain. He used his opponent's palm force to leap to the edge of the mountain and saw that a number of Disciples were surging up the mountain path.
This discovery made Guan Yue furious; it turned out that his opponent had intended to ambush him, but unfortunately, the allies he relied on were too weak.
Seeing his scheme exposed, Xiao Wudi immediately jumped aside. He no longer wanted to confront Guan Yue head-on and instead chose to wait until the crowd from below climbed up, hoping to exhaust Guan Yue in the process. Then he would capture him as a prisoner of war, and his Invisibility Technique would become his own.
Xiao Wudi was quite cunning.
On one hand, he treated Guan Yue as a training target, continuously using him for practice. On the other hand, he summoned weaker Disciples to swarm Guan Yue, attempting to wear him down. Additionally, he kept a close watch on Guan Yue to prevent him from taking Fang West away. He was convinced that as long as he kept a close eye on Fang West, he could ultimately defeat Guan Yue.
He feared that Guan Yue might become invisible again!
Guan Yue immediately drew out his Artifact Gold Sword and activated the Yuli Huanfu Technique, charging directly at Xiao Wudi.
After Guan Yue executed these two moves, Xiao Wudi found himself unable to counterattack. All of his assaults were repelled back at him, while the pressure from the Golden Sword Initiator was something he could not withstand. Guan Yue relentlessly advanced toward him with brutal force.
In no time at all, Xiao Wudi had one of his arms severed by Guan Yue.
Seeing the danger he was in, Xiao Wudi realized that the weapons used by Guan Yue were all exceptional tools; however, he did not know they were Celestial Soldiers and Origin Tools. If it weren't for the power of the Celestial Soldier, it would have been difficult for Guan Yue to hold out against him for so long. But now he was in trouble; seeing Guan Yue charging at him with a murderous gaze made Xiao Wudi aware that his life was in grave danger.
This battle could not continue; he had suffered too much defeat. As he watched Guan Yue closing in on him and felt the blood dripping from his shoulder, he closed his eyes and made a resolute decision to jump off the edge of the mountain!
Guan Yue glared fiercely at Xiao Wudi's falling shadow and spat on the ground. Then he quietly waited for others to arrive.
However, after waiting for a while, no one came up. When Guan Yue looked down the mountain, he saw them carrying Xiao Wudi away into the distance.
Guan Yue thought to himself: It seems that this Xiao Wudi is an important figure in the government.
Guan Yue then pulled out West, and she saw that the pill she had taken had already taken effect. Looking at Guan Yue with gratitude, Guan Yue smiled and said, “West sister, if you thank me, it means you consider me an outsider, and that would naturally make me sad. So, how about it? Can you fly with me? Let's go find your brother; otherwise, I won't feel at ease.”
West twisted her body a bit and then stood up confidently, saying, “My brother may not be good at many things, but his escape skills are top-notch. He has escaped countless times, so don’t worry. He won’t die.”
“Is this what my sister would say? How ridiculous! People say that girls become more outgoing as they grow up, and today I finally see that it’s true. With a romantic interest, she doesn’t even care about her own brother anymore.”
Direction East suddenly interjected, surprising Guan Yue. However, West was not surprised; instead, she rushed to hit him because her brother's words were embarrassing for her!
Direction East quickly asked, “I’ve been on the mountain across from you all along. I clearly saw your battle with that Disciple. But how did he suddenly lose afterward? Guan Young Master, I don’t understand.”
Guan Yue punched Direction East in the chest and said, “Why are you asking me instead of him? Aren’t you just asking for a beating?”
Seeing that Guan Yue was unwilling to say more, Direction East stopped asking.
The three gathered together, and Direction East explained the siblings' situation to Guan Yue, who laughed heartily and said, “Brother Fang, it seems your sister was right; you really are an expert at escaping. I was just worried about you earlier; your sister knows you well.”
“How can one not be skilled at escaping? In our Dragon Python Celestial Domain, running away when you can’t win is the most important principle. By the way, brother, your Invisibility Technique seems quite impressive,” Direction East expressed his admiration for Guan Yue’s Invisibility Technique.
Guan Yue smiled and said, “If you want to learn it, I can teach you.”
Direction East was astonished and found it hard to believe.
