A dragon's roar echoed above Black Horn Hall, we have returned! 0

Finally seeing familiar figures, I sighed while sitting on the dragon's back, caught between life and death. It seemed that this time our actions were too reckless; indeed, the place that even several dragon elders feared was extremely dangerous. We were fortunate to have survived this time. 0

"We've arrived, Miss Xi Dream," Jade Elder supported me. The only ones who returned alive with me were Thunder and two dragons; the losses were significant. Elder Bai and Elder Xiang rushed to take them for treatment as soon as they got back. 0

"We're back." The deep voice of the Wild Ghost resonated, revealing a hint of excitement. 0

At last, I saw the faces of my companions and took a deep breath. Just as I was enjoying this moment of peace, I was embraced tightly. 0

"It’s been so many years; I’ve never been this scared before. I even hated myself for being aware that you were in danger but having no ability to save you." It was Silver Moon; I felt his trembling and the coldness in his voice, so different from his usual elegance, pierced my heart with each word. 0

"Senior, you—" 0

"Do you know? I regret it. I regret letting you join us. You could have simply trained at the academy and returned when your strength was sufficient, back to your world." 0

"You must promise me that in the future, no matter what situation arises, you will retreat behind me. Let me protect you in this world that does not belong to you until you leave. This is my promise to you." 0

I did not respond; I didn’t know what to say. Could it be that Senior really liked me? How long had we known each other?… But what about myself? How long had I been with Prisoner? 0

"You don’t need to feel troubled; I just hope to guard you until you leave." Silver Moon Senior returned to his elegant self. He smiled and released me; he looked so radiant when smiling, yet why did I feel a pang of pain for him? It seemed destined that there would be no outcome between us. At that moment, I avoided a similar question: could there be an outcome between me and Prisoner? All I could think about was returning to the human realm, back to Prisoner's side. 0

"Elder, is Xi Meng injured?" It seemed everyone had forgotten about the figure who had been waiting outside until Wild Ghost asked in a low voice. 0

"This... Miss Xi Dream has been poisoned by the Twin-Tailed Red Chain Scorpion." 0

"What! Aunt Yu, are you serious? Xi Meng really got poisoned by that guy?" Niti suddenly became very anxious. He and several elders understood how potent that scorpion's venom was; the survival rate was basically zero. 0

"Is this poison really that powerful?" Ye Gui asked seriously. 0

"There's no chance of survival." 0

Everyone fell into silence for a moment. 0

"It's okay," I said softly. 0

"Just now, I said I would protect you, and now I feel so useless," Yin Yue said with a pained expression. 0

"Senior, have you forgotten about the prize from that competition? This ring that Third Elder gave me is supposed to be able to ward off poison, right? I only feel a bit dizzy, but nothing else." I wasn't entirely sure if it could really ward off poison, but since I hadn't felt anything significant for this long, it seemed that Third Elder truly gave me a treasure. 0

"Really?" 0

"Really. Otherwise, let the elder take a look." 0

"Aunt Yu, please go check on Xi Meng," Niti said. 0

Jade Elder looked skeptical. After some time had passed, she sighed. "There really is no problem, Young Master." 0

"Then why are you sighing, Aunt Yu?" 0

"I was just thinking about my son. If I had such a treasure back then, perhaps he wouldn't have died from such a deadly poison," Jade Elder said, her brow slightly furrowed as if recalling her lost child. 0

"Alright, Aunt Yu, you must be tired today. Go rest," Nitian sighed. 0

"Then I will take my leave, Young Master." As I watched the back of Jade Elder, I suddenly thought of my parents in the human realm. If the Elders hadn't arrived in time today, I would never see my parents again, and everything about me would disappear. It seems that from now on, I must be more cautious, even for their sake. 0

"When I was young, I had a great relationship with Aunt Yu's son; he was like an older brother to me. Under the expectations of all the elders, I always bore a lot of responsibility, but he treated me like a child and played with me. However, the war took my only companion away, so I hate this place. One day, I will lead my kin out of here." Nitian was unconsciously influenced by Jade Elder's emotions and reminisced about the past. 0

"Didn't the elder just say that his son was poisoned? Why is Nitian talking about war?" 0

"This is why I hate coming back. You see, our Demon Dragon Clan is confined here. Over time, many clans have started to despair, leading to conflicts and infighting. It's truly pitiful; they have forgotten the teachings of our ancestors to unite and fight for the dignity of the Demon Dragon Clan!" 0

"Nitian, can you first introduce us to the general situation here? Our current circumstances definitely cannot follow the previous plan. It would be better to stay for a while and then make further plans." This was the only solution I could think of; continuing as before would only lead to dead ends. 0

"Sure. The Demon Dragons in Dark Corner are numerous but very scattered. There are few clans like mine and several elders that govern together. Each clan usually has its own leader, whether large or small, which often leads to wars and disputes. Here, this is quite normal; smaller clans are forced to join others or face extinction." 0

"I think we should do this: given our current strength, it's very difficult to search for the Life Stone. Since it's already so challenging just in this first location, why not stop here? Let's stay and train for a while before moving on. We can take this opportunity to help you unify these Demon Dragons. What do you all think?" Since we were prepared to act, we might as well go all out. I smiled at everyone, feeling as if we were a group of desperate outlaws who had no choice but to fight. 0

After hearing my words, everyone fell silent. Compared to the thoughtful seniors, Nitian seemed somewhat excited; his clenched fists, raised eyebrows, and tightly pressed lips all told me he was thrilled about this. 0

"This has been my wish for a long time. Only by doing this will we have a better chance against Siyimo in the future. As long as the Demon Dragon Clan breaks free from here, I dare say no clan in the underworld will underestimate us again!" Nitian responded with a smile. 0

"Yes, that's a plan, and it can also swiftly enhance our Soul Power. However, Nitian, please elaborate on the clans here so everyone can study them," Yin Yue said calmly. If we could really unify the Demon Dragons, it would greatly help him in dealing with his aunt in the future. 0

"But there's no rush right now. Everyone should go rest first; tomorrow I'll invite several elders over so we can discuss unification," Yin Yue said while glancing at me slightly. Indeed, after that life-and-death battle earlier, I had very little Soul Power left; he had been so attentive. 0

"Alright then, it's settled. I'll go find a few elders," Nitian said excitedly as he rushed out, clearly unable to contain himself. I hope we can truly help him. 0

"Xi Meng, let's go rest for now. You should get some rest too," Flower Tears said with a smile as she walked alongside White Soul towards the second floor. 0

"Xi Meng." Suddenly, Silver Moon called out to me. 0

"What is it, Senior?" 0

"Go talk to the Wild Ghost. He was worried about you just now." With that, Silver Moon walked towards the second floor. I watched his back, feeling something strange about it. 0

The Ghost Scholar didn't head to the second floor but walked outside instead. Worried about me? Isn't Senior Ghost someone who rarely talks to me? He had been quite silent during our earlier conversation. Despite these thoughts, I followed his figure and stepped forward. 0

"Senior Ghost, wait a moment." I called out lightly, and his back seemed to stiffen before he stopped. He slowly turned his head to look at me without saying a word. Oh no, I didn't know what to say, and we were stuck in this awkward silence. 0

"Why aren't you going to rest?" Senior Ghost spoke first, his voice still cold. 0

"Ah, I'm not that tired yet." After thinking for a moment, that was all I could come up with. 0

"Go rest. Also, don't do what happened today again." Senior Ghost coldly dropped this statement and turned to walk away. 0

"If you were me back then, what would you have done?" I lowered my head. Although I usually felt inexplicably afraid of him due to the unsettling aura he carried, I still asked the question. 0

Senior Ghost didn't reply; he just continued walking forward. Forget it, I thought. Senior Ghost is cold to everyone; how could he care about me? Shaking my head, I decided to go rest since there was still so much to do. 0

After a while, amidst the gentle sound of the wind, there seemed to be a faint voice. "I will worry about you." Unfortunately, apart from him who spoke, no one else heard it. 0
