Alice paused for a moment, as if recalling the scene of the explosion, then continued, "In the subsequent cycles, I tried to find a way to destroy the self-destruct program.
Unfortunately, it was impossible; I couldn't do it. The self-destruct program was created alongside the initial template of the High-Fidelity Robot.
To uninstall it from newly produced High-Fidelity Robots would require removing all existing settings and reprogramming them from scratch.
However, when I attempted to create robots that way, they had very little intelligence. To create robots with self-combat awareness that I could control would require programming technology that was far beyond my capabilities.
With that time, I decided it was better to practice martial arts more and improve my own strength to survive.
As for the robots that had already been produced, it was even harder to remove the self-destruct program from their minds."
Rek listened and asked again, "You've gone through so many cycles and haven't found a single method to individually uninstall or destroy the self-destruct program in the High-Fidelity Robots?"
Alice replied, "It's not that there isn't a method; it's just that I can't mass-produce High-Fidelity Robots under my control. You've been to the Ancient Capital, so you should know about the Moon Goddess you got from the Hua Tuo Medical Center.
Let me tell you, in fact, the first High-Fidelity Robot with self-awareness in the Ancient Capital wasn't the Moon Goddess but her grandfather, Hua Tuo.
This batch of medical robots was set up with learning capabilities. Once Hua Tuo was designated as a healer, his profession has never changed since then."
Alice paused for a moment to take a sip of water before continuing, "Because there are also tourists in the Ancient Capital, encountering minor injuries and fractures is inevitable in a tourist city.
The technological medical practices outside the Ancient Capital were not easily accessible there; using technological methods to treat injuries would alter the experience for visitors.
So initially, the Ancient Capital Research Institute inputted a wealth of Ancient Medicine knowledge into Hua Tuo so he could learn on his own.
Over the years, as Hua Tuo's medical skills improved, he should have long possessed self-awareness and understood what was happening within his body. Although the Ancient Capital Research Institute currently doesn't have any special version of Hua Tuo, they tried replacing him with another High-Fidelity Robot as a healer.
However, they found that the efficiency of this new healer in treating sick tourists was too low. When tourists fell ill or were injured, the new High-Fidelity Robot healer lacked timely medical skills. So they replaced him back with Hua Tuo and later assigned him an assistant named Moon Goddess."
"Are you saying that Hua Tuo also possesses self-awareness and has had it for much longer than Moon Goddess?"
The old man, Hua Tuo, had long known the truth about himself being a High-Fidelity Robot. He had a way to treat the Moon Goddess, and I need to find Hua Tuo! "Have you ever tried looking for Hua Tuo before?" Rek asked again.
"If you hadn't appeared in this life, I was already prepared to seek out Hua Tuo. Who knew I would encounter you, the biggest variable, causing the War God System to no longer possess me?
Without the constraints of the War God System, I no longer need to establish a Robot Legion. Whether or not I find Hua Tuo has become less significant for me.
I didn't go to the Ancient Capital; as you can see, I was looking for the Victorious Monkey. Comparatively, the Victorious Monkey is more helpful for me now that I don't have the War God System," Alice said with a smile.
"I understand. I'll first check the results for the Moon Goddess. If she can't deactivate the self-destruct program in her mind, then I'll have a chance to seek out Hua Tuo," Rek said.
Rek also felt somewhat skeptical about Alice's words; what she said was probably seven parts true and three parts false at best.
However, Rek recalled his interaction with the old healer Hua Tuo in the Ancient Capital. At that time, he was too focused on the Moon Goddess's situation and didn't pay much attention to Hua Tuo.
Thinking back now, that old healer Hua Tuo should be quite extraordinary because he acted too normally; perhaps Hua Tuo truly is a breakthrough point.
"Heh heh, don't fantasize about the current Moon Goddess being able to use her own medical skills to deactivate the self-destruct program in her mind.
That program is not simple. If it could be easily accessed, I would have already started assembling a Robot Legion in my previous lives.
Unless we give the Moon Goddess another thirty to fifty years to deepen her medical knowledge, otherwise, regarding the self-destruct setting she originally possessed, a robot with normal self-awareness cannot deactivate it. That self-destruct program is like the Heart organ that humans are born with; it's not something that can be easily removed," Alice told Rek.
"Well. If I can go find Hua Tuo, will you accompany me? Let's go to the Ancient Capital together," Rek tentatively asked Alice in front of him.
"Go to the Ancient Capital? Don't think too far ahead; that's at least a year away.
The Super Soldier Academy has only been ten days since we left Sanctuary Base. We can only wait until next year when we return to Sanctuary Base from Super Soldier Academy Fortress during our vacation to go back to the Ancient Capital.
If I'm free then, I can go with you. As for direction! As long as the Moon Goddess doesn't act too unusually, she is safe in Dark Space. The Ancient Capital and their backers, Lanstor Foundation, have not yet infiltrated Dark Space," Alice said playfully.
"That's true! Enough thinking about it; time to sleep," Rek casually remarked as he lay back down on his bed and closed his eyes.
However, in Rek's heart, he had not given up on the idea of going to the Ancient Capital. His assistant, Moon Goddess, had a program in her mind that could be controlled by others to self-destruct. Although the risk of it being activated was low, Rek still felt uneasy.
Listening to Alice, Rek always felt that the Ancient Capital was dangerous and not as simple as Alice said.
"Am I developing obsessive-compulsive disorder? I shouldn't be!" Rek thought to himself, recalling that he had previously received a reward from a War God System mission: the Bidirectional Space Gate Card.
Rek looked again at the detailed description of the Bidirectional Space Gate Card.
"Bidirectional Space Gate Card: Using this card allows you to open a forward space gate to a location that the Host has previously reached.
You can choose to stay permanently through the forward space gate, giving up the option to open a reverse space gate. Alternatively, you can choose to open a reverse space gate within twelve hours to return.
Friendly reminder: The location opened by the space gate must be one that the Host has visited after obtaining the War God System; it does not include Mission Space or virtual spaces."
Rek thought that in a few days, he would have a chance to talk with Moon Goddess. If she really couldn't resolve the self-destruct program in her mind, he would use this Bidirectional Space Gate Card himself.
He had been to the Ancient Capital before; although it was in the Main World, he was currently in Dark Space. The Main World did not belong to Mission Space or virtual spaces, so he could open a bidirectional space gate. He planned to find Hua Tuo, that old healer, to see if there was a way to set Moon Goddess completely free.
After figuring out how to handle Moon Goddess's situation, Rek closed his eyes and soon fell asleep.
