Alice began to think deeply, and after a while, she came up with a conclusion and said to Rek, "Regarding the ancient Time Temple ruins, as far as I remember, the Star Alliance Military was ultimately unable to enter.
However, those researchers from the Star Alliance Military, in previous generations, developed an alternative method to access these ruins.
The key to this alternative entry method lies in Dark Space, not in the Main World.
In Dark Space, there is an Alien Species that has evolved four times, called the Time Beast. The Time Beast possesses certain abilities related to space and time.
It is rumored that by shattering the eyes of a Time Beast, one can open a temporary spatial gate. As long as detailed Coordinates are provided, one can travel to any desired location.
However, the Time-Space Beast Variant that has evolved four times is extremely rare and powerful. In previous generations, the Star Alliance Military could not hunt it down, let alone obtain its eyes to experiment with this fanciful plan."
"Time Beast! I have also heard about it; the Star Alliance Military introduced this Alien Species. In the later editions of the Star Alliance Military's comprehensive guide on Alien Species, it recorded that the Time Beast evolved four times is classified as extremely dangerous. If encountered, one should flee immediately.
Sigh! Am I really only going to live for Seventy-Two Days before I die? I'm so unwilling!" Rek shouted angrily while pounding on the Ground.
Seeing Rek's demeanor, Alice pondered for a few minutes, and the room became unusually quiet: "Don't give up. I know the location of an evolved four times Time Beast in Dark Space.
That location is about a month away from where the Super Soldier Academy Fortress is currently heading. When we get closer, I'll accompany you to try and see if we can truly kill this Time Beast." Alice said to Rek.
"Really!" Rek looked at Alice as if she were a savior.
"Really. But in this month, we need to become stronger quickly. That Time Beast is difficult to deal with; there was a generation when I tried to eliminate it but ended up being killed by it. Fortunately, I had the War God System's resurrection item back then; when I died, I could reload my save and come back to life."
But in this life, the War God System has attached itself to you, and I no longer have any resurrection items.
Let me make it clear: although I will go with you in a month, when we face the Time Beast, if I feel that we have no chance of winning and that the Time Beast will kill us, I will abandon you and escape without hesitation. Alice said to Rek without holding back.
Hearing Alice say that she would run away if she couldn't win made Rek feel more at ease; at least it proved that Alice wasn't deceiving him.
"Alright, I'll contact that Redhead from the Glorious Empire in a few days. Her strength is decent, and she particularly wants to go to that ruin to save her aunt. We can invite her to join us in dealing with the Time Beast, which might increase our chances of success," Rek said after thinking for a moment.
"Do whatever you want! I need to prepare some items to deal with the Time Beast. First, I'll get some special bombs ready. Are you still going to sleep in the infirmary these nights, or will you stay in the dormitory with me to make bombs?" Alice asked Rek, her big eyes sparkling as she looked at him, clearly hoping he would stay with her.
Rek recalled the terrifying scene of Alice making bombs in the dormitory before. The room was filled with chemical substances and small parts everywhere.
However, Rek knew that this time Alice agreed to accompany him to deal with the Time Beast solely to save his life, so leaving the dormitory again felt a bit unreasonable.
"I'll stay and help you make bombs," Rek said, forcing himself to agree.
"Great! It's settled then. I'm the only one living in the dormitory; it's quite lonely. Even though you're clumsy and can't be of much help, at least you can keep me company," Alice said excitedly.
Alice was once again using plastic scissors to cut her paper decorations.
Rek watched as Alice didn't go to buy the materials for making bombs and felt a bit anxious. Rek urged, "Stop making those decorations and hurry up to buy the parts for the bombs and some props! I can go with you if you want. Aren't you worried that you won't be able to make the bombs and the necessary props in time?"
After hearing this, Alice rolled her eyes at Rek and casually replied, "What's the rush? There's still a month left. Rek, I advise you to change your mindset. Some people, upon knowing their time of death, give up enjoying the beautiful life they have now and instead torment themselves.
You need to relax a bit; a month is enough time for me to prepare, so there's no need to rush.
Besides, the Death Curse is on you, not me. What do I have to be afraid of?"
Seeing Alice's nonchalant attitude, Rek realized that urging her further would be pointless. He simply closed his eyes and lay down on the bed, trying to fall asleep.
Rek thought about the curse he was under; in seventy-two days, he might really die.
Even if he did manage to kill the Time Beast and obtain its eye a month later, there was no guarantee he could enter the Ancient Ruins or that he would be able to lift the curse once inside.
As Rek's mind wandered chaotically, he decided to try changing his mindset as Alice suggested.
"I'm someone who will die in seventy-two days; what do I have to fear? It's just a matter of dying early or late. After all, I've already been reborn in this life; I've gained something!
But I need to finish what I haven't completed before I die."
Rek thought about the little girl he had brought from the Ancient Capital, the Moon Goddess.
Moon Goddess has a ticking time bomb in her mind, and I should quickly find a way to defuse it. After all, Moon Goddess is someone I brought out. If I really die after Seventy-Two Days, at least I can ensure that Moon Goddess, this little girl, can live like a normal human being without any other concerns. It would be a good deed to do before I die.
Rek thought about how Moon Goddess must have been feeling anxious lately, knowing about the danger in her mind, probably just like how he feels right now.
As Rek pondered, he fell asleep.
The next day, Rek woke up around noon while Alice was out for lunch.
In his dormitory, Rek summoned his clone from the Tower of Desire.
He took off his Wrist Communicator and put it on the clone, then changed the clone into another new school uniform.
"Clone, I'm planning to take a trip to the Ancient Capital. If all goes well, I should be back in twelve hours.
You will attend class for me today. If Alice wants to go shopping after class, you will accompany her.
Be careful when she is making bombs tonight. If I can't return in a short time, make sure to attend class here at the Super Soldier Academy in my place." After giving the clone instructions on what to do,
Rek decided not to wait any longer. Today he would use the Two-Way Time-Space Gate Card to go to the Ancient Capital and find a device that could temporarily stop the small bomb in Moon Goddess's mind.
Rek walked into the private bathroom and locked himself inside.
