"But you really don't know where the Grim Reaper is?" So where are we supposed to meet the Grim Reaper?
"You know, don't you?" Southern King replied leisurely.
"Me? How would I know?"
"Purple Seal, what are you doing?!" Northern King turned around and pulled me behind him.
"What do you think?"
"Oh? What rule have I broken?"
"You—"
"What about me? Are you afraid her heart will lean towards me?"
"I don't care what she thinks, but I found her first."
"I know, so what?"
"Since I have tolerated your shameless joining halfway, please refrain from those little tricks. This is the last time I'm warning you!"
"What are you two talking about?" I interjected.
"Don't talk to him anymore, just follow me." Northern King didn't answer and dragged me forward.
"Hey, do you know how to find the Grim Reaper?" After spending some time together, I realized that the Northern King was just a paper tiger. Although his temper wasn't very gentle, he wouldn't actually harm me.
The Northern King didn't seem to mind my way of speaking to him; he just made a slight grimace and said, "I don't know."
"Then why are you dragging me along?!"
"Let's just go for now."
"I'm not going; this is a complete waste of time!" I shouted as I pulled my hand away from him.
The Southern King must know something. Even though I didn't particularly like him, thinking he wasn't as straightforward as the Northern King and that his thoughts were too convoluted.
The Northern King seemed surprised by my sudden anger and hesitation. After a long silence, he asked, "Do you trust him or do you trust me?" His tone was low, almost with a hint of softness?
"I, I—" I struggled to find the words and sighed, "I just want to find the Grim Reaper quickly."
"Then promise me that no matter what happens, you will trust your heart, okay?"
With that tone, I really couldn't refuse.
"Alright, just like the Purple Seal said, you can feel the Grim Reaper."
"Me? I don't feel anything at all?"
"That's because your heart isn't calm yet."
"How do I calm it down?"
"Just like every time you open the 'Gates of Hell.'"
"But—" If I had known that bringing them here would lead to this scene, perhaps I wouldn't have been so resolute.
"This is the rule between the three realms; you should have gotten used to it by now, shouldn't you?"
Should I? I should have accepted all of this...
"One day, you will pay the price for your softness and indecisiveness."
Heh, it's still the same old story. I'm always reminded by those around me that this is indeed my fatal flaw. How can I harden my heart?
"Ink Seal, if you won't let me do that, then what does this count as?" Southern King asked with a smile.
I really don't like him. He feels like a venomous snake to me, showing no emotions and making it impossible to guess his thoughts, always squinting his eyes slightly with a smile.
But now, I can see his anger. Whatever has caused such a reaction from them must be significant.
"Alright, enough of that. Finding the Grim Reaper is our priority, isn't it?" The more they act like this, the more I need to find the Grim Reaper quickly, clarify everything, and get out of this trouble.
"I'm sorry, but that's probably not possible right now," Southern King said.
"Why?!" I asked.
"Purple Seal, don't go too far," Northern King said.
We almost spoke at the same time, looking at Southern King.
"This isn't fair," said the Southern King.
"Why don't you tell me what's going on, and then we can solve it together?" I couldn't wait any longer for them to continue arguing and dragging things out.
"Alright, I agree," the Southern King was the first to consent.
The Northern King shot him a glance and nodded, which counted as agreement.
"You go ahead," the Northern King pointed at the Southern King.
"I'll say it. So... where do I start?" The Southern King seemed unsure of what to say; it appeared the story was too long.
"Get to the point," the Northern King prompted.
"Okay, I'll keep it brief. When I and Ink Seal became the Southern King and Northern King respectively, the Grim Reaper summoned us. He said there was a game, and the winning side could make a wish."
"You know when you come to hell, a wish from the Grim Reaper is incredibly valuable for us."
"Do you want to change hell?" I asked nonsensically. After all, hell was too miserable.
"No, we wouldn't be foolish enough to make unrealistic wishes. Hell is like this; the rules will never be broken."
"So what is your wish?"
"To leave," the Southern King said without hesitation.
"Leave? Just leave?"
"Ha ha, do you know how difficult it is to leave this place?" Southern King said weakly.
"Can't you be reincarnated?"
"Yes, we can be reincarnated and go to the underworld or the divine realm, but neither I nor Ink Seal can ever leave this place. Every day, we are punished, and I have even forgotten why, forgotten the past; it's been too long..."
"So, you fight each other and swallow each other's territories for that one wish?"
"That's right. Our strengths are too similar, so we can only rely on a third party."
"Ha ha ha ha ha." I laughed.
"What are you laughing at?"
"Why can't you complete it together and then make a wish to leave with each other?" I said.
Southern King and Northern King were taken aback, looking at each other in a daze.
"So, you can only see hopelessness in this cold and cruel place called hell; all you think about is fighting each other."
"Sigh, tell me, what is Death God's Game?"
