“Rek! Do you choose to go with me or with my sister? Haven't you always wanted me to say that we should have kids? Come with me, and once I establish a paradise, I promise you we can have kids together!” Sister Maria pulled Rek back into the Control Room and said seriously.
Rek was left puzzled.
“Lia! I didn't expect you to use that tactic; you're truly my good sister! It's not like you're the only one who can have kids. Rek, come with me through the wormhole to explore the planet suitable for human habitation discovered by the probe.
I promise you, once we reach the new planet and finish spreading Earth's plant and animal genes, I can fulfill the promise I made to you as well,” Sister Makoxin said proudly to Rek.
Three days had passed since then, and the first-generation fusion entity Angel Gene Makshin had emerged from the shadow of her home planet's destruction, regaining her former proud Queen demeanor.
“What are you two talking about? Don't just come here and make me choose who to go with! Explain everything clearly first,” Rek shouted while tapping on the control panel.
Rek had a bad feeling; judging by the situation, it seemed these two Angel Sisters were not in agreement, and trouble was likely brewing again.
“I'll explain!” Sister Makshin stepped forward and spoke: “Right now, Earth is being covered by chaotic energies such as brutal radiation and Biochemical Weapons.
The number of survivors on Earth is rapidly decreasing, and the existing evolutionary devices on Earth must have been damaged by the previous Doomsday Weapon strikes.
Without external help, survivors won't survive the upcoming Glacial Virus period.
The Pioneer was originally designed with a disassembly mode to face unknown space crises.
Once disassembled, it can split into two smaller Pioneer Ships, each retaining all the functions of the original ship.”
As a member of humanity, I am prepared to pilot half of the Pioneer back to Earth.
On the Pioneer, there are two of Earth's most advanced radiation absorption and filtration devices, designed to spread seeds on alien planets.
Once I return to Earth, I can use this device to evolve a small piece of pure land and gather survivors.
Even if there are no survivors, the plant and animal genes carried on the ship can create a new human civilization on Earth.
Now I need your help, Rek. After all, Earth is our home; it is our mother planet."
"What a ridiculous idea. Earth's energy has nearly depleted. Even if you successfully establish a civilization upon your return, it will only allow humanity to live in a low-civilization era.
Come with me, Rek. We should continue executing the original plan. The other half of the Pioneer will pass through the wormhole to the New Planet discovered by the probe, allowing human life to continue in the universe and evolve into a higher civilization," Sister Makoxin said proudly.
Hearing the words of the two sisters, Rek felt overwhelmed!
Looking at their determined expressions, it was clear they had argued several times while he was away. His attempts to persuade them would be futile; the separation of the Pioneer into two small ships was inevitable.
Faced with two choices, Rek began to consider whether to follow his sister or his younger sister, weighing which option would allow him to survive safely until the mission's end, as there were only about twenty days left.
Given the situation, going with Sister Makoxin through the wormhole to create humanity on New Planet seemed relatively safer.
Just as Rek was about to choose to go with Sister Makoxin, he heard a voice from the War God System in his mind.
"Host, a friendly reminder: The System previously absorbed the special energy crystal from the Pioneer. Based on the current energy of the Pioneer, it can barely reach the coordinates of New Planet."
But three days ago, Host suggested that the spaceship, after being heavily damaged by the Doomsday Weapon, should break free from its orbit around Earth, which consumed some energy.
The Pioneer currently has insufficient energy to reach the New Planet at the specified Coordinate.
Moreover, after the disintegration of the Pioneer, it is estimated that the remaining energy will need to be evenly distributed. The energy available after distribution will only allow the Pioneer Ship to operate in Defensive Shield mode for ten days while traveling through the wormhole, and it won't be able to exit the wormhole as planned.
"Wow! System, why didn't you say this earlier! Are you trying to get me killed?" Rek angrily questioned the War God System in his mind.
"Host felt that being close to Earth was unsafe and insisted on activating the spaceship's anti-gravity device early, which led to energy consumption by the Pioneer.
Furthermore, after System absorbs the special energy crystals from the Pioneer, it will distribute them in four layers for Host to use with the Permanent Clone Technique," said the War God System irresponsibly.
"You—" Rek was somewhat speechless.
"Rek, have you made up your mind? In one hour, the Pioneer will enter the wormhole, and the spaceship must disintegrate within half an hour.
You cannot turn back in the wormhole; returning would consume too much energy.
The energy currently on the Pioneer is very precious. I want to reserve it to create a sanctuary on Earth," urged Sister Maria.
Rek closed his eyes and thought seriously for about five minutes.
If he were to enter the wormhole with Sister Makoxin, under conditions of insufficient energy, flying for ten days without the protection of a Defensive Shield would truly be a matter of life and death, especially since there were still over twenty days left for their mission.
On the other hand, returning with his sister to Earth, which had been devastated by the Ultimate Weapon, although the environment there was also harsh now, he only needed to survive for more than twenty days until the mission concluded. That seemed much safer for him.
"Maria, I choose to return to Earth with you.
Earth is my home planet, and if I have the opportunity to help rebuild it, I am willing to contribute," Rek said sincerely as he opened his eyes to the Angel Sisters.
"That's great, Rek!" Sister Maria exclaimed, jumping up in excitement.
"I respect your choice. For the remaining time, we will immediately separate the energy and the genetic material of the flora and fauna on Pioneer.
All energy sources, as well as the genetic material and equipment, will be divided equally.
Sister, I wish you and Rek the best in establishing a new home on Earth. If you succeed, remember not to let humanity exploit Earth's resources recklessly again," Sister Makoxin, resembling a queen, said.
Afterward, Rek watched as the Angel Sisters embraced each other for several seconds.
Once they separated, they quickly began to divide the materials and energy aboard the Pioneer.
Rek followed them and saw that they eventually went to the energy room.
They shut down the energy network in the Control Room and divided the more than ten fake special energy crystals that had been replaced by the War God System before reinstalling them into their respective energy Controllers on the small Pioneer that was about to disassemble.
"Fortunately, we weren't discovered!" Rek felt a bit anxious as he followed along, finally relieved when he confirmed that the War God System's deception had not left any traces.
