Liu You'er's consciousness was fading, and the extreme pain had finally lessened enough for her to temporarily forget where she was.
She lifted her head and looked around with a confused expression, murmuring, "Where am I? What is this place?"
Wei Yuan, observing through the glass wall, noted that after ten hours of toxin infusion, Liu You'er still retained some cognitive awareness, which only intensified the gleam in his eyes.
He turned to Researcher B, who was recording data beside him, and said, "Stop using only Common Zombie toxin; add advanced mutated Zombie toxin into the mix. I want to see how much toxin her body can actually endure!"
Researcher B frowned at Wei Yuan's words, feeling that this plan was too reckless. After all, Liu You'er might be the only Zombie in the world that still retained a human brain. If she were to endure too much virus and mutate, it would be one thing; the worst-case scenario would be her exploding from the strain!
He discreetly observed Wei Yuan's expression and sensed that Wei Yuan seemed to be in a good mood. Taking a deep breath, he said, "Isn't this a bit risky? We have plenty of time; there's no need to rush into this today."
Upon hearing his words, Wei Yuan's lips curled into a mocking smile as he replied, "Are you questioning me? Or do you think your abilities surpass mine?"
Researcher B caught a glimpse of the coldness in Wei Yuan's eyes and shivered as he said, "I was just offering a small suggestion; how could I ever question you, Director? Hahaha..."
Unfortunately, no matter how loudly Researcher B laughed, it couldn't mask the terrifying aura emanating from Wei Yuan.
He struggled to steady his trembling hands and legs while his heart raced.
Wei Yuan was known for being twisted; however, due to the scarcity of researchers after the apocalypse, he usually didn't go too far. But one thing was clear: anyone who dared to question or doubt his abilities would face dire consequences.
Just as Researcher B felt he could no longer withstand that chilling gaze, Wei Yuan withdrew his attention and said lightly, "You can go now."
Researcher B felt a wave of relief wash over him. After expressing his gratitude to Wei Yuan profusely, he exited the room while inwardly cursing, "He's only thirty! Twenty years younger than me! So rude; I wonder how he was raised! Hmph!"
After a while, he suddenly felt the urge to go, so he informed Wei Yuan and hurried off to the restroom.
Wei Yuan's gaze remained fixed on the fainted Liu You'er, but he said, "Quan Quan, it's time to eat~"
Researcher B had just finished and let out a comfortable sigh. Cautiously, he asked from the restroom, "Is anyone there?"
After waiting a few seconds without a response, he took long strides to the sink, washing his hands while saying, "If it weren't for the zombies running rampant right now, I would definitely go to B City to seek refuge with Chuze. Who would want to work with a pervert like you!"
"But speaking of which, once the vaccine is developed, I will definitely vent all my grievances from this time. You just wait, you little brat!"
"Really?"
The sudden voice made Researcher B break out in a cold sweat as he panickedly asked, "Who? Who's in the restroom?"

Hearing that familiar lazy tone, Researcher B immediately fell to his knees, repeatedly saying things like "I'm sorry," "Please forgive me," and "I won't do it again."
Unfortunately, the door of another stall slowly opened before his terrified eyes, revealing a Little Zombie drooling and staring at him with bright eyes.
He recognized this Little Zombie and hurriedly got up to dash out the door. However, before he could take even one step, his head was grabbed.
In the next moment, the lights went out, followed by a sound of bones separating. Then all that remained was the sound of crunching.
Meanwhile, no one in the research lab noticed this incident; they were methodically mixing the mutated Zombie toxin into the Common Zombie toxin.
Liu You'er was already dazed and confused; it felt as if his body was being corroded by Sulfuric Acid and was in excruciating pain. Just when he thought it was easing up a bit, little did he know they were about to unleash a big move!
As the new liquid was injected, her eyes widened to the extreme, as if her eyeballs were about to pop out of their sockets. Her face contorted in agony, and her teeth made sharp grinding sounds.
With the toxins continuously entering her body, she managed to squeeze out a few words intermittently.
"Let... me... go... it hurts..."
Due to her intense struggles, deep blood marks were left where she was shackled by the Iron Shackles, but she was completely unaware of it.
Finally, unlike five hours ago when she screamed but still retained some rationality, she began to lose her mind completely, screaming and struggling with all her might like a true Zombie.

At that moment, although Liu You'er could see through the glass wall and hear Wei Yuan's voice, she no longer understood what he was saying.
Liu You'er felt that her already burdened body was being injected with different energies that were constantly colliding within her. This caused her cells to explode repeatedly, yet the energy contained in the toxins kept restoring her cells.

Wei Yuan furrowed his brow as he looked at the brutal light in Liu You'er's eyes and the cruel smile at the corner of her mouth, suddenly feeling a sense of fear.

He turned and rushed into the control room, his hands swiftly manipulating over a hundred buttons.
At that moment, a small blade suddenly appeared from the Iron Shackles around Liu You'er's neck, quickly slicing into her artery.
Two seconds later, her dark red blood gushed out like a fountain from her veins, staining the glass wall in front of her.
As the blood flowed out, her energy sharply decreased. With an increased dosage of Sedative, the brutal light in her eyes also dimmed.
Wei Yuan watched as the situation was brought under control and added some coagulant to the Sedative. Once Liu You'er's blood stopped gushing, he let out a sigh of relief.
It was only then that he realized he was drenched in sweat.
Feeling uncomfortable, he shifted his body and walked out of the Control Room, saying, "While the experimental subject is unconscious, set up the Electrotherapy Machine. I'll continue when I get back!"
Then he turned back to take a deep look at Liu You'er's whitening hair, scoffed lightly, and walked back to the resting room...
