The Death Worm began to scream in pain, thrashing its tail in an attempt to evade and crush the creature known as Rek.
However, the movement range in the sand was limited. The Death Worm's tail could not dig through the sand on its own, while Rek's left arm, transformed into a Genetic Mech, had manifested a large drill capable of easily excavating the nearby sand, quickly creating space to evade.
Rek dodged the gaze of the Death Worm's head, circling around its tail while swiftly slicing down with his weapon, cutting the Death Worm into pieces from the tail end as if chopping vegetables.
This Death Worm Variant had a strong survival ability; even after losing half of its body to Rek's attacks, it was still alive. Rek dared not stop moving. Although he could use his bone blade to stab into the Death Worm's wounds and absorb its energy for his Genetic Mech, stopping could lead to being locked onto by the head of the legendary Death Worm. At that point, he had no confidence in dodging the Death Ray attack emitted from its head.
Rek took a moment to glance at his clone's perspective. The clone had successfully killed two heads and was now employing the same combat method as him, cutting segments from the tail of the Death Worm while avoiding the gaze of its head.
After about ten minutes, the long body of the Death Worm had been sliced into hundreds of large circular meat pieces by Rek.
Now, this giant worm was left with just over three meters in length. Its head had become more agile but was still alive and struggling. For over ten minutes, the Death Worm had been suffering greatly, having lost more than half of its body and still being slowly dismembered.
The surrounding sand had already been disturbed by the Death Worm thrashing its head around, creating a rather spacious area. Feeling that it was nearly time, Rek quickly rushed forward, grabbing hold of the Death Worm's head. He plunged his Bone Blade deep into its brain while transforming his other hand into a claw to firmly grasp its skull.
Rek activated his Genetic Mech's devouring ability just as the Death Worm began to violently shake its head against the sand, trying to throw off Rek and seeking mutual destruction.
After a standoff lasting more than ten seconds, the Death Worm ultimately failed; its head ceased movement. The remaining three-meter-long body was rapidly consumed from within by Rek's controlled Genetic Mech Bone Blade. In just over ten seconds, only a few bones were left behind.
Rek now felt sore all over, covered in a mixture of the Death Worm's slime and sand.
He stood up and used his Mental Energy to check on his clone. The clone had just killed its own Death Worm and was dirty all over, holding two Severed Head Variants' skulls while digging through the sand to approach Rek's main body.
Rek activated the communicator and sent a message to Moon Goddess and Alice, "The danger has been eliminated."
Afterward, Rek felt exhausted, sitting under the Sand, panting as he waited for his clone to arrive.
Above Rek, there was still a thick layer of Sand, and the Death Worm was covered in slime. Previously, a temporary small space had been dug out by the Death Worm beneath the Sand where Rek was located.
The slime on the Death Worm could solidify the Sand for a short period, so Rek was not worried about the small cavity in the sand collapsing.

In the changing room of the infirmary at the academy, Moon Goddess and Alice received the message from Rek, and Moon Goddess finally felt relieved.
The Wrist Communicator rang again; this time it was her mentor, Doctor Mie.
"Moon Goddess, quickly put on your isolation suit and come to the dissection table. The physical characteristics of the Headless Humanoid Aberration are rapidly deteriorating. I will start the dissection; you come over as soon as you're ready. Hurry," came the urgent voice of Doctor Mie through the communicator.
"I'll head out first; it seems you are safe now," Alice said, bidding farewell to Moon Goddess.

On the Training Ground of the Super Soldier Academy Second Zone, more than ten selected Students were carefully holding their weapons, forming a combat formation as they had during their usual training.
A teacher instructed the guards to release a male Headless Abomination from the Metal Cage.
The guards unshackled this Alien Species.
The Headless Abomination quickly burst out of its cage, raising its hands to the sky, scaring some of the Students nearby into pale expressions.
Just as the Students were preparing to attack the Headless Abomination together as they usually did in training, suddenly, both the Headless Abomination outside the cage and the one inside began to convulse rapidly. Then, with a loud thud, the Alien Species outside the cage fell to the Ground and became motionless.
The Alien Species inside the cage also stopped moving.
Seeing this bizarre scene, the students who were ready to battle the Alien Species found themselves without an enemy and stood there in a daze, unable to react.
After waiting for about half a minute, there was still no response from the Alien Species.
Several teachers transformed into Genetic Mecha Armor and approached to check on the two Headless Abominations.
Their expressions began to turn strange.
"Both Headless Humanoid Aberrations are dead; their bodily functions have ceased!" announced the Sophomore Class Leader Teacher through gritted teeth.
The surrounding students, who were preparing to write their reflections, immediately became lively upon hearing this news.
"Oh my god, what did I just hear? Is my hearing malfunctioning? They died before we even fought them! How am I supposed to write a reflection on that? It has to be a thousand words!" lamented a Female Cadet with a pained expression.
"The Alien Species is playing dead; it must be pretending! These two Headless Abominations have intelligence in their heads—no, in their chests! They want to feign death and counterattack. Students chosen for this battle, be careful!" said a Chubby Male Student unwillingly.
"Two powerful headless humanoid Alien Species faced with our group of over ten young Genetic Mecha Warriors. The Alien Species was surrounded by us Star Alliance Youth Genetic Mecha Warriors. The Genetic Mech unleashed a powerful fighting spirit and morale, and the two Alien Species were scared to death. No way, I can't continue writing," said a Little Boy among the Students, looking longingly at his class's Class Leader.
At this moment, the Class Leader of the Sophomore Class spoke up: "This afternoon, I came with great enthusiasm to participate in the practical combat course, ready to witness the battle between the evil humanoid Alien Species and the Star Alliance Genetic Mech Students."
A crowd of hundreds of Students and their instructors gathered, as this would be a world-changing battle. The weather was excellent, and the fight was about to begin. A Male Aberrant burst out of its cage at an astonishing speed. Suddenly, it convulsed and unleashed a terrifying psychic attack.
However, our classmates, more than a dozen brave Students selected for this mission, faced the powerful psychic assault without any fear. Our valiant warriors gripped their weapons, ready to counter the mental attack from the Alien Species.
Our Genetic Mecha Warriors fought to save the future of the Star Alliance and defend its honor. They were not alone in this battle. The evil intimidation attack from the Headless Abomination ultimately failed, as the Headless Abomination was instead repelled by the unwavering belief of the Students.
The Headless Abomination suffered severe mental damage, and two Alien Species fell dead. This was a battle that shook the heavens and moved the spirits. During this fight, our Super Soldier Academy's Sophomore Class students demonstrated their strong combat faith and efficient teamwork capabilities, showcasing the might of Star Alliance Soldiers and embodying the Super Soldier Academy's motto of fearlessness and perseverance.
As the class leader finished speaking, applause erupted from over a dozen cheering students who shouted the motto of "Might and Perseverance."
The Sophomore Class teachers wore stern expressions. The Grade Leader Teacher stepped forward and announced loudly, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, today's practical training session is ending early. Everyone disperse immediately and leave the Training Ground within three minutes; no lingering."
The teachers did not mention anything about reflections on the event.
Upon hearing the command, the students quickly left the training ground, noticing their teachers' angry expressions.
"Great! We get an extra half day off!"
"Bro, do you think we still have to submit assignments for reflections tomorrow?"
"You really plan to write one? If you want to repeat a grade, go ahead and submit your reflection."
"So it turns out Alien Species aren't that scary after all!"
The departing students chatted among themselves on their way out.
At the Second Area Training Ground, Master Muya looked at the absurd scene involving the Sophomore Class and couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and exasperation. She turned to leave, aware that as a first-year teacher, her presence here was somewhat sensitive and inappropriate.
Master Muya silently thanked her luck that her two troublesome students, Rek and Alice, had not come to witness the practical combat class between the Sophomore students and the Alien Species. Otherwise, those two would likely say something to drive her crazy.
Maya quickly sent a message to Alice and Rek through her Wrist Communicator: "No need to come over. You have the afternoon off; the Sophomore Class's combat class against the Alien Species has been temporarily canceled."
However, just after Maya sent this message, she received a reply from Alice: "Teacher, I've already changed my clothes and I'm outside the training ground, but the Guard Personnel won’t let me in. They are dispersing the Senior Sisters from the Sophomore Class. It seems like they are discussing the fight with the Alien Species. I even heard something about a mental attack. I'm going to ask them about what happened in the battle."
Seeing Alice's reply, Maya thought about how Alice only needed her when things went wrong.
"Don't go asking about the Sophomore Class's battle with the Alien Species; that's their secret. Stay away from the Sophomore students. Wait for me near the benches a hundred meters outside the training ground. I'll come find you right away." After sending this message to Alice, Maya quickly turned and walked briskly out of the Training Ground.
Maya did not want her student getting involved in this farcical battle.
If Alice learned too many details, she would likely embellish them when sharing with the Freshman Class students.
That would make the teachers of the Sophomore Class a laughingstock and could lead to hostility between first-year and sophomore teachers.
After all, today was originally meant for the Sophomore Class's practical combat course at this Training Ground. She had only been allowed to observe with Rek and Alice after speaking favorably to the head of the Sophomore teaching team.
Maya decided she needed to find Alice quickly and get her out of this troublesome place as soon as possible.
