Liu You'er slowly woke up, the strong smell of blood on her body reminding her of what had happened yesterday. She closed her eyes again, feeling for Liu Yue and Xiaomin, and realized they were still at the factory from yesterday. Frowning slightly, she felt a bit uneasy. Just as she was about to stand up, she noticed that she was tied up. Her gaze sharpened as she looked around and found herself in a cluttered warehouse.
"Humans did this?"
This realization made Liu You'er feel somewhat frustrated. "Sleeping seems to be a big problem; I probably wouldn't even know if I was killed while asleep."
Looking at the ropes binding her, she thought, "With my current abilities, I could probably break free easily." She struggled a bit but found that the rope seemed to tighten on its own. Just as she was about to use electricity to cut the rope, she heard footsteps outside the warehouse—about five people. Liu You'er quickly turned her body toward the door, her expression alert, and white Electric Light flickered in her hand.
With a loud creak, the heavy warehouse door opened, and cold moonlight spilled in behind the five figures, making them appear as if cloaked in a faint silver glow. Due to the backlight, Liu You'er couldn't see their faces clearly.
The leading man was about 183 cm tall with a tall and upright figure. He slowly approached Liu You'er and stopped about five or six meters away from her. Finally able to see his refined features clearly, Liu You'er retracted her White Lightning and exclaimed in surprise, "Wang Luojie?"
The man hadn't initially paid much attention to the bound woman’s face, but upon hearing her voice, he froze for a moment and tentatively asked, "Liu You'er?"
Liu You'er nodded at him, inwardly marveling at how small the world felt. Wang Luojie was the president of the Judo Club and often practiced with her. Before the apocalypse, he had suddenly confessed his feelings to her. She had developed some affection for this considerate and gentle senior with good looks and accepted his confession. Little did she know that after accepting it, she would wake up to find herself in an apocalyptic world—this matter had slipped her mind entirely.
Wang Luojie didn’t realize that some people had only just remembered his existence; he immediately squatted down and hugged Liu You'er tightly, his voice trembling slightly as he said, "That's great! You're still alive! I've been wanting to find you, but there are too many zombies in the city. Now that I see you, I feel relieved!"
Liu You'er was not used to physical contact with others; being suddenly hugged made her body stiffen. Looking at the other four people who were exchanging glances awkwardly, she said a bit embarrassedly, "You should let me go first."
Wang Luojie listened to Liu You'er and finally realized that Liu You'er was still tied up. Feeling a bit embarrassed, he cleared his throat and said, "Sorry, I got a little too excited," then turned to the only woman among them and said, "Qiao Yue, loosen the ropes."
The woman was not clearly visible, standing about five feet five inches tall, but her figure was stunning enough to make any man’s heart race. Even Liu You'er, being of the same gender, couldn't help but let her gaze linger on her for a moment. To top it off, her voice was incredibly sweet as she softly replied, "Okay," and the ropes fell to the ground, causing Liu You'er to raise an eyebrow.
Seeing her expression, Wang Luojie thought she had never encountered an Ability user before and kindly explained, "Qiao Yue is an Ability user; her Ability allows her to inject her consciousness into objects, controlling and sensing them."
After hearing this, Liu You'er nodded in understanding and thought to herself, "No wonder they came in as soon as I moved the ropes; it turns out that Abilities are not just possessed by Zombies but also by humans. This is actually a good thing." She adjusted her mood and looked at Wang Luojie coldly, asking, "Do you all have Abilities?"
Wang Luojie was taken aback; it suddenly struck him that the woman before him seemed different. She radiated a cold aura, and although blood obscured her features, it could not hide the chill in her eyes. The Liu You'er he remembered was aloof but still showed hints of a girlish demeanor at times. Now she seemed...
This realization felt like a sharp sting in his heart; he wanted to know what she had experienced over the past month and why she had collapsed alone there. However, looking at her icy expression, he suppressed his excitement and confusion and said gently, "Yes, my Ability is fire control." After saying this, he stood up with her and walked over to the four men, saying, "This is my girlfriend, Liu You'er; why don't you introduce your Abilities to her?"
The young men appeared to be in their twenties. Upon hearing Wang Luojie's words indicating they were on the same side, they no longer maintained their earlier seriousness. Their expressions turned curious as they exchanged glances between him and Liu You'er with somewhat mischievous intentions. Only Qiao Yue seemed slightly surprised; she looked at Liu You'er with a friendly smile but remained silent.
As Liu You'er approached, she could see that this girl had an incredible figure yet looked exceptionally pure. Her skin was flawless, and her cherry lips resembled ripe fruit—full and inviting—making Liu You'er sigh inwardly: "Everyone I meet after the apocalypse is so good-looking!"
At that moment, a man around five feet nine inches tall with decent looks but somewhat sharp features suddenly approached with a grin and said, "I'm Monkey; I'm a speed Ability user. No one can outrun me!" Hearing his comical tone made Liu You'er chuckle lightly. She then glanced at the tall and sturdy man next to Monkey; he stood about six feet three inches tall with well-defined muscles and strong features. He spoke seriously: "Sun Xiang; my Ability is body petrification."
Liu You'er nodded and turned to the last man. He was slightly over five feet seven inches tall with a fair complexion and delicate features. Shyly he said, "My name is Lu Feng; my Ability is gravity control."
After listening to them, Liu You'er silently thought: "So there are so many types of Abilities; it seems I need to be more cautious in the future."
Wang Luojie looked at Liu You'er covered in blood and frowned with concern. He said, "I'll take Liu You'er to clean up; you all can head back." Then he took Liu You'er's hand and walked away amidst laughter.
Liu You'er glanced at the hand she was holding and then at the corner of Wang Luojie's mouth, which was unconsciously curved upwards. Feeling a bit embarrassed, she began to observe her surroundings.
It seemed like they were in the suburbs, where there weren't many houses and thus a low population density. For the five of them, all Ability Users, even if a First-Level Zombie appeared, they should be able to handle it. However, she had seen eight off-road vehicles on the way! This was a bit strange, indicating that there were more people here than just Wang Luojie and his group. So she curiously asked, "There don't seem to be many resources around here. Why are there so many people?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Luojie's expression briefly flashed with an imperceptible seriousness before he smiled at Liu You'er and said, "You tidy up first. I'll explain everything to you slowly later."
Liu You'er was taken aback. Looking at the door in front of her, she realized they had arrived. After following Wang Luojie inside, she felt awkward and wanted to drag out the owner of the house who had only hung a semi-transparent curtain in front of the bathroom and give them a good beating.
Wang Luojie's expression remained unchanged, but the slight flush on his ears betrayed him. He found a shirt of his own and handed it to Liu You'er, awkwardly saying, "This is mine. You can wear it for now. Call me when you're done; I'll help you dry your clothes." Then, without waiting for Liu You'er to respond, he hurriedly closed the door behind him.
"Uh..." Liu You'er looked at the military green shirt in her hands and felt a bit of a headache. Should she tell Wang Luojie about her space ability?
After thinking for a moment, she decided to keep it a secret for now. After all, in this apocalyptic world, people's hearts were hard to gauge; having an extra layer of protection was always good.
She walked into the bathroom and took a shower before entering her space; the bathroom was instantly empty.
Ten minutes later, Liu You'er reappeared in the bathroom. Thinking about the changes in her space made her very happy. Just as she was about to lift the curtain, she heard loud noises from outside. The next second, she found herself on the second floor.
