Maya thought for a moment after listening and agreed to Rek's request. She wrote a simple application for outdoor training and sent it through Rek's Wrist Communicator.
Maya repeatedly reminded Rek through the communicator that if he noticed anything unusual or potentially dangerous outside the Fortress, he should return immediately and send out a distress signal without worrying about losing face. He must not stray more than a hundred meters from the Fortress.
"Okay, got it, don't worry!" Rek replied vaguely, not wanting to waste any more time with Maya.
Rek controlled his Genetic Mech hand to make the part covering the Wrist Communicator transparent.
He turned and walked to the exit of the Metal Passage, flashing the Wrist Communicator at the soldier who had just stopped him.
The soldier took a small reader and scanned Rek's Wrist Communicator to retrieve the information from the outdoor training application.
"Special Class Two Rek, you need to pay attention. You must first collect protective gear before you can leave the Fortress.
According to your identity information, your Genetic Mech does not yet have the capability to evolve against the toxic gases and radiation in Dark Space.
It's dangerous out there. Don't joke with your life.
If you go out like this without the Fortress's Defensive Shield protection, you'll be killed by radiation," the soldier droned on at Rek.
Rek knew that the soldier meant well, but after absorbing the energy from Dark Gold Ant Corpses in the mines, his Genetic Mech had already upgraded its filtering system.
Now, Rek's Genetic Mech had evolved to withstand normal levels of radiation and toxic gases in Dark Space; he just hadn't reported it yet.
"Got it. Where can I get the protective gear?" Rek asked aloud.
The soldier guarding the Metal Passage exit pointed to a door on the right side leading to a Small Warehouse.
Rek quickly walked over, entered the Small Warehouse, and after showing his mission application record on his left wrist again, he received a fitted set of protective gear and a small Accelerator from the staff inside. Rek skillfully put them on.
Dressed in protective gear, Rek stepped out of the Fortress Metal Passage without any soldiers obstructing him this time.
Inside the Metal Passage, Rek first passed through a Synthetic Glass Door and entered a Sterilization Isolation Scanning Passage. After the metal door closed, the external metal door of the sterilization isolation passage opened, and Rek quickly walked out.
Rek activated his thrusters and flew out from the Metal Passage, his body appearing in the Dark Space environment as he jumped down from the moving massive Super Soldier Academy Fortress.
At this moment, Rek's Genetic Mech had already scanned three red dots beneath the Super Warrior Academy Fortress based on the special biological frequency he provided.
The three red dots were moving in the Sand along with the Fortress. The positions of the three red dots were separate; Rek determined through comparison that two red dots were located directly beneath the Second District Training Ground in the Sand, while one was directly beneath the medical room.
Rek transformed his Genetic Mech into a closed form, with his right hand becoming a drill-like biological structure.
Rek quickly burrowed into the Sand, and his protective suit was damaged due to the transformation of the Genetic Mech. Fortunately, at this moment, Rek's Genetic Mech was capable of withstanding the radiation and toxic gases of Dark Space.
The Genetic Mech could transform into various forms according to the Host's needs, allowing the Genetic Mecha Warrior to survive and maintain combat capability in various harsh environments. This symbiotic biological mech was incredibly powerful, and Rek had already mastered its usage in his Previous Life.
With the help of the Genetic Mech, Rek rapidly burrowed underground. His mech level was relatively high, and he was quite skilled in using the Genetic Mech, allowing him to dig through the Sand efficiently.
Once underground in the Sand, Rek found a temporary passage created by Alien Species walking through. Although this passage was somewhat narrow and partially filled with Sand again, it was much easier for Rek to reopen it since it had already been traversed by Alien Species once.
There were two passages in total: one leading to the Second District Training Ground and another leading to the medical room.
"Clone, come out and get to work. Luckily I have you; otherwise, I would have to face the dilemma of choosing between being a Moon Savior or dealing with Sophomore Students!" Rek thought as he released his clone to head towards the passage leading to the Second District Training Ground. This ensured his own safety while eliminating two heads and an Alien Species moving under the Sand.
Rek quickly walked through the underground Sand passage towards the medical room below.
Using his Genetic Mech to scan the passage beneath the Sand revealed a large cylindrical tunnel, with slime present on nearby Sand.
Based on the Sand passage and residual slime, Rek concluded that a Death Worm Variant had previously traversed this tunnel while carrying heads beneath the Sand.
The Death Worm is enormous, comparable to a small train, and has a dark red color. Rek had seen them in the Dark Space; they can quickly burrow through the Sand and emit a special high-concentration ray from their mouths, referred to as the Death Ray by soldiers of the Star Alliance Military. This ray has strong penetrating power, capable of piercing even the bodies of advanced mech warriors if hit.
"Fortunately, this Death Worm Variant isn't too difficult to deal with. Its attack methods are quite straightforward; as long as I avoid its mouth and don't get targeted, I just need to chop off its head," Rek thought to himself as he quickly pursued the path recently traversed by the Death Worm in the Sand.
After all, the forced mech was not specifically designed for movement under the Sand. Rek couldn't go full speed beneath it and could only chase as best as he could.
Time passed slowly, and the lunch break at the Super Soldier Academy Fortress had ended. Students and teachers returned to their respective posts one after another.
On the playground of the Academy Fortress in the Second Zone, over a hundred Sophomore Students had gathered, with more students arriving continuously.
These students surrounded two large cages covered with black cloth, standing at a distance to observe. Eight guards who had already undergone Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation stood outside these large Metal Cages, preventing curious students from unveiling the black cloth covering them prematurely.
In the infirmary, the Golden-Haired Girl, Alice, had met with the Moon Goddess.
"Alice, Rek said that the Headless Abomination is very dangerous and told me not to approach it before you arrived. But my mentor, Doctor Mie, is going to dissect this Headless Abomination this afternoon and specifically asked me to be her assistant," the Moon Goddess said somewhat shyly to Alice.
"Try to delay your mentor and keep her away from this Headless Abomination. Your Rek is working on a way to eliminate it," Alice replied nonchalantly.
"This Headless Abomination is very dangerous; its limbs are tightly bound with biological locks and cannot escape at all. It has also been injected with a large dose of anesthetic," the Moon Goddess attempted to explain.
