Maria had a judgment in her heart that she didn't want to think about.
"Big sister, it turns out you shamelessly swapped the Special Energy Crystal behind my back.
You did this so that you could have enough energy on the newly discovered planet, and you made me suffer like this. The activation code for the special energy defense device is known only to you and me. When the Pioneer was about to split apart, all the special energy crystals you gave me were fake."
At this moment, Maria felt like her whole world was about to collapse. The feeling of being betrayed by the person she trusted the most was unbearable.
"Light Brain, stop the purification process and retain the current energy," Maria commanded Light Brain.
"Warning, once Purification Mode is activated, it will take at least thirty minutes to completely stop. The spacecraft will run out of energy in seven minutes and ten seconds. It is advised that astronauts immediately enter the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber for hibernation. Warning--" Light Brain on the Pioneer repeatedly announced.
"Rek, I’ve put you in danger! I never expected my trusted sister would do something like this!" Maria cried as she looked at Rek. The pain of betrayal by someone so close made her feel more sorrowful than when she learned about the destruction of Earth.
Maria grabbed Rek and ran towards the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber.
Upon reaching the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber, Maria was stunned to find that there was only one Cryogenic Isolation Chamber.
Initially, there were only two Cryogenic Isolation Chambers on the Pioneer. When the Pioneer Ship was designed, it was anticipated that there would be only one male and one female astronaut.
However, the Glorious Empire sent two female pilots from the Angel Sisters, making a total of three with Rek.
During the disintegration of the Pioneer in space, one of the Cryogenic Isolation Chambers was taken away by Sister Makoxin from the front section of the ship.
"Rek, you should enter the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber. We have failed.
I’ve put you in danger; it’s all my fault. You warned me before to be fully prepared before activating Purification Mode.
But I rushed it and didn’t check the energy reserves again," Maria said weakly to Rek, then pressed against the heavy metal door of the cryogenic isolation chamber.
The Cryogenic Isolation Chamber resembled a large upright coffin, with a section made of an unknown transparent material corresponding to the face area.
Rek looked at the countdown timer for his War God System mission, which had only one minute left before he would leave this task.
There was no need to waste the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber; he might as well leave it as a good deed for the poor girl, Maria.
After all, he had tricked her too many times along the way, luring her back from the universe to a doomsday-like Earth and ruining her dream of a pure land.
"Maria, I'm giving you my soldier tag. Don't forget me," Rek said as he quickly removed the Star Alliance Soldier Tag bearing his name, which he had received from his school homeroom teacher when he first arrived in this mission world.
Maria instinctively reached out to take the tag.
Rek kicked, sending the unsuspecting Maria directly into the cold metallic chamber that resembled a coffin.
Then Rek closed the lid of the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber and activated the freezing isolation procedure from the outside.
"Bang bang bang!" Inside the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber, Maria realized Rek's intentions.
He had left her with the only chance to survive.
Maria frantically pounded on the heavy metal door of the now-closed chamber, but as the cold air was released, she felt her strength waning.
"Why? The one who should die is me! Rek, I haven't even given you any children yet!" Maria cried in anguish inside the chamber, putting on the soldier tag with Rek's name around her neck. She thought about their playful banter along the way and how her sister had deceitfully stolen their only special energy crystal.
Maria was frozen in tears.
Sister Maria, with her First Generation Angel Gene Fusion Body, fell into slumber within the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber.
Ten days ago, Sister Makoxin piloted the other half of the Pioneer ship after its disassembly, and upon entering a wormhole, she encountered a similar situation of energy depletion.
Discovering that the energy in the ship's energy chamber had been tampered with, Sister Makoxin began to laugh coldly inside the Pioneer ship.
Makshin then took only the bottle containing Angel Gene from the ship and walked into the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber.
"Maria, my dear sister, and Rek, I swear, if I survive, one day I will return to Earth with the Angel Legion to take revenge for today!" After solemnly making this vow, Sister Makoxin activated the hibernation program of the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber.
A few minutes later, the remaining half of the Pioneer ship disintegrated in the wormhole as the Defensive Shield vanished.
A metal Cryogenic Isolation Chamber floated aimlessly out from the wreckage of the Pioneer ship, drifting within the wormhole.
Although the metal of the Cryogenic Isolation Chamber was highly protective, it could still be destroyed if it encountered a special energy vortex within the wormhole. An unknown future awaited Makshin.
----
A flash of white light passed by, and Rek heard a "ding-dong" sound in his mind indicating that the mission was complete.
Rek's body was drawn into it.
Shortly after Rek's body disappeared, half of the Pioneer on this parallel Earth also ceased operation due to energy depletion. The ship's external defensive isolation facilities shut down, causing the external metal of the Pioneer Ship to crumble and exposing its internal systems directly to toxic and radioactive environments, which rapidly corroded them. The numerous gene storage containers carrying various Earth organisms were not spared either.
Moreover, the radiation levels and toxic gases in this nearby area became astonishingly high because of the converter launched by Pioneer that had continuously absorbed without purifying for eighteen days.

Rek woke up to find himself lying on a large bed in a hotel, back in his original world; it was nighttime.
Rek looked at his Wrist Communicator, which displayed that it was still the night he received his mission to go to the parallel world: Humanity's Destruction Sequence.
Rek quickly sensed the level of Genetic Mech within, relieved to find that it had upgraded to the rank of Corporal in the parallel world.
"Ding dong, congratulations Host on completing the survival prologue mission after the human extinction.
Does Host now understand that the disaster facing humanity is not directly related to the Dark Space Alien? After experiencing this ninety-day mission in the parallel world, does Host still feel confused?
If Host remains confused, System will continue to assign similar missions to Host." The voice of the War God System, sounding like grinding teeth, echoed in Rek's mind.
"I'm not confused at all! Anyone who is confused is a fool! War God System, where's my Reward? You promised me a Reward for completing the mission! I worked my ass off for ninety days to finish this parallel world mission, so hurry up and give me my Reward!" Rek exclaimed.
"Scanning Host's performance in the parallel world for evaluation.
Mission comprehensive completion rating: A+,
Host's combat performance rating in the mission world: B-,
Acquisition of Parallel Space energy rating: S,
Warm reminder: The parallel world truly exists and is not a fictional space.
Reward: One chance to draw an A-level item for Host." The voice of the War God System resonated in Rek's mind.
