"No!"
The wails of Mosang echoed in my ears, and I just wanted this to end quickly.
The trembling earth and the angry stones seemed to want to swallow everything.
"I want you all to be buried with me!"
"This is bad, we need to run, Mosang has gone mad!" shouted the defiant one.
Silver Moon pulled me up, ready to charge out, but where were we? Could we control this? Of course not. The overwhelming pressure left us nowhere to hide.
We stood back to back in a circle, shrinking smaller and smaller, watching as Mosang prepared to bury everything alive.
"Don't be afraid."
I looked up at Silver Moon; he still wore a calm smile, tightly holding my right hand. The awareness of danger somehow made me feel much calmer.
"I'm not afraid." I lightly shook my head and smiled back.
With you here, I truly am not afraid. I thought as I held on tighter.
Is it really going to end?
No! The ending shouldn't be like this!
"Five thousand Low-Level Nether Beasts in the Holy Circle for defense, five thousand Intermediate Nether Beasts in a battle formation, charge out! Four Advanced Nether Beasts to protect everyone. Wind, Water, Thunder, Point, Fire, Snow, go and trap Mosang!"
"Little Pink, come out and lead the way!"
"No, Master, what will you do?"
"I can't leave; someone has to control the Underworld Beast."
"No way, I'm not leaving either."
"Little Pink, you have to listen to me. If you stay here, everyone will die."
"We are bound by life and death; I'm not afraid!"
"This isn't the time for that. If you still consider me your Master, then take them away immediately!"
"Master—"
"Go now!"
"But they won't let you stay alone."
"Just keep it from them for now."
"Calm down a bit more, Xi Meng!"
She tugged at Yin Yue's arm and whispered to him.
"Yue, there's another way to get out."
"What is it?"
"Later, you all follow Little Pink. My Underworld Beast will protect you as you leave."
"What about you?" Yin Yue frowned slightly, seeming a bit doubtful.
"I'll be fine. I know a secret passage that Bai Li once told me about, but there are too many of us to escape easily. I will stay behind with the Underworld Beast to hold off Mosang for now."
"Then it's settled. They can go first, and I'll stay with you."
"No, I know how to get out. Having too many people will only complicate things!"
"That won't happen. I can help you."
"Yue, don't you trust me?"
"Of course I trust you."
"Then hurry and leave. If you wait too long, I won't be able to hold Mosang back anymore. Go on, wait for me outside."
"Don't lie to me."
"Yeah."
Silver Moon nodded, signaling everyone to follow him. Flower Tears was dead, yet the wild ghost unhesitatingly carried White Soul. Zhen'er stumbled at the back, staring intently at Silver Moon's figure. Against the odds, he was now the highest-ranked among them, ready to protect everyone's safety at any moment.
Let's go, and never come back!
"Mosang, it's just us left." I said coldly, glancing at the two figures lying on the ground.
"Having you accompany me in death isn't so bad." Mosang replied bravely. His strength was now about the same as mine; Bai Li had indeed taken a large part of his life.
"Who told us we owed others?" I had promised back then that I would give my life for him.
"Hahaha, we all owe! Not bad, I'm starting to appreciate you a bit!"
"Then you really are getting old and slow; only now do you see my worth." I couldn't help but mock him.
"Hmph, instead of bickering with me, why don't you think about how to die without too much pain!"
I simply walked over to Bai Li, sat down beside him, took his hand, and waited for the shattering here to bury everything as I quietly closed my eyes.
...
"Xi Meng, Xi Meng—"
"Who is calling me?" Mosang said disdainfully, pouting. "What?"
"Xi Meng!"
It's Silver Moon! Why is he back again?
"Xi Meng," said the Rebellious One.
Wild Ghost, White Soul, what, everyone is back?!
"You lied to me," Silver Moon said as he walked over quickly.
"Why aren't you leaving? Hurry up and go." I said while keeping a wary eye on Mosang, unsure when the Underworld Beast might lose control over him.
"You forgot, we are friends; we can't leave anyone behind," the Rebellious One also approached and said.
"We can't leave you behind." Wild Ghost spoke softly, but his tone was very firm.
And then there was White Soul; he couldn't hear or see anything. He stood to the side, slightly curling his lips.
"Be obedient." Silver Moon smiled brightly, truly like the moon, so dazzling.
"Hah, it's a pity that Bai Li that fool thinks he can save you. Unfortunately, he is nothing at all, just a waste." Mosang said.
"Shut up." I gritted my teeth and spat out those words; I really wanted to kill him.
"Since you all want to die, then stay here and accompany me, hahahahaha." Mosang laughed maniacally, clearly affected by Flower Tears' death.
Yes, our group of six originally thought we could reach the end together, at least sharing life and death. We never expected that someone would start leaving us so soon.
"Mosang, do you know your mistake?"
Suddenly, the ground stopped shaking, as if everything began to freeze. A distant female voice echoed.
"Do you know your mistake?" the voice asked again.
Seeing the puzzled expressions on everyone's faces, I confirmed that I hadn't misheard, but there was no one in sight.
"Flower—Flower Goddess?"
Mosang's voice trembled instantly, seemingly mixed with a hint of reverence.
Flower Goddess? The same Flower Goddess who regarded Flower Tears as her own daughter?
If it really is her, why has she come here…
