Alice and Rek can both run while doing handstands. Rek supports his body with his hands as he runs, and he can even bounce while doing so, exuding a sense of power.
Next to him, Alice is also running on her hands, but she appears more coordinated, lacking the sense of strength. Instead, she has an eerie floating quality, as if her hands were meant for walking while her legs above are meant for grasping things.
On the playground in the afternoon, other new students and teachers training in different classes were amazed to see the two from Special Class Two running on their hands.
"Look, look at what I see! Students from Special Class Two are actually running on their hands!"
"Oh my gosh, they are faster than me! Their hands are quicker than my legs!" exclaimed a new student who was also jogging around the track.
"Is it true that after human evolution, hands should be used for walking?"
"Pay attention to your formation, you bunch of slackers! Look at Special Class Two; they climb faster on their hands than you run! You all need to increase your training and run three more laps," shouted a teacher from Regular Classes to his students.
Watching Rek and Alice run on their hands, most students and teachers on the Metal Playground found it quite amusing.
However, one teacher from a certain class felt differently.
About twenty meters away from Maya on the Metal Playground, Orland, the handsome uncle training Special Class One, glared fiercely at Rek and Alice as they ran on their hands.
He had overheard the earlier confrontation between Rek and Maya.
Orland, the homeroom teacher of Special Class One, had been captivated by Maya since she first arrived at Super Soldier Academy as an intern over a year ago. He had been pursuing her for more than a year but had always been met with her cold demeanor.
He had previously listened to other teachers' advice and tried giving Maya gifts, even purchasing a gemstone necklace specifically for her. Unfortunately, Maya didn't even glance at it, let alone accept it.
Finally this year, through connections, Orland managed to be assigned to the same year group as Maya to teach Freshmen; he taught Special Class One while Maya taught Special Class Two.
Orland's intention was simply to have more opportunities to interact with Maya.
During the Opening Ceremony, Orland had already taken a dislike to Rek and wished he could chop him into pieces with a long knife. However, since the Yin Yang Principal was present at that time, he had no choice but to endure this audacious behavior from Rek, who dared to flirt with the woman he admired.
In Orland's mind, he believed that over the next four years of co-teaching with Maya, she would gradually come closer to him and eventually become his woman.
His woman, Orland, does not allow others to desecrate her.
The homeroom teacher of Special Class One began calling five students from his class to the front.
"All of you are from Special Class One. That new student named Rek is simply embarrassing us in Special Class.
You all go find Rek from Special Class Two for a match later. Don't let him be so arrogant. Whoever can incapacitate him will be rewarded with a Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation and a usable Cold Weapons auxiliary weapon." The homeroom teacher, Cang Sang Handsome Uncle, started inciting his students to beat up Rek.
Hearing about the reward of a Cold Weapons auxiliary weapon after the Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation, the three awakened students and two challenged students from Special Class One brightened up.
The auxiliary weapons for Genetic Mechs are divided into Cold Weapons and Hot Weapons, including special materials like Metal Blades, Small Floating Cannon Platforms, and Reconnaissance Drones. Their prices are quite expensive; even in the Star Alliance Military, they are not standard equipment and are rarely sold externally. Most are exchanged for military merits or contribution points at the Military Supply Office.
After the Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation, having an additional auxiliary weapon could potentially save lives during missions in Dark Space. Even showing it off casually would elevate one's status.
For new recruits who have just acquired their Genetic Mechs, obtaining an auxiliary weapon is their most desired reward.
The five students from Special Class One began to gather together to discuss.
Rek and Alice completed a lap upside down and quickly returned to Class Teacher Muya, both reverting to their normal standing positions.
"Maya, we have successfully completed your training requirements. Please give us further instructions," said Golden-Haired Alice in a sweet voice.
At this moment, Maya sadly realized that she had been deceived by Alice's cute appearance.
Alice was just as much of a troublemaker as Rek; this year she had only taken in two students, both of whom were problematic and difficult to manage.
"I see that Master Muya is silent for a reason. We have completed the military training task assigned by Master Muya, so we can go back and rest this afternoon," Rek said as he turned to leave right after finishing his sentence.
Alice was also preparing to sneak away.
"Rek, stop!"
Before Maya could speak, five students from Special Class One approached quickly and blocked Rek's path, looking at him with ill intentions.
"Ah!" Rek looked at the five new students, confused, and then glanced over at the old man, the Head Teacher of Class One, who was glaring at him fiercely.
"What do you want? Do you want me, Rek, to teach you how to walk on your hands? Or are you preparing to challenge our Special Class Two?" Rek asked nonchalantly as he was surrounded.
"Don't be arrogant, Rek. Freshman year isn't just your Special Class Two's domain. We want to spar a bit; as fellow Special Class students, we want to see the strength of Special Class Two and broaden your horizons," one of the new students who had withstood three minutes against the Class One Homeroom Teacher during the Opening Ceremony said boldly to Rek.
Maya, who had been angry about Rek and Alice's disobedience, felt her expression turn cold upon seeing her student surrounded by students from other classes. Hearing that Special Class Two was being challenged made Maya grip her sword tightly; she was furious.
After all, Maya aspired to be a savior and could not stand seeing her class being bullied.
Seeing Master Muya approach, the five new students surrounding Rek began to feel a bit scared; after all, Maya had a fearsome reputation.
"Do you Special Class One students want to challenge us Special Class Two?" Maya's cold voice rang out.
The Head Teacher of Class One, Cang Sang Handsome Uncle, who had been watching from a distance, thought this was bad news.
Maya was known in the academy for being protective and valuing her reputation. These foolish students couldn't even find an excuse to challenge Rek; they should just pick a fight instead of escalating it into a class battle by claiming they were challenging Special Class Two.
There was no choice; Orland, the Head Teacher of Class One, hurried over with his big sword in hand and said with a teasing tone, "Isn't it just the beginning of the school year? As fellow Special Class students, it's good for us to get to know each other so we can work together on missions in the future. This isn't a formal class challenge; it's just a casual spar. Let's just have some fun."
Hearing Orland's words, Maya relaxed her grip on the sword hilt slightly.
