Amo frowned in dissatisfaction but said nothing further.
"Little girl, the doctor is here. Let him take a look at your brother," a woman said as she entered, followed by a hunched old man. The old man had his eyes closed, his body covered in wrinkles, and he walked with a slight tremor.
"Hello, could you please check my brother?" I said as I helped the old man to the bedside, but he trembled slightly at my touch, then seemed to act as if nothing had happened.
The old man placed his hand on Amo's forehead, then suddenly withdrew it and asked, "Who are you?"
Amo was in a bad mood and ignored the old man.
"He is my brother, doctor. What is wrong with him?" I asked.
The old man seemed startled and sighed, "I'm getting old, really old. I've been away from the outside world for too long; I don't know anything anymore."
"What do you mean?" I didn't understand what the old man was saying.
"Ah, if it were someone else, I would just tell them to wait for death. But looking at you two, you don't seem like ordinary people. There might still be hope, just maybe."
"Is it serious? Is he badly injured?!"
"It's not light, but we don't have the medicine here to treat him."
"Medicine? Please tell me; I can go find it."
To be honest, I wasn't sure either. This was the first time I had heard the word "medicine" since coming here. Did they need medicine here?
"It's not far from here, but it's a bit dangerous. Are you up for it?" the old man asked.
"Danger?"
"Yes, you have two choices. First, spend money to buy it. Second, go find it yourself."
"Money... I don't have any."
"Then that's it; you can only go find it."
"No way, you can't let her go there alone; it's too dangerous!" Auntie pulled me and shook her head vigorously.
"Then I can't help you," the old man said.
"It's okay, Auntie, let's hear what the doctor has to say first."
"You child, you just arrived and don't understand; it's not as simple as you think here!" Of course, I knew that if Auntie knew my experiences, she wouldn't think it was simple either.
"Go to the Void; there's medicine your brother needs."
"Void?"
"If you decide to go, I can take you there in a bit, but the dangers there are beyond your imagination," Deep said.
The old man frowned and shook his head. I was a bit curious; could he sense the difference between me and Amo...
"Thank you, Auntie. So what medicine do I need to find?"
"Sixth-Level Ice Attribute Beast Inner Pill."
"My goodness!" Aunt exclaimed softly.
My heart skipped a beat. A Sixth-Level Beast Inner Pill?! Perhaps it wouldn't have been difficult during my peak, but in my current state, how could that be possible?!
"If I were to buy it with money, how much would it cost?"
Aunt looked at me with difficulty and said, "Even if we sold everything in the village, we wouldn't be able to gather enough for even a fraction of that inner pill."
...Well, I really have no concept of money; it seems like a lot.
"Are you really sure about this, little girl? Maybe your brother won't survive, and you might—"
"I don't understand the Void, but I want to go." I looked at Amo.
Amo, who had previously closed his eyes in anger, stirred just then but did not open them. For some reason, I always felt that Amo was very important to me. He might help me find Silver Moon; I've always had this feeling that there must be some connection.
"Don't worry, brother. I will definitely cure you."
"Thank you, doctor. Please take care of my brother here; I'm going to the Void now."
"Alright, go ahead." The old man had little expression.
"Aunt, let's go."
"Sigh, fine, but I can only take you to the entrance."
"Okay."
In the void, there exists everything you could possibly desire, but whether you can obtain it depends on your own abilities. Slaughter, chaos, death—constantly wandering in the void; if you step inside, do not forget the way back.
Moon, can I really find you?
...
On the dilapidated bed, the Noble Man spoke.
"You shouldn't have let her go there."
"She is your sister; it is naturally her choice." The contrast between the old man and the young boy was striking, making one sigh at the beauty of youth.
"She will die."
"You are her brother and did not stop her; what can I say? But truly, do you remember nothing at all?"
The man shook his head; he had really forgotten everything.
"What is your name?"
"...Amo," the man hesitated to say these two words. For some reason, all that echoed in his mind was that sweet and warm female voice repeating "Amo."
"Alas, she is a good girl; it's just a pity that you both have such bad luck."
