To understand the power of fire, could it be that this Hermaphrodite Mouse has a body as strong as iron and copper?!
What kind of monster is this!
"Alright, I'll let you have your fill!" I refuse to believe she can withstand this!
"All Underworld Beasts, prepare—" I want to see how she can swallow all these over ten thousand Underworld Beasts!
The Duel Arena was immediately filled with Underworld Beasts, a dark mass that likely obscured my and the Hermaphrodite Mouse's figures from the outside.
"All of you, get into her belly!" I shouted, and the Underworld Beasts began to be sucked one by one into the mouth of the Hermaphrodite Mouse.
At first, the Hermaphrodite Mouse looked greedy and extremely excited, but gradually she began to resist, instinctively wanting to close her mouth. However, the Underworld Beasts kept crashing in, giving her no chance at all.
Her body became round; aside from her limbs, tail, and head, her entire body was swollen like a ball! She could hardly move, bouncing around the Duel Arena like a rubber ball.
In just a short moment, most of the Underworld Beasts had entered the belly of the Hermaphrodite Mouse. Her skin was stretched thin like a membrane, clearly revealing everything inside her body.
But what is that? There were many black spots moving rapidly.
They were definitely not Underworld Beasts. The Underworld Beasts are actually born from Nether Energy; once they entered the Hermaphrodite Mouse's body, they had already turned into gas and could not possibly have any physical form.
"Not good, Xi Meng, she's about to give birth!" Stone Stump shouted from below.
What?!
"Quickly stop her! This creature is a mutant; if so many Androgynous Mice are born, everyone will be in trouble!"
I, Great Terror, know that the reproductive and adaptive capabilities of mice are no joke; there are at least thousands of them inside the Hermaphrodite Mouse.
With gains come losses. The Androgynous Mouse has an innate reproductive advantage, but it can only pass on its lineage in a single line. If so many little mice were to suddenly appear, it would likely cause chaos, even in the Lost City of Lothar, where the balance would definitely be disrupted.
Not to mention whether those experts can arrive in time to exterminate the mice; they might not make it. These Little Ones could devour this entire Demon Realm in the blink of an eye.
...I fear it is already too late.
"All Underworld Beasts, take your positions! Seal them; we cannot let them out!" I shouted urgently.
"Bang—!" The belly of the Hermaphrodite Mouse burst open, and one by one, the Pups crawled out from its body in a frantic rush.
The Hermaphrodite Mouse lay on the ground, gasping for breath and no longer moving.
Nether Energy enveloped the Duel Arena, forming a rectangular cage that imprisoned thousands of Pups within.
"Now's our chance; kill them!" Stone Stump shouted loudly.
I watched as these Pups desperately struggled to escape, hesitating to take action.
"Xi Meng, once they break through your barrier, if you release them, you'll be in big trouble!" Stone Stump shouted again.
"Wind, Water, Thunder, Lightning, Fire, Snow, Phantom Destruction—!"
But I understood that with just this, it was still insufficient to contend with Siyimo.
After the powerful strike, silence returned within the barrier. I opened my tightly shut eyes and retracted a hint of guilt from my heart.
Reality is like this: survival of the fittest. In the end, a species has been extinguished by my hand...
The barrier opened, and I quietly asked in the Duel Arena, "Is there anyone else who wants to step up for a fight?"
No one responded.
The red light shone down again, and standing here, feeling its warmth was definitely different. I could clearly sense the immense power of its owner, even surpassing that of a prisoner.
Now we just had to wait for Stone Stump to finish another Duel Arena match, and then we could enter the second layer.
"Oh my god, what level are you?!" Stone Stump immediately approached and asked.
"Hard to say," I casually replied.
"You have two inner elixirs, with all six attributes complete, and they weren't acquired through later cultivation but were innate from the start," Stone Stump said.
I stopped and looked at Stone Stump warily. "How do you know that?"
"Don't overthink it. Didn't I say? Wherever there are stones, there's nothing I don't know. Your experiences can be easily discerned with just a thought," Stone Stump proudly raised his chin.
That's true; if it were someone from Siyimo, they wouldn't be so foolish as to reveal such things.
"There's really nothing to hide. One of my inner elixirs is focused on Soul Energy, probably at the High-ranking Dark Saint stage. The other one—"
"What level is it?!"
"Supreme Lord beginner."
"What?! Then why does it feel so strong?!"
"It's Nether Energy, which can counter everything in the underworld. Although it's only at the beginner level, as long as the opponent isn't at the peak of Supreme Lord, I can still hold my ground."
"Ah—" Stone Stump gasped, "Fortunately, I didn't choose the wrong person."
"Stop wasting time, hurry up and go to the arena," I said.
"Wait a minute, because of you, they have no chance now; everyone has gone to that Duel Arena to wait for their opportunity," Stone Stump replied with a pout.
"But it's strange; when did Mouse Demon become this strong? He even mutated; that shouldn't be possible. How did I not notice it before?" Stone Stump muttered to himself.
"Stop talking nonsense and go fight," I found a place to sit down and closed my eyes.
...
After finishing the fight, my unease grew stronger. There were still some doubts about Silver Moon that I hadn't clarified. No, I couldn't shake off my worry for Xiaopu.
"Hey, I'm about to go up; where are you going?!" Stone Stump asked hurriedly when he saw me get up.
"I'm going somewhere; I'll be back soon." With that, I hurriedly left, ignoring Stone Stump's shouting behind me.
Xiaopu, you must not get into trouble!
...
The Demon Realm is really annoyingly vast; every place looks almost the same, and I keep going in circles!
Just as I was cursing this place, a familiar scream came from ahead—
It was Xiaopu!
Only then did I sense that Xiaopu was in a very bad situation.
Xiaopu had limited abilities and was desperately protecting Silver Moon, already covered in wounds, struggling with all his might.
Damn it, those Ghostly Knights again!
Twenty Ghostly Knights surrounded Xiaopu and Silver Moon, their movements synchronized as they faced the two.
Xiaopu could not struggle anymore and closed his eyes to shield Silver Moon.
This is bad, I won't make it in time!
I suddenly realized that something was deliberately blocking our connection. Could it be the same at Chiba?!
Just as I arrived at the scene, twenty orbs of light shot towards Xiaopu and Silver Moon!
“No—!”
“Guardian Wings—”
…It was the Sun.
The timely appearance of the Sun finally protected Xiaopu at the last moment.
I let out a deep breath, feeling a chill throughout my body.
Just as I was about to step forward to help the Sun, those Ghostly Knights vanished in an instant, not making a move at all.
What was their purpose?
“How are you, Sun?” I asked urgently as I supported the Sun.
"Nothing, this little attack can't hurt me," said the Sun cheerfully.
As soon as he finished speaking, his expression suddenly turned grim, and his enormous wings retracted, transforming into a human form.
"You still say it's nothing!" I shouted.
The Sun's arms were marked with charred scars from being burned, with hardly any unscathed areas left.
"It's just my arms; it's nothing serious," the Sun forced a smile through the pain.
"Xiaopu, hurry up and help the Sun heal," I urged.
Since the Sun appeared, Xiaopu had been in a daze. Hearing my shout, he finally reacted a bit.
"Oh, oh!" Xiaopu didn't refuse as I feared; instead, he quickly stepped forward to tend to the Sun's wounds.
"How did you encounter those Ghostly Knights, and where is that guy Gauss?" I asked Xiaopu.
"Look closely, Xi Meng," the Sun said with a serious expression.
Xiaopu nodded and said, "Those are not Ghostly Knights, but members of the Ghost Shadow Clan. Didn't you notice their color is different from the four Ghostly Knights we encountered before?"
Indeed, I hadn't noticed in my haste; these twenty Ghostly Figures were deep brown, unlike the previous four Ghostly Knights, who were entirely black.
"I have never moved an inch here with His Highness; I don't know why they came," Xiaopu said in confusion.
"Did Yue... really not move at all?" As I spoke, I glanced at Silver Moon, who was leaning against the stone wall asleep. He seemed very tired, his brow furrowed tightly.
"Yes, shortly after you left, His Highness fell into a deep sleep. I don't know the reason either, but I've checked; his body is indeed not seriously harmed."
"Did you really not leave this place at all during that time?" I asked again.
"Yeah, I didn't go anywhere," Xiaopu confirmed.
I glanced at Silver Moon, hesitating to mention seeing someone similar to him at the Duel Arena, fearing that Xiaopu and the others might overthink it.
Suddenly, I recalled what Stone Stump had just said about the sudden mutation of the Mouse Demon, the appearance of those twenty Ghostly Figures, and— that figure resembling Silver Moon.
Was all of this just a coincidence, or was it premeditated?
I walked over to Silver Moon, reached out to smooth his furrowed brow, and gently asked, "Moon, what is it that’s causing you so much pain?"
Silver Moon slowly opened his eyes, looking dazed, and softly asked, "You’re back?"
At that moment, my heart trembled. How could I doubt him? Moon would never betray me.
"Yeah, sleep now. When you wake up again, I won’t leave your side," I said with a smile as I stroked Silver Moon's long hair.
Silver Moon didn’t respond but smiled wearily, nodding before closing his eyes again.
I sighed and withdrew my hand, placing a gentle kiss on his forehead.
"Sun, I'll trouble you to take care of them for now. I'll find Chiba and return to join you as soon as possible," I said as I stood up.
"Do you have any news about the last partner?" Sun asked.
"Yes, the Life Stone has reacted; however, we’ve lost contact with Chiba—there's no sense of him at all."
"This place isn’t as simple as you think. Be careful, and... don’t trust anyone," Sun advised, his eyes unconsciously drifting toward Silver Moon.
"That's Prince Silvermoon; you should know him from the academy," Xiaopu quickly explained, noticing my discomfort.
"Are you sure he is the Silvermoon you all talk about?" Taiyang's sharp gaze scrutinized Silvermoon again.
"It's fine, Xiaopu. It's right for Taiyang to be cautious," I said, turning to Taiyang. "What do you think is wrong with him?"
"Don't you feel it? The dark energy around him is too strong," Taiyang frowned.
"How could that be? I didn't notice anything," I replied.
"What about you? Didn't you feel anything?" Taiyang asked Xiaopu.
"There is a bit, but it's not strong," Xiaopu seemed hesitant to meet Taiyang's gaze.
At that moment, I didn't have time to consider why Xiaopu's emotions had shifted so dramatically; I was more puzzled by what Taiyang had said.
"That's intentionally concealed. Xi Meng, you're still human, so you're not very perceptive," Taiyang said solemnly.
