Liu You'er hurriedly dodged, but still couldn't withstand the simultaneous attack from two Second-Level Zombies. Caught off guard, one of the Second-Level Zombies grabbed her right arm, while the other Zombie began to emit a Blue Electric Light, striking towards her head with lightning force. 0

She couldn't evade in time; a flash of red light appeared in her eyes, and White Lightning erupted from her body, not only consuming the Blue Electric Light but also counterattacking the Second-Level Zombie. 0

The Zombie that had grabbed her was also affected by the Electric Light, being knocked back several steps. Seizing this opportunity, Liu You'er quickly retreated to maintain a safe distance from them. However, she was astonished to find that despite having absorbed that Blue Electric Light, her internal energy showed no signs of increase; there was no change at all! 0

Not far away, the crackling sound of electricity continued to approach, indicating that the two Zombies were not affected by the current at all. This was completely impossible; although Zombies did not recover their sense of pain, the stimulation from electricity should have caused them considerable discomfort. She had experienced it firsthand and knew how difficult it was to resist such mutated currents. 0

Fragments of various thoughts flashed through Liu You'er's mind, but it felt like a piece was missing, making it impossible for her to piece everything together, which frustrated her greatly. The two Zombies before her surprisingly lacked territorial awareness; they not only coordinated their attacks but also emitted White Lightning similar to hers! 0

The white light illuminated the faces of the two Zombies, causing Liu You'er to widen her eyes. The missing fragments in her mind seemed to come together as countless Electric Lights struck towards her. 0

"Buzz." 0

With a sound reminiscent of a malfunctioning machine, Liu You'er found herself back in a bright space. All she could see was white; apart from the cameras in each corner of the room, there were no other facilities. There were no doors around her, making it impossible to exit or see what was happening outside—there weren't even any windows. 0

"Buzz~" 0

Another mechanical sound followed, and a cold, emotionless female voice spoke again: "Congratulations on passing the test. Your evaluation result is Variational Lightning Ability User." 0

Only then did Liu You'er realize that the voice came from the four cameras. The sound emitted by the cameras could be reflected off the walls, which is why she couldn't locate its source. As for everything that had just happened, she had already reacted when she saw that the two Zombies looked exactly like the one in the warehouse. Thus, she managed to wake up in time and avoid being killed by her own "imagination." 0

I heard that a scientist once conducted an experiment where a person was tied up, blindfolded, and gagged. After torturing him to the point where he completely believed that the person in front of him would kill him, the scientist whispered in his ear, "I'm going to kill you now; how about I cut your wrist?" 0

Ignoring the bound person's violent struggles, the scientist lightly grazed his wrist with a blade. About half an hour later, the subject died, but in reality, his wrist had not been cut. The sound he heard of his own blood dripping was merely the sound of water droplets falling... 0

Just now, I must have been in a similar hypnotic state. When I first entered the room, everything was pitch black, and coupled with the fear of the unknown, my attention was at its peak. However, the sudden mechanical voice caused my awareness to relax. The sufficient psychological suggestion of "danger" combined with this strange atmosphere successfully hypnotized me, putting me in a situation similar to that of the Experimenter—only mine was more severe. 0

For me, in this apocalyptic world, besides Zombies, there were no other threats. My brain processed this information and indeed "manufactured" Zombies, continuously increasing their difficulty based on my own abilities. 0

Due to self-suggestion, I couldn't perceive it immediately. By the time I realized something was wrong, I was already deeply hypnotized. Moreover, not understanding the base's strength meant that my doubts weren't enough to wake me up. But in the end, when I saw two identical faces of Second-Level Zombies, I suddenly snapped back to reality; otherwise, I would have likely "killed" myself. 0

It was fortunate that I had only seen one Second-Level Zombie before and had not encountered any powerful Ability users; my imagination was limited. My brain replicated that Zombie's face; otherwise, I would have been done for! As for the severely injured Queen Ant?! Ha ha, this base probably couldn't even capture that monster with countless offspring! If I had truly imagined the Queen Ant, I would have woken up even earlier! 0

However, one thing still bothered me: why was there no damage to the surrounding walls despite all that noise? Was I hypnotized again? 0

Liu You'er’s gaze darkened as she unleashed white Electric Light towards the wall, only to find that it seemed to possess some kind of magic that absorbed her energy! 0

"Zzz~" 0

Liu You'er quickly turned around and noticed that the original wall began to morph on its own again. She frowned, still pondering how she had been hypnotized when her thoughts were interrupted by a pair of tear-streaked red eyes meeting hers. Looking at the other person's disheveled appearance left her feeling helpless. 0

As soon as she stepped outside, she saw the other person looking like they wanted to approach but were somewhat... "shy," almost like a little girl. This made her question this boy's future orientation. 0

Thoughts were still swirling chaotically in her mind when she suddenly heard a strange man's light chuckle from inside the Factory behind her. 0

Turning around instinctively, she found that the door had already disappeared. The feeling of being watched intensified her unease, and she thought to herself, "It seems that leveling up cannot wait!" 0

Yue Xingze looked at the woman's serious expression and felt a bit worried. He wanted to say something but realized he didn't even know her name. He hurriedly wiped his tear-streaked face with his clothes and shyly asked, "What is your name?" 0

"Huh?" 0

Liu You'er finally realized that she had been so focused on the rules that she hadn't told anyone her name. She felt helpless, thinking about how she had gone from worrying about the boy's sexual orientation to his life choices. It seemed this kid was quite naive, willing to follow her without even knowing her name. If she sold him, he would probably ask her to use the money to live well! 0

Thinking of this, she couldn't help but laugh out loud, startling Yue Xingze beside her. He thought Liu You'er wouldn't laugh so happily. However, seeing her bright expression made him smile as well, even though he didn't understand why she was laughing. 0

Liu You'er found it even funnier that this silly boy was laughing along with her. Playfully, she suddenly leaned closer to his face, watching him nervously retract his smile as his face turned red again. She began to mercilessly pinch his skin, which was smoother than a girl's, while pretending to speak fiercely: "You know what I'm thinking, yet you're laughing so happily, huh?!" 0

Yue Xingze's face was being distorted from the pinching; he could only twist his expression and mumble, "I... I don't know..." 0

Upon hearing this, Liu You'er continued in a mock fierce tone: "I'm going to sell you for food! Make you do hard labor! Use you as bait! Do you understand?!" 0

Seeing Yue Xingze's dazed expression made her feel great. She laughed heartily and released her grip before turning to leave. This was probably the first time since the apocalypse that she felt so happy because of another person! 0

Inside the laboratory 0

A disheveled man sat between six computers, his eyes shining with the cold light of a predator before the hunt. He toyed with a dull Core in his hand and muttered to himself, "A Zombie with human consciousness? Huh~ I won't waste this second-level Core..." 0
