One minute remains until Earth is struck by the Ultimate Weapon.
The Angel Sisters had previously aimed all the excess observation devices on the Pioneer at their home planet, Earth.
In the Control Room of the Pioneer, a virtual display projected a three-dimensional image of Earth.
Sister Makoxin and Sister Maria watched as Rek sat in the control chair, his expression resolute.
"Is this a joke? I can't believe it! What has happened to our home planet?
Quick, Light Brain, enlarge the photos taken of Earth and contact the Glorious Empire's main control center." Sister Maria was about to mock Rek when she saw the virtual display showing Earth glowing with dazzling light.
In an instant, it was as if small fireworks were continuously exploding on Earth.
These explosions did not cease; the enlarged image of Earth displayed by the Light Brain showed hundreds of scenes depicting melting glaciers, erupting underwater volcanoes, and the Ground launch pads continuously firing ultimate missiles. Various biochemical and destructive missiles soared into the sky and fell across the globe.
The explosion scenes continued for over an hour, with towering waves rising to engulf coastal lands while inland continents cracked open, and magma surged from underground.
As heavy chaotic energy ions began to swirl on the Ground, the Pioneer Ship could no longer capture clear images of Earth's surface; it could only photograph a version of Earth shrouded in black smoke from space.
"What on earth is happening? Didn't the Glorious Empire and Star Alliance Federation form an alliance? Wasn't there a ceasefire? And what about other organizations? How could they unleash all their Doomsday Weapons? This can't be real!" Sister Maria said with a voice tinged with tears, repeatedly reviewing the scenes captured by the Pioneer of Earth being destroyed by the two empires' Ultimate Weapons.
"Pioneer Intelligence, analyze the detection images. Which country launched its Ultimate Weapons first against Earth: the Glorious Empire or the Star Alliance Federation? Assess whether any continents or cities on Earth survived after being struck by these Ultimate Weapons. Project the future situation for our home planet," Sister Makoxin commanded as she stood up, her eyes filled with a deadly glare as she looked at the display.
"Preliminary analysis indicates that one hour, twenty-six minutes, and three seconds ago, the Glorious Empire initiated an attack on Star Alliance using all its ultimate missiles.
Within one minute of launching its Ultimate Weapons, after failing to intercept with counter-missiles, the Star Alliance Federation retaliated with all its ultimate missiles.
No major city on Earth has survived; it is estimated that under an hour of bombardment from Ultimate Weapons mixed with biochemical missiles, the probability of survival for humanity on Earth is less than one in a thousand.
The numerous explosions of the Doomsday Weapon have caused the glaciers on Earth to melt, leading to an increase in radiation and toxic substances, triggering a chain reaction. The two magnetic fields are reversing, and a special mixed energy black cloud will completely envelop the Earth within two months.
Preliminary assessments indicate that the Earth's environment will regress to a cold Ice Age-like state, or even worse. The mechanical voice of the Pioneer’s Light Brain echoed this, listing a plethora of data.
Listening nearby, Rek felt relieved. Through the mission description, it was clear that this Doomsday Weapon strike should be attributed to the Star Alliance.
The Star Alliance secretly activated the Seismic Weapon targeting the underground crust of the Glorious Empire, aiming to destroy it in one fell swoop.
However, it is estimated that the activation was likely detected by the Glorious Empire, which launched all its destructive missiles in retaliation against the Star Alliance.
Fortunately, the Pioneer Ship only detected missile attacks on the Earth's surface and did not uncover that the Star Alliance had initiated a secret weapon—the crustal magnetic field bomb—underground first.
As a result, the destruction of Earth can be blamed on the Glorious Empire, allowing Rek to hold his head high aboard the Pioneer ship.
The Angel Sisters, Makshin and Maria, listened in disbelief to the analysis report from Pioneer’s Light Brain.
The two sisters frantically flipped through videos captured at the onset of Earth's destruction.
The footage revealed that it was indeed the Glorious Empire that first launched the Ultimate Weapon, showcasing several hidden biochemical missile launch sites that the Angel Sisters had seen before.
"This can't be true! How could our empire possibly have initiated the Ultimate Weapon first? It's impossible!
I need to contact the command center of Earth’s Glorious Empire to get clarification! Our home planet cannot just be destroyed like this!" Sister Maria cried out, attempting to reach out to Earth's command center. But there was no response; all she received was a static busy signal from the communicator.
"Our home planet has been destroyed; what significance does our Pioneer exploration hold now? We, the Glorious Empire, are actually the source of Earth's destruction! My once proud and noble heritage now fills me with sorrow and shame," Sister Maria said, her previously proud demeanor as Queen fading away under this immense blow, revealing a trembling figure of despair.
Suddenly, two large hands appeared on their shoulders.
Rek patted both sisters on their shoulders. "The destruction of our home planet has become a fact; investigating whose fault it is now holds no meaning. The existence of Pioneer still has its value.
Don't forget that aboard Pioneer are numerous plant and animal genes. As long as we reach a planet suitable for human survival, we can ensure humanity's continuation."
Perhaps the higher-ups of the Glorious Empire and the Star Alliance Federation had long anticipated that the planet would be destroyed in their great war, which is why they had placed numerous biological genes on the Pioneer in advance, allowing it to take flight.
This gave humanity a glimmer of hope for continuity in the universe. Rek solemnly comforted the two angel sisters.
The War God System mission in Rek's mind required him to witness the destruction of Earth and survive for a month afterward to complete it.
With a month left to spend on this Pioneer Ship to fulfill his mission, Rek did not want the angel sisters to feel excessive guilt and sorrow, which could ultimately lead to triggering the destruction of the Pioneer—he would regret it too late.
"Thank you, Rek!" Sister Makoxin rarely expressed her gratitude.
"I can't believe this is real; it's all a lie! Wuwu!" Sister Maria, on the side, had already collapsed onto the control panel, crying uncontrollably.
The following three days on the Pioneer Ship passed quite peacefully.
The destruction of their home planet Earth by the Ultimate Weapon had dramatically changed the attitudes and emotions of the two sisters; Sister Maria seemed to have matured significantly overnight.
Rek lay in his small sleeping bag, thinking that staying calm until the end of his mission would be quite nice.
However, he was pulled out of his sleeping bag by Maria and called into the Control Room of the Pioneer.
