Alice looked at the stone walls of the underground mine, where heads of the Alien Species were continuously crawling out, supported by two legs beneath their large brains.
These Alien Species had only a large mouth on their heads, with no eyes, nose, or other organs.
The large heads revealed sharp teeth and drooled as they gazed at Maya and Alice.
"There are so many Head Abominations in this cave! This is going to be tough," Alice said, becoming serious as she summoned the Victorious Monkey.
The large monkey, whose fur had become much shinier, appeared in front of Alice holding a metal rod.
"With hundreds of Head Abominations, we need to evacuate quickly; it's hard to hide in this underground cave," Maya said.
As the battle began in the underground mine, Rek saw through the visual shared by Maya that these Head Abominations moved particularly agilely within the stone walls and had extremely strong vitality, blocking Alice and Maya's escape route.
The Victorious Monkey swung its metal rod with all its might; only by completely smashing these heads could they be killed. If they were merely injured or cut in half by Maya or Alice, they often continued to live and attack the three.
"This is bad; these Head Abominations are biting the metal cables of the Metal Elevator! Hurry!" Rek shouted in the team channel.
However, after seeing the scene shared by Maya and reminding them again, it was already too late.
Although Maya and Alice rushed back immediately and managed to cut down several Head Abominations with their weapons, three or five of them used their sharp teeth to bite through the Metal Elevator's lifting cables in less than a second.
They then began gnawing on the metal platform of the Metal Elevator.
"Rek, quickly contact Fortress and have them send an emergency rescue team with ropes. I hope they can arrive in time," Master Muya said in the team channel. She was already starting to breathe heavily; dealing with these highly mobile and resilient Alien Species was proving challenging even for her.
As for Alice, she swung her longsword up and down while the Fighting Saint Monkey guarded her side, assisting in the battle.
Although there were already twenty to thirty corpses of Head Abominations around Maya, Alice, and Fighting Saint Monkey, more Head Abominations continued to crawl out from the depths of the horizontal cave and the surrounding stone walls, as well as from the ground.
Looking at the densely packed Alien Species was like seeing bees swarming in a beehive.
Rek immediately sent a distress signal back to Super Soldier Academy Fortress.
"Master Muya, get down! I have three bombs," Alice said as she threw a Metal Sphere into the horizontal cave and quickly crouched down before detonating the bomb.
Maya didn't have time to ask Alice how she had brought bombs. With a loud boom, a series of explosive echoes rang through the cave, and the massive blast force slammed her body against the stone wall behind her.
Even though Alice was crouched down, she was still in a sorry state after the explosion, feeling pain all over her body.
However, when Maya and Alice got up to look at the horizontal cave, they found that the Underground Vein was incredibly hard. Such a high-intensity explosion couldn't destroy the rock walls and cave; it only killed a few dozen Head Abominations.
"Should I throw both of them together? That might increase the explosion's strength," Alice said, brushing off the dust from her face, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"That's useless! Don't throw anymore. The strength of this vein is extremely hard; your bombs can't destroy it. Instead, you might blow us up. These Head Abominations can still hide under the Underground Vein rocks. Detonating one bomb only kills too few of them," Maya said, stopping Alice's actions and continuing to wield her longsword to slash at the Alien Species charging towards them.
"Another batch of new Alien Species is crawling out from the rocks. Is there no end to this? There are too many of them; Victorious Monkey and I can't hold on much longer," Alice said.
"Even if we can't hold on, we must try. If they get close, we'll all die. You saw how fast those Head Abominations devoured the Elevator platform; their teeth are Special Class sharp. Even though our Genetic Mech has some defensive capabilities, once bitten, we'll definitely bleed," Maya replied while continuing to swing her longsword.
"I don't want to be bitten to death by those disgusting Alien Species with just heads and legs. I don't want to die here," Alice said dejectedly.
Maya also felt some regret now; if she had listened to Alice and Rek's suggestions yesterday, at least she could have dropped some small bombs today during the mission to scout the situation. It was her negligence.
"Alice, this time it's my fault for misjudging. Your combat plan with Rek yesterday seems very correct now. What exists in this vein is not ore but an Alien Horde hiding within the rock walls," Maya said with a tone of sadness directed at Alice.
Then, Master Muya addressed Rek in the team channel, saying, "Rek, Alice and I can't hold on much longer. After a while, if you see that Alice and I are moving slower, quickly use the Drilling Machine's large drill bit to seal off the entrance we dug out earlier.
Don't let these splitting Alien Species escape.
The large drill bit of the Drilling Machine is made of special metal material. Although the teeth of these Head Abominations are sharp, they won't break the drill bit immediately.
It will take at least another hour for the Rescue Team to arrive. By then, make sure to explain everything to them before dealing with the Alien Species under this mine. I hope you can still find Alice and my bodies by then."
"What!" Rek didn't know how to respond.
"Rek, don't listen to Master Muya! I don't want to die in this cave; I don't want my body to be eaten. Think of a way to save us!" Alice shouted in the student channel.
"Rek, quickly seal off the entrance with the large drill bit; I can't hold on much longer. If these Alien Species crawl out through the entrance, you might die too," Master Muya urged in the communication channel.
"Rek, how dare you! Don't block the entrance; I haven't lived enough in this life. The rescue team might arrive any second now. If you block the entrance, we will have no hope.
I've finally managed to change my life a bit; I don't want to die so early. I can't accept dying before you. Damn it, Rek! Did you know something beforehand? You want to survive alone while Maya and I die in this cave? Are you at ease with that?" Alice yelled in the underground cave.
Rek felt increasingly confused as he watched Maya and Alice move slower and slower; both of them were starting to get injured along with Fighting Saint Monkey.
