I returned to my resting area and closed my eyes to focus on cultivating Soul Energy. I had no idea how long this session lasted; after all, I didn't need to sleep or eat, and time seemed to pass in a blur. Regardless of how long it took, I felt it was time to settle down and cultivate properly. My Soul Energy had significantly increased during these three battles, accumulating within me. It seemed that it wouldn't be long before I could break through again. This Dream City was truly terrifying; just the mental trials could yield so much Soul Energy. No wonder Silver Moon said not everyone could come here. 0

The orange sphere of light within me spun rapidly, drawing in Pure Sound as the Soul Energy was absorbed. After continuous transformations, the color of the orange sphere deepened, indicating that I was nearing the final moment. I needed to continue enhancing my Soul Energy; I was almost there. Later, I went to the second level to train. I was nearly defeated in the first challenge and was instantly killed in the second; it was indeed tough. 0

At that moment, my vision darkened. It seemed there was a long path ahead of me, and I subconsciously followed its trajectory. Gradually, a sound emerged, becoming clearer as I moved forward—it was the sound of dripping water. Soon after, I caught a whiff of something; it was the smell of blood. Why was there a scent of blood? My mind seemed unable to process this; all I could do was move forward. 0

"Don't go, stop! Xi Meng, wake up!" A voice inside me kept reminding me. But I couldn't control my body; it felt like a magnet drawn to iron. 0

"Woo woo woo..." It was the sound of crying, mixed with the dripping water echoing in my ears. I could feel my body trembling to its limits, yet I couldn't stop. Who would come to save me? 0

"Help me! Help me! Please, save me!" Wasn't this what I should be saying? Could there be something here that needed my help? Another wave of crying came. 0

It felt like I had reached an end; my body stopped moving. In front of me stood a person? No way—how could there be someone here? I couldn't tell if he was a ghost or a demon. He was chained to a massive pillar, dressed in red, with black hair half-up and half-down behind him. He lifted his head, startling me; his exquisitely beautiful face bore several bloody marks that flowed from his eyes and dripped onto the ground below, where a small trough filled with blood lay. 0

My body seemed able to move again; I collapsed weakly onto the ground. Where was this? How did I get here? 0

"Help me! Help me! Help me!" He looked at me with exceptionally enchanting green eyes. I couldn't say anything; it was too bizarre. Was this a dream? Yes, it had to be a dream—wake up! Wake up! I gasped for breath. 0

"Help me! Help me..." He continued to look at me, urging me to save him. 0

"Come here! If you come here, you can save me! Please!" he pleaded with me. 0

"Don't go over there, Xi Meng, don't go over there." Even though I thought this, I still felt compelled to walk towards him. 0

He smiled, a pure smile that left me somewhat confused. What exactly was he? How could there be a trace of purity amidst the demonic aura? I stood in front of him, only a fist's distance apart, and looking at his smile, I found myself unable to guard against him. Suddenly, he lowered his head and bit down on my shoulder. I widened my eyes in shock; the pain was intense, and everything felt real. 0

At that moment, a burst of white light surged towards me, pushing me away. I sat on the ground, dazed, staring at him as he continued to smile. 0

"Abomination, don't think you can escape," an elderly voice came from somewhere. 0

"Hahaha, it's too late! You can't hold me back now, hahaha..." With the last mad laugh, I suddenly stood up. 0

Everything changed again; I found myself back in the lounge. Had I just fallen asleep? Yes, that must be it—just a very strange dream. 0

At that time, I didn't think much of it. If I had thought carefully, I would have realized that one cannot fall asleep in the Demon Realm. Moreover, the mark on my shoulder felt slightly cold. But I didn't dwell on it and continued to practice. 0

No one knew that in the highest palace of Dream City, Elder Qian, who had been sitting at his desk reviewing reports from the past few days, suddenly froze and then vanished in an instant, leaving only a chill behind. 0

I don't know how long it had been when there was a knock at my door. When I opened it, it was Silver Moon Senior. He looked at me with a calm expression and said, "Come on, I'm taking you to the Dueling Arena. This time there's going to be a good show; the wild ghosts are going to suffer." With that, he turned and walked away. 0

I had grown accustomed to Silver Moon Senior's personality and followed him. He seemed to know the way well; not knowing where I was going, I could only follow him. Suddenly, I felt a chill run through me and found myself rooted to the spot. My feet felt like they were planted in place. Silver Moon must have noticed my unusual behavior as he stopped and turned around to ask me, "What's wrong, Xi Meng?" 0

I didn't know what was happening; I just stared blankly at an ancient tower not far away. It looked very out of place in Dream City—plain without any grandeur, just an old bronze color. There was also a circle of iron railings surrounding it. 0

"That is the forbidden area. Are you curious about it?" Silver Moon explained as he saw me staring motionless at it. 0

"No, it just feels very strange," I shook my head, not understanding it myself. 0

"Don't be curious about anything here; be careful not to lose your soul. Don't look anymore; the forbidden place is inaccessible to anyone. Let's go," he said, turning to leave. 0

I took one last glance and followed him out. 0
