Liu Yue looked at the incoming artillery fire and immediately realized he had been deceived. He turned and ran wildly to avoid the shells.
At the same time, the two Third-Level Zombies that had been guarding Liu Yue sprang out from their hiding places. Just as a shell was about to hit Liu Yue, they transformed into metal, shielding him beneath them.
"Boom boom boom..."
The sound of explosions lasted for a full twenty minutes, with flames erupting in front of the base, smoke filling the air, and craters left on the ground, resembling a battlefield.
Listening to the continuous explosions, Liu You'er’s ears twitched as if she suddenly thought of something. She no longer kept her head down in a detached manner but instead looked blankly toward Liu Yue's position. The reflected flames in her eyes appeared dazzling.
However, no one noticed Liu You'er's change; everyone was trying to see through the thick smoke to understand the situation.
The gunfire was too intense. Even with the protection of two Third-Level Metalized Zombies, Liu Yue sustained several injuries, but fortunately, none were fatal.
Unfortunately, the two Zombies fared worse; one had its head blown apart halfway and was barely alive.
The other was severely injured, left with only one arm and covered in small wounds, as if wrapped in blood.
Yet they still stood in front of Liu Yue, their expressions fierce and their gazes vigilant.
Fortunately, Liu Yue hadn’t ordered these Zombies to move far away but instead told them to hide. Otherwise, he would have definitely been doomed!
Seeing the miserable state of the two Zombies beside him ignited a surge of anger within him, transforming into endless slaughter. His pupils vanished, and even the whites of his eyes turned blood red.
At that moment, the Horde that had initially been commanded to leave and wander around, along with the Zombies within the Horde that were fighting each other for territory, all stopped their movements simultaneously and looked toward the base.
Then they all began to walk toward the base, while Advanced Zombies leaped out of the Horde and sprinted toward the base at their fastest speed.
Not only that, all the Zombies within a hundred miles received orders, as if they were injected with adrenaline, charging towards the base. If this continued, the base would be surrounded by the Horde again in less than an hour!
But this time, it was not Common Zombies, but tens of thousands of Advanced Zombies!
However, Li Lei was still unaware of this. Watching Liu Yue limping back, he thought Liu Yue had exhausted his energy. Of course, he would never let Liu Yue go, as that would be akin to letting a tiger return to the mountain! He wasn't that foolish!
But how could he make him stop?
Li Lei's gaze slowly turned to A Researcher, causing the already agitated heart of the researcher to tighten again as he immediately understood Li Lei's intention.
A light breeze carrying a hint of blood brushed against Liu Yue's shoulder, and the wind entered his nose, successfully halting his steps.
Turning his head to look at the city wall, he noticed A Researcher holding a dripping knife. Frowning, he glanced at Liu You'er and indeed saw a fresh wound on her neck.
Seeing Liu Yue stop, Li Lei shouted loudly, "You are not allowed to move! For every step you take, I will make a cut on her. Do you understand?"
The violent rage within Liu Yue was almost uncontrollable as he glared at A Researcher, grinding his teeth with a creaking sound. Yet he still obeyed Li Lei and did not move.
But he wasn't foolish enough to trust Li Lei again!
Instead, he commanded the controlled Zombies to conceal their movements. As long as they could hold on a little longer, they would be able to infiltrate the base and kill these worthless humans!
This time, he did not intend to follow Liu You'er's previous orders; he had to kill those who dared to harm Liu You'er and deceived him! Just hold on a little longer!!!
Wei Yuan watched the red dots rushing towards the base on the screen. Opening the satellite imagery, he discovered that these Advanced Zombies were diligently hiding their tracks, scattering in different directions to minimize their target size and avoid detection by humans.
Meanwhile, Liu Yue appeared to be enduring it all, his eyes angrily fixed on the city wall without showing any signs of distress.
Seeing this situation, Wei Yuan crossed his legs and leaned back against the chair, muttering to himself, "So the Third-Level Zombie can do this, how unexpected."
At this moment, Liu Yue appeared unscathed, but his brain was increasingly aching, as if being repeatedly stabbed by countless sharp needles. Yet he maintained a calm expression, staring intently at the high wall.
He knew that any movement on his part could arouse the suspicion of these cunning humans, so he could only endure.
Li Lei remained still because his subordinates were setting up a new type of missile, which would be ready in ten minutes. Once it was set up, even if Liu Yue faced two more Third-Level Metalized Zombies, they would be reduced to ashes.
The green Sedative continued to flow into Liu You'er’s body, yet her mind was surprisingly clear.
The sounds of explosions and the flames before her successfully stimulated her brain nerves, forcing her to relive the hell of that fateful day in a car accident. Regret filled her heart as her hands instinctively clenched tightly.
Although she had only regained a small portion of her consciousness and her senses were not fully awakened, she desperately knew that she needed strength, needed to change the situation, and needed to rescue the person engulfed in flames! She would not let history repeat itself!
The residual Zombie toxins still rampaged within her body; however, a thread-like white energy gradually began to gather, slowly consuming those toxins.
As more toxins were devoured, that energy increased as well. Her previously blurry vision started to clear up, and the faint sounds around her grew louder.
Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her neck. Confused, she looked over and saw a Bald Uncle wearing a white coat, about 175 cm tall, wielding a knife and gesturing wildly over her body while looking crazily at the city wall, appearing quite neurotic.
At that moment, a burly man shouted from below the wall: "Don't move any further! For every step you take, I will cut her once. Do you understand?"
Liu You'er looked at the man pointing at her in confusion and thought: Why does he want to hurt me if he moves? What does it have to do with me?
With a hint of anger, she glanced down at the wall to see who was causing her trouble. After staring for a while, she suddenly felt that he looked somewhat familiar.
"Who is this? Do I know him?"
Due to the severe damage to her brain over the past couple of days, she temporarily lost her memory, and her brain's reaction speed had significantly slowed down.
At that moment, she heard a soldier behind her whispering, "Hurry up, set up the missiles! I don't want to see that many Zombies again! It's a nightmare!"
"That many Zombies? Strange, aren't there just three? Where did the rest come from? And why is Liu Yue here? Shouldn't she be at home?"
"Wait, who is Liu Yue? Liu Yue, Liu Yue is..."
Liu You'er fell into deep thought, trying to remember who Liu Yue was. Meanwhile, the fastest group of Zombies still had half an hour before they would reach the base!
"Report! Missiles are set up!"
"Dong~"
Liu You'er's mind suddenly cleared. The recovery of her memory made her struggle violently, ignoring the reopening of her wounds.
She used her Mental Power repeatedly in an attempt to break free from her restraints but found it impossible. Her expression turned more terrified; her eyes widened as she screamed in agony, "Get away! Get away!!!"
Unfortunately, her vocal cords were too damaged, and amidst the roar of the missile launch, her voice sounded exceptionally small.
Although Liu Yue couldn't hear what Liu You'er was saying, his intuition told him that he wouldn't be able to escape this wave of missiles.
However, he noticed that Liu You'er seemed to be regaining her vitality and was still talking to him. His mood lifted as a sunny smile appeared on his face. Just as he saw her mouth forming the word "sister," she was struck by a missile.
Though others couldn't hear it, A Researcher was already tense. Now feeling Liu You'er's desperate voice, he realized she was starting to lose control and became even more fearful.
He looked at Liu You'er, who radiated an aura of destruction. In a fit of rage, he forcefully injected all the remaining toxins into her body while cursing like a madman, "I told you to lose control! I told you to lose control! Bitch! Bitch!"
Without noticing the blood continuously flowing from Liu You'er's eyes, dripping onto the ground like flowers of death.
"Bang"
Only a pool of blood remained where Liu Yue once stood, his body blown to pieces by the missile. His head rolled a few times on the ground, staring blankly in the direction of the base, his last thought being, "I can no longer protect my sister..."
In an instant, the dazzling flames, the smoke filling the sky, and the cheers of humanity seemed to vanish into thin air, leaving only Liu You'er and that solitary head on the ground.
Her memories had completely returned, past moments playing back like a movie, becoming incredibly clear at this moment.
She stood there in a daze, motionless, her face devoid of all expression, filled only with profound sorrow. The energy within her rapidly consumed the toxins, beginning to multiply, causing her body to feel as if it might burst from the energy.
But who cared? All she wanted now was to kill this group of scum!!! Even if it meant exploding her own body in the next second, she didn't care!
Liu You'er frantically absorbed the toxins, her Mental Power and energy expanding infinitely, causing the machine to emit a buzzing sound. The electromagnetic plates attached to her head exploded in response, and the chains on her body began to crack.
However, the cheers of humanity were too loud, drowning out this small noise.
Suddenly, something bumped against Li Lei's foot. He instinctively looked down and saw A Researcher's head torn off and rolling towards him, still smeared with bits of flesh from A Researcher's own neck. The glasses were shattered, and the expression was one of extreme terror, leaving a clear trail of blood on the ground.
He hurriedly looked in the direction from which the head was rolling and saw Liu You'er had broken free from her shackles. Her white hair floated without wind like a ghost. Her expression was numb to the extreme; smoke surrounded her, adding an aura of death. The wounds on her body were visibly healing at an alarming rate. Her dark red pupils were filled with lifelessness as if she had lost all hope. She spoke in a mechanical voice: "I want all of you to accompany me to the grave!"
