Rek felt as if his body was no longer under his control, yet he could still sense it.
He discovered that his body was currently being controlled by the War God System, lying on the ground and rapidly performing extremely standard sit-ups. The speed was astonishing; after completing three sets of one hundred, Rek noticed the flesh on his stomach starting to cramp and twitch on its own. His arms felt so sore and numb that they seemed like someone else's.
However, the War God System did not stop and began to control his body to do push-ups, squats, and high-knee runs, continuously performing these exercises at a high frequency.
Rek had the illusion that his bones were about to break. Although his body was controlled by the War God System, he could clearly feel the soreness and fatigue throughout his body; these sensations were not isolated by the system.
Looking at his clothes, which were completely soaked as if he had just been pulled out of water, Rek realized that after two hours of continuous exercise, the War God System finally stopped. He thought he was finally free.
"Alright, warm-up completed. Now we will officially begin the muscle tearing training method," the cold voice of the War God System echoed in Rek's mind as it started to twist his limbs and neck, forcing him to crawl on the ground.
"Ah! Stop! I'm about to break! I can't take it anymore!" Rek shouted at the War God System, but it remained unmoved and continued to force his body into training.
"When will this stop? If it doesn't stop soon, I'm going to die! My flexibility is already sufficient; please stop!" Rek cried out in pain.
"Your flexibility is far from enough. You won't be flexible enough until you can put your head between your legs! The first day of training is relatively easy to loosen up your muscles that haven't been exercised for a long time. Over the next fifteen days, the intensity will gradually increase. If you survive these fifteen days, you will feel your strength and flexibility improve by at least double. No need to thank me; this is what the System is supposed to do. It will assist you in becoming a war god," the cold voice of the War God System said as it continued to control Rek's body to walk on his hands.
"I can't take it anymore! Don't talk about fifteen days; if this continues, I'm going to drop dead right now! This is murder!" Rek yelled angrily at the War God System in his mind.
Now Rek finally understood why previous hosts of the War God System had such a high mortality rate; no normal person could withstand such torment from this demonic system.
"Rek, what are you doing making such a loud noise? I'm coming in," came a voice from outside as the door opened.
The Moon Goddess entered and was astonished by what she saw: Rek, the new doctor, was actually upside down with his feet tucked behind him, walking on his hands around the room at a surprisingly fast pace.
"Ha, what are you doing? Aren't you tired walking like that? Normal people walk on their feet," the Moon Goddess asked curiously.
"Well, I'm exercising. My body is quite weak. Don't ask so many questions. By the way, you have medicine for recovering muscle strength at your medical center, right? I need to soak in a medicinal bath after my workout. Please prepare a large tub of medicine for me," Rek said, enduring the pain as sweat dripped down, speaking to the Moon Goddess with a trembling voice.
"We do have medicine for muscle recovery, but it requires money. We have those medicines stocked at Hua Tuo Medical Center," the Moon Goddess said somewhat awkwardly to Rek.
"I have plenty of silver coins in my pocket. Just go ahead and prepare the medicinal bath for me," Rek told the Moon Goddess.
"But I haven't graduated yet; I can't prepare medicine alone. How about I go find my grandfather? He's taking a nap right now; I'll go wake him up."
"There's no need to rush. Just prepare the medicinal bath quickly. It's fine; I'm also a doctor, and I've graduated. Just tell me the names and dosages of the medicines, and if I understand them, you can go get them," Rek urged, thinking that having his ideal goddess prepare his bath would feel much better.
The Moon Goddess listed a bunch of medicine names.
"Alright, no problem. Hurry up and get it done," Rek said.
The Moon Goddess didn't leave immediately; instead, she walked over to Rek, who was doing handstands on the ground, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a few silver coins. "Is this what you call a lot of silver? This is barely enough," she said after glancing at Rek before closing the door and leaving.
"Ah!" Not long after the Moon Goddess left, Rek began to cough up blood.
"System, I'm coughing up blood! Stop it now; I think I'm going to die! My head feels so dizzy," Rek shouted at the War God System in his mind.
"Don't worry; coughing up blood is just a temporary result of overexertion; your internal organs have taken some damage. I'm monitoring your blood; I'll stop before you reach the brink of death. I'll give you some electric shock therapy so you won't feel dizzy anymore."
"Ah!" Rek felt a tingling sensation all over his body as if he had suddenly connected to high voltage electricity; his heart raced so fast it felt like it was about to burst from his chest.
Rek regained consciousness, but felt even more pain throughout his body, coughing up blood more violently. After being shocked once, Rek no longer dared to complain about feeling dizzy.
Finally, after being trained by the War God System for half an hour, Rek completely lost consciousness. The War God System tried to shock Rek twice but failed to wake him up, and then stopped controlling Rek's body.
Rek collapsed directly onto the ground, his hands propped up, his head resting against the Ground, and his legs stretched out awkwardly.
After preparing the medicinal bath seriously, Moon Goddess noticed that Rek had not yet recovered and went to check on him in his small hut.
Upon opening the door, Moon Goddess saw blood all over the floor and Rek, who was lying unconscious with blood at the corners of his mouth. She quickly rushed over to check Rek's pulse, which was very weak; if she didn't act quickly, he would die.
Moon Goddess realized that even calling her grandfather now would be too late.
She recalled this morning when her grandfather asked Rek what it meant to be a healer. Rek, as an outsider, had answered, "Whether one can be saved or if it's worth saving."
When Rek said this earlier, Moon Goddess hadn't felt anything unusual. In fact, when she heard Rek's answer, her grandfather Hua Tuo, who usually squinted his eyes, had widened them in surprise.
Now, Moon Goddess vaguely understood the meaning of those words. She murmured to herself, "Whether one can be saved or if it's worth saving," while images of Rek giving her roasted sweet potatoes and taking away his broken silver flashed through her mind. Ultimately, it seemed like she had made a significant decision; she took out a small cloth pouch from a hidden pocket in her clothing.
With practiced ease, Moon Goddess opened the small pouch, revealing dozens of silver needles of varying lengths neatly arranged on the cloth.
At this moment, her expression was serious as she held the silver needles in both hands and quickly inserted them into various acupuncture points and hidden meridians on Rek's body. Each needle was inserted with different depths and twisting forces according to the specific acupuncture point.
