After the assistant reported the situation, she waited for a while but still did not hear any instructions from Wei Yuan. Looking up, she realized that he seemed not to have heard her at all, and she began to feel anxious.
Although this corrosive light shield was powerful, before the apocalypse, it required immense time and effort to operate, and there was insufficient energy. When Liu You'er heard Wei Yuan mention Liu Yue, the killing intent within her intensified. Gritting her teeth, she replied, “You have no right to mention him!”
Hearing her tone, Wei Yuan felt somewhat relieved. A playful voice came from the sparrow's belly, “Why are you so angry~ I just wanted to pass something along to you on his behalf~”
The bird opened its beak, and a reflective object fell out.
Liu You'er cautiously approached and discovered it was an exquisite little pendant resembling a small sun, but… it was covered in the dried blood of Liu Yue!
She slowly knelt down, trembling hands gently caressing the pendant. A faint smile appeared on her lips, yet her eyes were red and filled with sorrow, as if they were about to overflow.

Upon hearing his words, Liu You'er clenched her hands tightly, leaving a deep scratch on the ground.
He chuckled lightly and continued, “As for the reward~ it can only be his corpse~”
Liu You'er immediately looked up with resentment at the sparrow and then seemed to think of something. Her expression turned cold as she teleported to where Liu Yue had died, only to find that there was no corpse left; even the two zombies that had protected Liu Yue were gone!
“Damn it! Wei Yuan! I’ll personally dismantle you! I want to savor what your black heart tastes like!!!”
The White Current appeared, and the sparrow hovering above her immediately exploded. She released her control over the Advanced Zombie, and a dark red aura surrounded her.
At this moment, her power had reached Level Four. However, her body was still in a mid-Level Two state, and after days of torment, she could barely hold on; she was only still standing due to sheer willpower.
In the next second, she appeared before the astonished soldiers of C Zone. However, seeing that they still had some fight left in them and did not abandon their loved ones to flee, she ignored them and vanished again, heading towards the research institute.
With Level Four power, her maximum distance for Teleportation could reach three kilometers. Looking at the entrance of the research institute, a smile crept onto her lips as she kicked the reinforced glass door to shatters and walked inside, discovering that there was no one left. However, she didn't care where those people had gone; all she needed to know was that Wei Yuan was still here.
Another Teleportation, and she appeared in front of the door to the Control Room fifty meters underground. Wei Yuan was on the other side of the glass door, quietly leaning back in his chair, looking at himself with a lazy smile on his face, just as he had observed her before. His fingers rhythmically tapped on the table, producing a "thud, thud, thud" sound.
"Hey~ You’re not escaping?"
"Escape? Meeting you is far more interesting than running away~"
Liu You'er looked at his relaxed demeanor and indifferent tone, feeling like an idiot for wasting time talking to him.
She grabbed the door and yanked it hard; the entire door flew off its hinges and embedded itself deep into the wall. Wei Yuan exclaimed in surprise, "You look like... you've surpassed Third Level~ That's amazing~ But your condition... doesn’t seem too good."
Liu You'er wasn't in the mood for idle chatter. She rushed up to him, grabbed him by the throat, and lifted him off the ground. Watching his face slowly turn red and his brows furrow in pain maximized her sense of revenge, causing a hint of madness to appear in her eyes as she said fiercely, "How does it feel? Comfortable~"
Wei Yuan looked at Liu You'er with a terrifying expression and suddenly burst into laughter, tears streaming down his face as he struggled to speak. "This... fierce... look is exactly... how you should be...! Hahaha!"
Seeing him laugh like that made Liu You'er nearly explode with anger. The energy surging within her made her blood boil and caught in her throat.
But how could she let her enemy see her in such a state! She swallowed back the blood rising in her throat and tightened her grip until Wei Yuan could no longer speak and began rolling his eyes. Her mood eased slightly as her gaze suddenly shifted behind him.
Through the window, she saw where she had been tortured while restrained. A wicked idea formed in her mind as a sinister smile spread across her lips. She slammed Wei Yuan against the glass with all her might; it shattered instantly. Wei Yuan's head was bloodied as he lost consciousness.
When Wei Yuan opened his eyes again, he felt a splitting headache and blurred vision. Finally regaining focus, he saw Liu You'er standing before him with her arms crossed over her chest, leisurely enjoying herself. He glanced down at himself and realized he was only wearing underwear, tightly restrained and unable to move.
Liu You'er played with a syringe containing Zombie toxin in her hand, and she immediately knew what the other party intended to do.
Seeing him awake, Liu You'er looked like a child who had just received candy, happily saying, "Finally~ awake!"
Before he could respond, she injected the toxin into his body.
Pain swept through him like a storm; the agony of cellular erosion finally made him shut his mouth! He bit down hard, unable to scream, only able to emit sounds from his throat like "ugh, ugh."
Then, the energy generated by the toxin continuously expanded his body, growing larger and larger. Liu You'er watched as his body was about to turn into a ball, looking grotesque. Suddenly feeling a wave of emptiness, she lost the heart to look any longer and turned to leave. She heard Wei Yuan's voice echoing behind her like a wailing ghost: "We will meet again, haha..."
Before he finished laughing, there was a loud bang, and the smell of blood filled Liu You'er's nostrils.
Liu You'er paused for a second and muttered to herself, "It seems there’s no chance left~"

A mouthful of blood flowed from Liu You'er's mouth and nostrils. She stumbled and fell to her knees, but how could she allow herself to die at Wei Yuan's hands? To die at the hands of humans! Liu Yue had also sacrificed himself to save her...
She forced herself up and teleported to the ground, discovering that the protective barrier had disappeared. Gunfire echoed in Zone C; it seemed that humans and Zombies were fighting again...
She gave a self-deprecating smile and sadly thought: Humans and Zombies have become natural enemies, yet she foolishly hoped that she and Liu Yue could return to the past! She should go find Liu Yue...
